The first half of the 90s was such a mixed bag of licensed games. On one hand the fact that multiple studios would churn out games for the same movie or TV show typically resulted in at least one or two good games. On the other hand, you'd also get Die Hard for the NES. A clunky top down shooter with little about its repetitive gameplay to recommend.

Some funny monologues at the start of the levels by John Mcclane doesn't excuse the repetitive visuals and illogical decisions (why can't John just walk back instead of only being able to move forward in one of the first building levels? It feels arbitrary since other maze levels in the game allow free exploration)

The NES version of this is pretty interesting for its time, they tried to add some more depth with those mechanics like the "Foot Power" (yeah, I discovered this game on the AVGN) and stuff. Unfortunately, hardware and deadline limitations might've limited the original ideas. The "correction" hack on the internet made it mode bearable.

I just wish it was made on a more powerful hardware or someone remade this one or took some of its ideas and execute them better
