An admirable but nevertheless inferior alternative to playing Mahjong in-person.

Being told by the game when you can steal stuff or when you're in tenpai makes it so you don't have to think as much, I've kept made hands I probably wouldn't have thought of making in regular mahjong, and it feels less engaging when the game holds my hand in those cases. Its also got usual netplay design issues, like instances where you get disconnected, your timer gets shorter and you end up unwillingly throwing tiles you want, or losing the aspect of being able to interact with/observe your fellow players instead of it being completely anonymous. Also the gacha is unnecessary and gross.

Either way, it's a good way to spend time when you're really bored.

playing this game is a form of self harm

has made me suicidal on several occasions

Funny chinese board game, truly our apex as humans.

The main reason I gained interest into Mahjong was because of the anime Akagi (which is amazing and you should go watch it)

Fun way to play Mahjong online. I'm not gonna explain how to play here but it's kind of like poker in a way but with multiple ways to build a "hand". Just playing through this game is how I learned to play Mahjong. Probably can't play in person too well since I'm used to the digital game blocking illegal moves.

Also I do enjoy the anime girl aesthetic a bit. Keeps the game cute looking and it's fun to spam high pitch sounds while someone is making a turn. Also really fun to have the Iwao Akagi collab character since he's an old ass motherfucker playing with cute anime girls. Here's hoping to a Kaiji collab or at least bringing back the Akagi collab so I can get the Akagi character

East 1 Repeat 3. audience stares at me in anticipation. the player to my west has shot himself in the head. player to my north disconnected to have sex. player to my east has an emoji macro off cooldown. he discards a 7-pin.

my greasy hands flip my tiles down to reveal my single wait riichi bet, value of 1 han. pants full of shit from anxiety, I stand up and face the crowd.
"Mahjong SOUL!"

Even if you don't wanna engage in the gacha, they're nice enough to give you the best character right from the start anyway, Ichihime is just perfect.
Also the game part is pretty fun too I guess!

i was in furiten but then my 80th gacha pull gave me sara so its a solid 4

yeah the game isn't (is) rigged (if i lose)

It's a Riichi Mahjong client with a gacha tacked on. I tend to score gacha games very low, but the fact that this game's gacha is entirely cosmetic means that you can ignore it and focus on learning and playing Mahjong. Besides, you start with the best character anyway.

Honestly, a super awesome beginner-friendly way to learning Riichi Mahjong. I wanted to learn how to play because I've been checking out the original famicom releases from 1983 and a mahjong game is one of them! I didn't want the cartridge just gathering dust on my shelf, so I asked a friend to help me learn how to play, and voila, wouldn't you know, he sends me to Mahjong Soul, and I couldn't be happier! Because of this website, I officially understand how to (shittily) play a game of Riichi Mahjong!

I'm someone who is super not into gacha or throwing anime girls into stuff randomly either, so the idea of Mahjong Soul initially didn't interest me too much, but honestly the way its all handled is marvelous! I truly expected it to be more intrusive with its gacha aspect, but ignoring it doesn't hinder the game at all for me. The girls can be a little annoying if I'm being super picky (nyaa~), but honestly they're fine characters, and they don't demand much attention. All together, Mahjong Soul is a really great way to learn, practice, and battle your friends in Riichi Mahjong!! It helps me understand the rules and what I can/can't do amazingly! Now I can't wait to kick some 1983 Famicom AI ass.

4/5

Who knew I'd whale in a Mahjong game.

The optimal way to play Mahjong Online.

agora eu entendo quando os lolzeiros falam "ain eu não consigo sair do bronze"

fun game, easy for me to pick up after putting down for a while. ive never played mahjong before this and i think the anime girls and bishoujens are. uh. Something? not really my thing. i appreciate that the game is less focused on gacha, though i wish it were easier to get new characters in general. i would love to get the dog guy but i will never spend money on a gacha.

that said, great game for teaching you mahjong & it lacks text chat so you won't get yelled at except maybe with reacts. i think it's better that way

can we get more furries, also? like just animal people? come on

Tem a Yagi Yui então é o melhor jogo de todos
