It's actually really good. It doesn't pack a lot, only 5 distinct levels that repeat, so the main goal is to keep beating the previous time. But it's super fun.

It has a good sense of speed and colorful graphics, but the only a few levels which also repeat, and there's no depth to the gameplay.

Think excitebike but isometric, your goal is to reach the finish line in 60 seconds for each of the 10 races. Avoid obstacles and other drivers, and gain points for how many drivers you passed. You can then use those points between races to upgrade various parts of your bike. Pretty solid for a master system game with a surprising amount of depth, but I wish each race was a unique location; you sadly get repeats once you're halfway done.

fuck yeah i endured the HELL out of that race. surprisingly not very punishing by old video game standards. the only bullshit course is probably the last one but you can tank damage and be fine by that point. Also played the Japanese version. Apparently it's better. Never played the US/EU one so idc

At first I thought "Oh it's Excite Bike at home" but the more I played the more its depth showed. Yeah it repeats its 5 courses for the back half, but what matters is going fast and feeling good. The message at the end of the game was sweet too, a cute reward for your efforts in what may be the first approachable Master System game I've played.
