Probably the best Game & Watch game so far. Just clicked with it after a few seconds and was addicted to getting the highest score I could. There's something about jumping between the top and bottom screen while frantically multitasking that just hits different, and the fact it's not overly complicated helps a lot. It was just way easier for me to digest compared to other Game & Watch titles. Also, the premise is just kinda charming idk... Stanley :)

Greenhouse is one of the most well designed Game & Watch titles. The balance between the top screen and bottom screen is very tight but always fair, unlike other arcade-like LCD handhelds. It is available through Game & Watch Gallery 3 for Gameboy Colour or Game & Watch Collection for DS.

From a pure gameplay perspective Greenhouse is one of the best Game & Watch games. The gameplay is super simple while having some complexity and being addictive. In this game, you play as Mr. Game & Watch and you try to defend the plants from caterpillar-like animals and spiders. Shooting the caterpillars make them disappear completely (should mention they only spawn on the top screen), but shooting spiders makes them push back a bit and need several hits to kill (they only spawn on the bottom screen) which leaves the game to become like a juggling act. Do you hit the Spiders a lot of time at once, but cause the Caterpillars to go closer to the plants or hit them once, but they don't die and deal with the Caterpillars now. For this reason, the gameplay is really good.

However, what kills the game is for me is the fact the dying and gaining a life sound effects are AWFUL, they might be the worst I've ever heard in gaming so far. They screech loud and as someone whom is hearing impaired on my left side and is noise sensitive it sucks. Half of a Game & Watch game is hearing the beeps and the boops, but I feel like I should turn this to be muted as this could be dangerous. If you're in a car playing this game while someone is next to you or you're behind them the sudden screech could distract them causing injuries. My only other complaint with this game is the fact it does become a bit too repetitive at points especially since Game B is the same as Game A, but starts slightly later on.

Overall, I love this game's gameplay, but I feel like the loud screeches really kills the mood and I wish it had different SEs otherwise this would be my favourite Game&Watch game I've played thus far.

You go around this two-story greenhouse, shooting up bugs with bug spray to protect flowers, and despite the Donkey Kong 3 war flashbacks I got from the game, it is actually fun with how fast you gotta be when it comes to getting the bugs, so I appreciate it for keeping my interest in that regard.

Must be terrifying to be a sentient flower

Home of the annoying Up Air.

Fairly intricate for a Game and Watch title, with a lot to manage this time around. Pretty good way to spend 5 minutes. The risk/reward with letting them get close to earn more points is neat as is blowing wind further back to repel so you can go elsewhere while still playing it safe.

Still hate that Up Air though.
