fun, underrated, but nothing for weak VR stomachs.

Never listen to Doom fans on this, it's extremely fun and simple. It's made to turn your brain off and game, adding a wee bit of lore along the way. It doesn't need to be anything crazy and it isn't. It's so fast that it made me nauseous so I took brakes between every level, but it was more fun Doom gameplay in VR! Huge missed opportunity to not have Glory Kills in VR, like ik we're not the Doom Slayer himself but come on.

This is a great shooter, despite what most people say. This does have a huge asterisk that it needs to be configured using the in game console and a specific controller layout(and on index. good luck if on any other platform, though I do believe other fixes are out there) but it feels great once you're using that. It's fast paced, but skews a little easier. the narrative is weaker but the gameplay is much stronger than it gets credit for when modded. Frankly, at times it earns my second place to Doom 2016 out of the three since the reboot. It also includes a lot of little doomguy figures to collect to unlock classic doom levels, one of the few ways to make me play the OG doom... in VR and with this control scheme. It does have its visual shortcomings, and it's on the lower effort VR translations but it's mostly excusable, and it is its own game. I hope the lukewarm reception doesn't cancel out any future VR content from id, because I'd love to see further follow ups like this, but hopefully a little longer with better control options pre-implemented.

The movement sucks but its pretty fun

I wanted to like this game very much. As an old Doom fan, I was looking forward to witness the monsters in VR. Unfortunately, the movement/teleportation system totally kills the experience.

The graphics are good but it’s mostly the condensed version of a few areas from Doom 2016. The gameplay is much slower than the original, which is understandable as you can’t move around as fast. I tried all three control systems, but none of them allowed me to play comfortably on PSVR. The move controllers are probably the best as soon as you get used to the teleport system. Overall, it’s an alright game but not even closer to proper VR shooting games like “Farpoint”.

Completely irredeemable game in every regard. The performance is terrible, the controls are unusable, the player character isn't Doomguy, the story is nonexistent, and you can't even rip and tear enemies with your hands.

Played it in preparation for Doom Eternal. Meh.

This is a really fun VR shooter that's the perfect length. It'll have you sick on the floor every 30 minutes but it is well worth it.

Felt very weird to control sometimes…but was okay I guess

A good way to become bulimic, because you're gonna be throwing up every 30 minutes.

being in doom is cool but when the core gameplay sucks it's not that fun

This was a challenging, fast-paced, and frantically fun VR adaptation of DOOM (2016), and I enjoyed staring down all the horrific monsters on Mars and blowing them to smithereens with a shotgun.

While the idea of a fast-paced shooter like Doom in VR is a dangerous idea, they made it work somewhat. The content itself is a rehashed Doom 2016, down to enemies, weapons, environments and music. Would really only recommend to hardcore Doom fans.

I wanted to like DOOM in VR, but this game really isn't it. It looks pretty unfinished visually, has difficulty spikes that can be really problematic unless you have hours of VR experience before playing this, and the teleportation feels more inaccurate than in other games.
Looking at the big pretty guns is cool though.

The game itself its really cool and awesome but the shit controls mess it up. First of all there is no turning the camera with the stick. you actually have to turn your body now it sounds cool but for a game where you need to be looking around like crazy and its fast paced as fuck its very easy to get caught up on the wire of your headset. Also no ability to swap the dominant hand.

This shit SUCKED. Maybe the only example of a VR game I played that was more fun without the VR on my head...literally. By the end, I sat the headset on my lap and moved it around to act as the camera. What a shitshow.

OMFG DOOM ON VR
glory kills got cut tho so -1 star
such a missed oppurtunity

just give me doomguys exact movements please I can handle it

Just uncomfortable. Not even worth it out of curiosity, and lord help you if you want to play with the Aim controller. Of all the VR genres out there, you shouldn't be scraping the barrel this far down for shooters.

Almost made me puke. Plus it's just recycled assets from Doom 2016. Pass
