Fun game with good synchronization.
Audiosurf is a fun little game to pass time.
Although the game is simple and repetitive it remains fun to play. You choose a song, wait for the game to load and then ride your music! Pick up blocks, make matches and score the highest amount of points.
The game is a little broken because when you want to score high on the leader board, you just pick an incredible long and difficult song, name it whatever song you want, and the game will post your score in the appropriate track leader board.
The animations are cool and the sync between the music and the pathway is pretty well done. I enjoy playing it when I am bored or waiting on something else to download.
For the low price, it is worth it!

Audiosurf is basically the reason I got back into PC gaming 15 years ago (as of this writing); the ability to integrate my music library into a gameplay experience peaked my interest, and in the end, did not disappoint. The track-like structure of the levels allows one to experience the ebb and flow of their tracks, while simultaneously working in a sense of beat with gametypes like the block-collecting Mono mode. There are other gametypes, but that specific one remains my personal favorite for experiencing tracks.
totally wonderful for what it is. this was the first game I bought on steam and booting it back up and playing it like a jukebox with my friends was a blast. I never touched most of the non mono characters due to my color blindness and unwillingness to try to learn how that shit works, but learning them is fun and chaotic.
one thing I don't love is how feeling good at the game and getting a high score are not correlated well enough. you can play moderately well with a character but still have scores half of those on the leaderboards without the game telling you what you're not doing.
despite that, it's still a blast, and learning some tricks to get high scores is fun.

This game is absolutely fantastic. The track generation algorithm works quite well, especially for electronic tracks. Very chill game, perfect for relaxing in the evening after a stressful day.
However, it requires you to have mp3s of the titles you want to hear/play. Back when the game was released, this was a no-brainer. Everyone I knew had GBs of music on their PC.

Audiosurf is a rhythm and puzzle-solving game that transforms your music library into a track of colored blocks you have to match to get points for.
Gamplay is split between several modes, including dodge the grey blocks, hit the colored ones, co-op, collecting multiple colors, etc. The game can read in your entire iTunes library, which is very convenient and does well in generating a good course.
Visually, there's not that much going on, outside of colored blocks and lines, but when the music picks up, there are more colors and the course speeds up.
Overall, Audiosurf is a basic rhythm/puzzle game that can read in your music library. It's got both easy and hard levels, so there's a lot of variety in addition to the different game modes. Very enjoyable and relaxing.

It was a creative idea when it came out, the idea that any song could be turned into gameplay was neat and the rollercoaster style tracks were novel at the time. I think the reality was pretty uninspired though sadly and acted more as a proof of concept. I had more fun just listening to my music than putting it through this.
