I didn't like this as much as the first one because I'm more into Christian cults than Mayan ones but it's still a great point and click game and it's got some banging gags in it.

That little dude Titipoca kicked all kinds of ass.

Gorgeous animation, great levels with real atmosphere, funny and smart writing, great characters. Only thing that lets it down is some absolute horse shit puzzles, the kind that could only come from the demented mind of a programmer on acid.

The second greatest point & click adventure game ever made after Shadow of the Templars. Not as strong in the story department as its predecessor, but arguably funnier and more dramatic. Rolf Saxon as the endlessly endearing George Stobbart continues to give one of the all time great video game performances.

Bonus points for being a proper globe-trotting adventure with some beautiful tropical environments.

A great follow-up to an extraordinary graphic adventure.

Best point and click game of the late 90's. The french dub holds up a lot better than the original, for some reason. The remasters for these stink! Try to hunt down the 97 version.

Un guión algo más trabajado que en la primera entrega, aunque sigue sin ser nada reseñable bajo mi punto de vista. Quizá no los jugué cuando tocaba...

I had a lot of fun with this one and I do adore the series. The characters are amusing as ever, the art style gorgeous and the world full of details.

Unfortunately, I did like this a bit less than the first game for a couple of reasons: Some parts of the story seem a bit... disjointed. You play as both Nico and George and sometimes, the transition between the two is a bit awkward, mainly because of clumsy time jumps.
In addition to that, a few puzzles proved to be more tedious than fun (looking at you, maze puzzle). I'm a bit ashamed to admit that I had to look up a walkthrough once because I just couldn't wrap my head around the insane point & click adventure logic that the game was throwing at me.

Still, The Smoking Mirror is a great experience that had me hooked from the start. It's fun and nostalgic and really one of the best adventure games out there.

I'm not much of a fan of this series. The entry was ok, but stupidly difficult at some points. It was difficult even with a guide...
