Absolutely loved the open world level selection of this game, and the soundtrack slaps!!

Handles significantly worse that the original. You're really gonna miss that analog stick!

The races with T.T. where you draw your own courses are an interesting novelty, but they aren't that enjoyable in execution. The cool battle modes are still there in multiplayer, but are removed from adventure mode. If this is the first way you played DKR, you'd probably enjoy it, but it doesn't do anything well enough to justify recommending it over the N64 original.

la musica va dura el juego no tanto

Feels and plays quite a bit worse than the original, notably so. The customization and shop additions are cool but that doesn't make up for it if the game simply doesn't play as well.

A great remake for a great game. Not quite as revolutionary 10 years later, but it was still a lot of fun. I want another one. Please!

Dios, que divertido es usar todos los vehiculos en este juego. Lo malo que en algunos circuitos y bosses, se me ha hecho bastante genericos.

Decent remake. The track editor was a neat addition but it could've been much, much better. Other than that it's just the original game, minus two characters because copyright. And the original was good.

Removed Taj's funny accent fuck you rare.

This was my first ever kart racer, and what I fantastic way to start.
-Amazing Music
-Really memorable tracks
-Great very with the different vehicles
-Phenomenal controls
-A really good character roster
Yea, I do know that the touch controls with this game give a lot of people a hard time, but I didn't mind them that much. Overall, this is by far my favorite racing game of all time.

gave me motion sickness as a kid lol

Super Monkey Racing DS is probably the best game involving a monkey racing against a dinosaur

DO NOT PLAY THIS IN THE SHOWER you will get wet

voice acting aside, this remake is not actually a bad way to experience the original, is more or less the same thing with just some boring shit put into it

While this port has touch screen slash microphone gimmicks that detract a bit, it more than makes up in the new content added. Base level, Diddy Kong Racing is still super cool. It's a great adventure full of great courses. This version adds two main things, first a new cup, set in the jungle, which is pretty solid. Second, it adds the ability to draw your own tracks using the touch screen, which is a very very neat gimmick and was fun to do online.

traded this in as a child, reclaimed it as an adult. this is what progress looks like.

i like the squishy frogs in this game

Pretty fun, enjoyed playing it. Story mode was decently fun.

Even from the N64, some author characters were removed and some from the DK franchise was added, it's a good remake, it has some extras and more plot in the story (on the N64 it didn't really have that).

Closing for closing, 100% is complicated on the DS. Hárboard (vehicle that walks on land and water) in this game is complete crap and besides the difficulty of piloting it (curious that on the N64 it wasn't that bad). Another criticism is: Why didn't you focus on challenge coins instead of clicking balloons? For anyone with a chipped DS touchscreen like mine, this challenge is hard.

A fine port, but I generally preferred the graphics and soundtrack in the N64 port. Tiny Kong being not-tiny was weird.

Still good, but man, the N64 version is so much better.

Kick ass racer that doesn't get nearly enough love as it deserves. Totally deserves a modern day remake
