This game is dumb, but it is still a fun time. It doesn't take the most critical gamer to know this game stinks. Yet it still does some cool things, I had more fun messing around with the hacking menu than I did playing the actual game. I also didn't expect to beat it in a single morning sitting. For what you get, especially with the live action FMVs that tie into the second movie, it's not really worth it unless you like jank.

We have max payne at home, and its not actually that bad and pretty fun tbh

one of the few games I remember of my childhood and I absolutely adored it.

Impresionante, me gusto mucho las pelis de Matrix pero el juego increible.

I only really liked playing this game because my babysitter would make fun of it while watching me play and that made me giggle joyfully like the little bitch I was.

meedi. secret fighting game mode was fun though

Best run animation worst fucking controls

Could never finish this one as I played on my cousin's PC when she was not listening to Avril Lavigne or Backstreet Boys.

When you play a Matrix game, you want the cool powers.

I'm giving it this high because the segments where you run from Agents were enthralling to me as a kid; other than that, the gameplay is raw trash.

Would spend most of my playtime having a multiple hour shootout during the final part of the first level, before the car chase. Thought it was peak gaming.

slow, stiff, janky as fuck the agent boss fights will butcher you leave you with nothing but hate time trail for the car section i dont understand why but i could only beat it with the guy whos name i cant remember dont recommend not in any way

I would play Path of Neo, beat it, then come to this and just feel its inferiority even as a 5-8 year old kid.

at the time many mocked the bullet time mechanics, little did they know that 20 years later few if any have done it better

With all the gimmicks of The Matrix including bullet time, slo-mo martial arts, wall cartwheels and wall tile shattering gun-play, though without any impact whatsoever.
Tedious gameplay and extremely forgettable.

Enter the Matrix, released alongside The Matrix Reloaded, aimed to expand the movie universe through a video game experience. Unfortunately, the game suffers from clunky controls, frustrating combat, and repetitive missions. While the ambition of interweaving its story with the film's plot was intriguing, it fails to truly capture the essence of The Matrix. The bullet-time mechanics feel poorly implemented, and the overall experience lacks the polish and excitement fans of the franchise would have hoped for.

i actually quite enjoyed this, and even plugged in a keyboard and wasted hours on that hacking mode

The definition of "almost good". Getting 1080i on the Xbox is very cool and honestly the best part of the game.

Nothing like this had ever been done before, and—to my knowledge—has ever been done since.

While the controls feel a bit weird at first (like, PS1 007 weird), you start understanding that they're literally perfect for this game after a while.

At the end of the day, they didn't have to do this. They did not have to do this. But they did. They went above and beyond.

And when you're done? You can play an alternate version of it as a different character. Genius.

It was horrible, and not even with how bad the game was, it crashed completely

full star for hacking as the cheat code menu

Player/Neo goes beast-mode and demolishes the interior of a small restaurant just to see what's destructible

Meanwhile, the enemy NPCs seems to be distracted by the buzzing of a small fly.

Your in-game co-player sagely says: Look out, Neo -- I think they're onto us.

Good times!

When I was a child I was drooling over Matrix action and played Enter the Matrix. My initial impression was disappointing. Where is the Neo? Who are this guys? Gameplay is boring. Fast forward to late 2021, I started to watch/play/read every Matrix product before Matrix Resurrections. Playing this game again, it's still boring as hell. However it made me realize this game was ambitious in story aspect. In 2003, they released The Animatrix, Enter the Matrix, Matrix Reloaded and Matrix Revolutions. They are all connected. For example "Final Flight of the Osiris" from The Animatrix happens, then Enter the Matrix starts where it left off, then it connects with Matrix Reloaded beginning. They made live-action cutscenes with quality on par with actual movies. You can play (or watch cutscenes from youtube) this game if you are binge watching Matrix series but I do not recommend just playing this game.

the first level nailed the liminal vibe but got repetitive after a while, but a beautiful game regardless

I played this on the PS2 and I like that I could be Neo so that's all I remember (I hope i logged the right game i honestly don't remember)

they hid the matrix yuri in this one must play 10/10

played this when I was young and never finished it but as a huge matrix fan i remember loving this game

I've been playing this on and off for ages. Kept getting stuck on the same bit but finally overcame that obstacle, and a couple of sections aside, breezed through it.

When it's good, it rad as fuck, when it's bad, it's because it's hampered by the controls of its day. But in fairness, they're pretty good in this game. It does a get a bit rinse repeat in the final level as well, but it's nice to see the little exclusive cinematic scenes and a bit more story to the films. A shame consoles didn't have video capture back in the day. But then I'm sure everyone on my twitter would have been bored of me posting every time I did an awesome flip then shooting a cop in bullet time.

Couldn't be anymore 00's by having Evanescence on the credits.
