Guitar Hero: Smash Hits is a blast from the past if you were a fan of the original games! It repackages some of the best songs from the early Guitar Hero titles with the master recordings, plus the ability to play drums or sing. But honestly, unless you're a diehard fan who missed out on those games the first time around or absolutely have to have those tracks, it feels more like a pricey DLC pack than a full game.

ну это просто набор песен из старых частей, здесь нечего ловить

Glorified DLC pack packaged as a full game. The setlist is fine, but that game is unneccesary as hell

Me rendeu ótimos momentosKKKKKKKKK

evidently I had this? IDK guitar hero is fun

I'm actually grateful for this game's existence considering I wasn't able to purchase DLC at the time (or anything online, for that matter) so picking a physical copy of this was a good option for me.

My 14 year old ass paid $60 for a bunch of old tracks I already owned.

Nice compilation of songs from Guitar Hero 1, 2, Encore: Rocks the 80's, 3: Legends of Rock and Aerosmith. It has classics like I Love Rock n Roll by Joan Jett from Guitar Hero 1 and Hit Me with your Best Shot by Pat Benatar from Guitar Hero 3. If you didn't get a chance to play the originals on the PlayStation and Xbox consoles, get this game if you have a Wii, PS2, PS3 and Xbox 360.

Guitar Hero's core gameplay is absolutely fantastic, but how much you enjoy a Guitar Hero game will depend on how much you vibe with the game's setlist.

The first two Guitar Hero games' setlist was comprised almost entirely of covers. Smash Hits' setlist is a compilation of songs from the first three Guitar Hero games, but the songs from 1 and 2 are the original versions this time, instead of covers. There's a lot of songs in Smash Hits that I really like, it's an all around really decent setlist.

The Guitar Hero cash cow was being milked dry

for the first time a few songs from the pre gh3 games are now playable.

bleh should've been dlc songs for 5 instead or smth

esse era o world tour só que com as melhores músicas dos games anteriores, o que faz com que ele tenha uma das melhores setlists mas a jogabilidade um pouco estranha por algum motivo

Games I Dislike That Everybody Else Likes

Gotta love full-priced DLC! Even as a Guitar-Hero-addicted 5th/6th grader at the time of release (because of course I pre-ordered it) this felt like the DeviantArt inflation-style oversaturation of a once-proud series for money. Six fucking games in the "Hero" series came out this year and this... was one of them (maybe even the weakest tbh). GH3 came out less than two years before this, did we really need a "Greatest Hits" tour of a game from the same fucking console generation? Even if you ignore how pointless this is, it's still - and I'm sorry to say this - ugly in that murky 'seventh-gen grit' way that many games at the time were. Setlist is objectively good but of course it is, that's like saying water is wet - it's still spotty even in spite of this because you're picking from games with already STACKED setlists so you'll inevitably be missing out on so many bangers, further solidifying this game's needlessness. Full-band support and master recordings are nice but if that's the only reason for this existing ($$$) then don't charge full price for what is essentially just an upgrade. Still leagues better than Rock Band Blitz and those awful DS games.

setlist dos ghs anteriores, nao tem como errar, claramente um cashgrab porem com a engine do world tour que era uma MERDA, mas tinha todos os instrumentos
resumindo
- engine merda
- segunda melhor setlist de todos os jogos
- todos os instrumentos com as setlist antiga
entao muito pica porem engine merda tira pontos

Guitar Hero Smash My Balls

I largely had fun with this on account of the setlist being pretty damn awesome, and getting to play these songs on drums along with guitar. That said, I understand why it's seen as being completely unnecessary because...yeah, they were really running out of ideas by this point.

Good, but definitely unnecessary. This game compiles various random songs from guitar heroes 1-3, rocks the 80s, and one song from aerosmith to make up its setlist. I guess the point of this game was to update those songs from those games by not only giving them full band support with new notecharts for all instruments, but also using the master tracks instead of the covers that the original games used. In that sense, this game has its purpose, and for some consoles this is the only way to play certain guitar hero songs from games locked to the PS2/X360 which is cool i guess. The PS2 version seems kinda pointless though, again unless having the masters and full band support matters that much to you. The career mode definitely gets rather challenging near the end, as you will be playing all the hardest songs from GH1, 2, 80s, and 3 all in a row, ending in a run of TTF&F that while definitely nerfed compared to its GH3 counterpart, you actually have to clear it to win this time so buckle up. All in all, def an inessential GH game but I still kinda had fun with it

just more guitar hero but it's the old songs this time with the original versions all in one game. It's a fun time but is just a side thing.

This engine and the charts sucks SO MUCH that is insane how much they suck. Good justice for the covers from GH1 and 2

Justice for the songs that got awful covers, but other than that it really didn't need to exist.

For a late term Activision GH, you really can't do too much better than this. Some of the best tracks dating back to the Harmonix versions with the master tracks. If I had to say any xbox360 GH was a must buy other than GH3 it would be this
