It was fun at first, but it really starts to get repetitive.
Did not play much of the second game though.

ELE TRAVO NO MEU PC BUAAAAA

It's a cool idea, but after the first 3 hours, it starts to be SO BOOOORING

for a few ten minutes I thought game was getting better but no. this game is just no.

Fine game, interesting concept but overall just meh.

A collection of 2 games that have an amazing concept that's unfortunately poorly executed. I only finished the first one due to it being pretty short, but the second one goes on for way too long. For a game that is supposed to showcase the evolution of action-adventure games, it rarely evolves from being a generic Zelda clone.

First one was cute until the last boss, which was kind of BS. The second one went off the rails trying to build a story around a concept, instead of the other way around. Boring and gimmicky as can be.

I like Evoland, specially 2. I know it's mostly just a mix of shallow interpretations of different gameplay styles, but I enjoyed it for what it was. The story also managed to surprise me a bit because I thought it would be nothing but jokes and references.
That being said, stay away from this version on PC. It's buggier, requires a launcher for some reason and you really gain nothing from not getting the games separately.

Evoland I: The gimmick concept is fantastic but even with the fun references to other RPGs it can't justify the short boring and tedious gameplay.

Played Evoland I and liked it enough to think about coming back for 2 eventually. Super cute homage to gaming history. Really short and a little too easy.

Both games have cool concepts, you just need to be very patient with them.

I suspect Evoland 1 will put many people off from the game before ever reaching Evoland 2 which would be a shame because it's a pretty solid game. I would probably recommend just skipping to Evoland 2 as they have nothing to do with each other apart from the graphical/gameplay changing over the course of the game.
As for Evoland 2, the reliance on reference humor wore thin but the game itself is good and surprisingly varied. The keyboard controls and UI are pretty clunky.
Overall I enjoyed Evoland 2 enough to be quite satisfied.

This is one of those games that has a really good idea but just can't stick the landing. The premise is that you're journeying through the history of RPG's and the world grows in complexity as you arrive at different generations of the genre, growing from sprites to 3D characters.

It's very charming in concept, but I recall that I quickly found myself stuck and had no idea how to continue. It has a lot of cute jokes and does the whole deconstruction of the genre thing well, but it's a genuine shame that I couldn't progress any further since it was fun while it lasted.

A great tribute to all RPG games. The concept is great but it's a bit clunky in execution.
I prefer the Evoland II to the I which has a real history and which is more mature in the formula.

Ratings for each game :
Evoland --> 2.5/5
Evoland II --> 3.5/5

Average Rating: 3/5

Evoland is great
Evoland 2.... not so much. Too long even

the first game is just short and cute, but the second is a small gem that's really worth the shot ! it can be a little confusing at times to follow the story imo tho

A really neat concept at first, seeing it evolve through different stages of video games, but once it gets pretty far evolved, it feels like just another RPG, and I lost interest
