Playing on Ultra Violence without quicksaves has been my peak Doom experience so far. Losing your entire arsenal sans pistol HURTS, but it's a good pain. The few times I did die proved to always be recoverable and further reveals how well designed the stages are. I was always within reach of enough ammo and new weapons to crack the soft-puzzles of the later episode's encounter design.

I highly recommend giving Doom a spin with the resolve to not crutch upon save-scumming. At least eventually.

The classic shooter. There's no argument

I've played the absolute fuck out of DOOM 3, 2016, and Eternal, with a platinum on Eternal and still working on that dreaded Ultra Nightmare run. I figured I needed to go back and take care of the original games of one of my favorite series.

Doom holds up insanely well, I beat this game in a day and a half, and I honestly had a complete blast with it. When I was younger I always got stuck on E2M2 and would give up, thankfully I made it through this one, although House of Pain gave me a fuck load of trouble. King of Boomer Shooters, what else is there to be said? On to Doom 2.

A huge classic, I'm pretty sure every FPS enthusiast has played this game.

This version comes with 4 chapters and 3 versions (the other versions being DOS and DOS with classic controls).

It is still a huge hit, and people still play it. This game came to be one of the best FPS of all time, without a doubt.

MULTIPLAYER COOPERATIVE; STEAM REMOTE PLAY WORKS; 10/10

cmon... its fucking doom 💯.

couldn't finish this I found it very boring. will pick up at another date when I have more patience

I have a curious case with the Doom series, I started with Eternal and 2016, and had an amazing time with them, I didn't however like my experience with the OG dooms (64 and II), so I came back to Doom 3, which I also enjoyed a lot.
It's funny that I left the first Doom as the last game to play (even after playing Sigil and Final Doom), and now that I'm basically done with the main series, I can experience the game that started it all.
Altough I prefered Doom 1 over 2 and 64, I still think it carries many of their flaws, which is only natural, considering these games basically invented the FPS genre. I am definetely not a fan of the maps layout, and in any of these games I liked the "find key and backtrack" level design, which is my main complain; no doubt why I enjoyed Romero's levels the best ones.
But even so, the game is fun, you can't really go wrong with slaying demons in the most gruesome ways possible, but I don't really see myself coming back to it any time soon.

I've completed this game with my little son when he was four! He set on my knees and pushed the fire button, and I was responsible for all moves (turns, running). It was a perfect duo! I love this game!

Most interesting ways you can play Doom '93:
- On a digital pregnancy test
- Gut bacteria (at 0.00003 fps)
- On a potato powered calculator

For my personal choice, the 90s computer inside of Doom Eternal's hub area. Yes, you heard me correct, you can even play Doom...in Doom. I will eventually get round the completing the full game, as I enjoyed it so far.

the daddy of the fps genre or something i dunno it's pretty good

The 2016 remake is one of my favorite games of all time, so I've been wanting to check out the original series but with caution. This is fucking phenomenal. There are a few parts that haven't aged super well, but most of the game has which is impressive. Really excited to check out the others as well as the Wolfenstein series.

Great game but it's starting to show it's age.
Better enemy and weapon placement in this one than it's sequel.
Personally I am not a fan of these types of like maze-shooters but it can be fun sometimes.
It is not very satisfying to kill monsters in this it feels more like a fight for survival.
The sound design in this is not my favorite.

tana tana tana tana tanana tana tana tana tanaaaaaan

Played for a little but did not get into it. It might be that fps games aren't my thing. I'm willing to try the 2016 version down the line.

It's doom. While perhaps not as fun as the newer games, it's masterfully orchestrated arsenal and enemy roster never gets old. Can become a bit of a maze sometimes, and to be frank a lot of modern boomer shooters have eclipsed it. But few games I know aged this well.

It's a lot of fun with mods like Brutal Doom.

Doom is also a treasure for retro content, there is always something new being discovered and discussed, should it be speedrunning or the weirdest bugs. Doom has perhaps brought me more enjoyment from content related to it like impossible ports, than the game itself.

Extremamente divertido. Foi a minha primeira vez zerando Doom, gostei muito do jogo. Pretendo jogar a sequência.

I remember buying this as shareware disks from Circuit City waaaay back around 1994. I think I had a Packard Bell 386 computer and played the hell out of this!

I’ve thought a lot about what I want to say here.

Doom is one of the games, if not the game, I have earliest conscious memories of. It has been with me all of my life. From watching my dad and older sister play it while sitting in his lap, to playing it on my own, to mastering it on my own, to making my own levels for it, to seeing other people play and enjoy (and hate!) the levels I made. My time with the Fire Emblem series may have brought me to many people I know and love today, but Doom was one of the first things that shaped me into who I am. In a way, it’s no stretch for me to say that all videogames I have ever played (and will ever play) begin and end with Doom.

Thank you for making this wonderful game, id Software.

Still cranks hard. The fact that I've been jamming this bad boy for 20+ years speaks volumes to how hard it goes. RIP AND TEAR...

Props to those students who got it playing on bacteria, and props to ID software for making one of the greatest games. It’s got that crunch

ancient but still kicking ass 30 years later. you can thank doom for being the grandaddy of your fortnite, COD, and Halo.
