GO FOR 200 POINTS!
Man, Game & Watch games are a lot more fun than I thought they would be.
1. Octopus
2. Oil Panic (bonus points for how hard the music goes)
3. Fire
4. Manhole

I love this game. All the game and watch gallery games show that simple little games like this can be so engaging.

(All games were ranked based on Hard Modern setting. In arguably all case the Modern versions of the games are superior to the Classics. And hard because I like a challenge, although admittedly for a lot of these game it kinda seems there's just 2 obstacles you can't get to at once)

4. Octopus
Probably the odd one out here. I can see all of the other games being really satisfying to get good at and get high scores, but it feels like this never really ramps up in difficultly. 1/5

3. Fire
The game is extremely simplistic. Much like Octopus, it doesn't have too many moving parts but it does have some difficulty spikes which is appreciated. 2.5/5

2. Oil Panic
There probably a bit too many moving parts here. With Mario needing to collect oil, and dump it out the right window, and not letting the buckets get too full, can be a bit much to keep track of but I can see some fun in getting good at it. Plus, now that Mario has 2 buckets, this is a game with significant gameplay improvements over its classic counter part as opposed to just visual. 3/5

1. Manhole
Again another game with significant gameplay improvements, now that the manholes stay up after pushing them and you have the ability to catch falling pedestrians. Feels like it has the most strategy out of any of these games. 3.5/5

Overall 2.5/5
It definitely could have used a 5th game seeing as all its sequels had 5 ,not including unlockable games and even the predecessor ,Game Boy Gallery, had 5. But still 3/4 of the games are pretty enjoyable and satisfying to get good at. Just a shame I never will.

it isn't much but it's cool to have a piece of nintendo history in your hand for way less money than buying all the g&w handhelds yourself, play they're fun time killers

6/10

One of the handful of Game Boy cartridges that I had, feel like I actually may have gotten this in box as a gift but maybe I’m making that up. A great collection of minigames, with Octopus being such a highlight. Played this so much, and it’s great to revisit.

the OST is 8-bit Brill Building!

"Octopus" practically samples "I Will Follow Him": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUiVkIr45GY

Octopus was my favorite, followed by Oil Panic, Manhole, and then Fire. Fire really confused me.

It's a sweet collection that pays respects to the classics! There's not a lot to do, but that's to be expected.

Alright little highscore game collection.

Pros: Four Games in one, but like, these "games" are small highscore based minigame-type of games, Game & Watch games, they're basic, but strangely addictive. Fire, Manhole, Oil Panic, and Octopus, each of which are all among the best of the Game & Watch line, so they chose a good four to include, and in addition to including the base G&W games, each game has a modern version, that has more fluid motion, easier to read visuals, great background music, and often a new gameplay twist or gimmick to spice things up. And these, are the real stars of the show, they provide enough variety to keep you on your tippy toes during fast paced high scoring sessions, as you try to achieve all the star collectibles by getting over 1000 points in each game. It's a great time, and also, they star the cast of the Mario series! Always fun.

Cons: Once again, basic as all heck. May be too basic for some, but for those that like these types of games, you'll be entertained. Also, four games is nowhere near as much as the sequels in this franchise provided. But what is there is good.

What it means to me: Not only did this game introduce me to Game & Watches, it's the game that really fleshed out the Mario universe for me, like, seeing the cast of Mario characters taking on different tasks, interacting with one another, it felt like a world. And I really got into the Mario universe thanks to this game (and hey, DK Jr. is there! I love that guy!). I remember car trips sitting in the back of a station wagon, playing this game over and over again, trying to reach those high scores... Fond memories.

Its a neat and fun novelty item but the games are still so basic and boring that I couldn't imagine dumping a lot of time into it. Not bad though

Pretty fun + Mario remakes for the original game and watch games so it's amazing, probably the best way to play them.

Great arcadey-type game. With the exception of Fire all the Mario remakes differentiate themselves from the original well enough to hold the same original idea, but are still different enough for both to be fun with their own appeal.

The Game & Watch games may not be LCD but they feel very authentic and are enjoyable. The Mario versions are filled with charm too. Overall it's just a solid collection of minigames and it's just a neat game.
