Still charming but only a shadow of the first one.

A cute lil' time that has plenty to offer, but there's not much that adheres to memory and the stuff that does isn't all too great

This game was fine. I have never played the first Luigi's Mansion game so I had no point of reference....But I played 3, and yeah this one is just kinda mid in comparison.

Why did they remaster Luigi's Mansion 1 just to put it on the 3DS? And why the fuck is THIS the one they're gonna put on the Switch???!

Ah, it's so they can put LM1 behind a paywall in the Nintendo Gamecube emulator for Nintendo Switch Online in 5 years, when nobody is fucking playing with this outdated piece of shit console anymore.

You have to admit, the scarescraper was so much fun with friends.

Minha nota se deve principalmente ao multiplayer do jogo, que só fui conhecer no última dia do online do 3DS. Me arrependi de não ter conhecido antes, pois o modo coop é MUITO divertido e dinâmico! Vai deixar saudades. :(

I wouldn't consider revisiting this game today, but it easily had the biggest impact on me out of the Trilogy.

I especially remember The Multiplayer being fun as shit, at least 30 of my hours were spent on that alone, Nothing really beats 4 different colored luigis fucking around in the ScareScraper.

actually hard carries my 3ds usage

My first Luigi’s Mansion game and boy did I love the absolute shit outta this thing.

I spent my entire time at secondary school playing THIS GAME, this game was my life support for the longest time.

I have always loved this game, but as an adult now, I DO understand the hate. I just still think it was so unnecessary to complain about a franchise no longer appealing to you, especially when there were other scarier franchises at the time.

Can’t wait for the HD version.

Dark Moon was unfortunately a step back from what I loved about LM1. Significantly less creepy & a lot more cumbersome to navigate. And by that I mean, the mission structure brings the exploration to a screeching halt more than I'd like. It's still got its strong points like great tunes & oodles of charm & personality, but it's still probably the weakest LM game in the series. Perhaps LM2 HD coming out in Summer 2024 will help change my mind on this one.

Average Mario adventure: Yippie got to defeat the big bad in this cute world! Average Luigi adventure: OMG THE DEAD HAS RISEN AND MY FREINDS ARE BOND TO PAINTING, THIS IS MY LITERAL NIGHTMARE. Other then being shocked over the Luigi's cardiovascular health, to not have died of a heart attack during these games, I actually did quite enjoy Dark Moon. The art style holds up well compared to the first, and feels more fun and Nintendo like, gameplay additions and tweaks make controlling the Poltergust much more enjoyable and functional, and the overall feeling and tone of the game are well polished. If anything I have to knock Dark Moon for having a very iffy difficulty curve; as in while it was overall on the easier side, it never felt consistent. This combined with the occasional performance issues work to lessen what could have easily been a 4.5 or closer to 5 rated game. Still great though, definitely worth a play some goofy Luigi fun!

Pretty fun and charming game.
You can tell Next Level Games were here if you played the Strikers games.

I love this game so much can't wait for the remake! :p

So fun and nostalgic, excited for the remaster

I spent so much time playing this game since I always wanted to play the series but didn't have a gamecube. Probably one of the coolest multiplayer modes ever, they cooked with that shit

they truly and honestly decided to remaster this game for the switch and not the first one. crazy work

Next Level Games is so heckin good at animation and characterization. Nintendo’s lucky to have them.

On the other hand, the mission structure of the game absolutely blows. It’s the most tedious game with the Nintendo branding on it. Almost never did I feel any momentum playing it. No wonder it took me literally a decade to finish this game.

Good fun if you desire more Luigi’s mansion content, but I definitely wouldn’t pay $60 for that HD remake.

i'm scared not by the ghosts but the fact I have to play this on a 3DS

My personal favourite in the series, though 3 is superior. Easily one of the most impressive titles pushed onto this tiny handheld, despite a few framerate drops in a few areas. I loved exploring all of these mansions and the mission structure really worked on the console it was launched on. Luigi is also bursting of charm here.

I have played LM3 a couple of years ago then moved into LM2. I feel this entry was weaker of the two games.
On a positive note, I am impressed with the graphics delivered on the 3DS. The animations is great along with the detail. I like how every room has a little bonus to find in a variety of ways. I also really enjoyed there is a variety of different mansions each having their own quirks.
Boss battles are interesting.
The main objection that makes it the weakest LM game is the gameplay structure. Prof. E Gadd seems to call you too often which is quite annoying. The mission structure takes away the immersion as you can constantly pulled out when you explore. Sure the mission structure helps in the plot but sadly the constant interruption from E Gadd as well as being taken out of the stage/mansion can be annoying as you want to continue.
I found the music is good but there is a very limited number of tracks repeatedly played.
I enjoyed the mechanics, the controls are tight and the game never overstayed it's welcome taking about 15 hours to finish. I recommend for a different take on the formula of LM1 and 3 even though it is not the strongest entry.

I wasn’t a big fan of the final boss section due to how annoying it is to hold the control stick for so long that your finger starts to slip off.

It doesn’t really make it big deal that it would hurt my overall score other than that it was a neat little story. Very lengthy as well!

Now for me to try this on the switch when it gets released to see what improvements they made to the gameplay mechanics.

This is I played when I was a lot younger, it brings me good memories and fun times. The game is very enjoyable and has a very fun OST. However the gameplay loop is very repetitive and can be tedious at times, the game also seems to drag on a little bit.

Having Luigi in 3D is a step closer to holding a small Luigi and being able to pet him

Cleared the game, captured the remaining Boos but did not collect the remaining Gems. On account of no longer having my 3DS, I will not be returning to this game, but if I later have regrets about never reaching "true completion" I might pick up the Switch remaster.

The haunting vibe of the original is lost completely. Alternate titles might be Luigi's Mansion: Ghostbusters or Luigi's Mansion Goes Corporate. I'd still say it's worth playing, and the soundtrack is very catchy, but it's clear this series has gone down a different direction than I'd have preferred. Say no to Halloweenification!
