One of the best Monster Hunter but loses to World and rise.
It keeps the classic styles of Monster Hunter that has Muscle pose when drinking things, skills being activated once achieved 10 points, maps being separated by areas that needs loading each time you move, needs to throw paintball to pursue Monsters, etc...
This game has great ambientation, Soundtrack and created one of my favorite monster at MH series (Zinogre) so if you still like the classic style I recommend to play this one. but
unfortunately it does not have English port so you'll have to find patch to play it.

É um ótimo jogo, mas não faz meu tipo.

As the last Monster Hunter game released on the PSP, this entry adds a few new weapons and a whole roster of monsters. If you liked MHFU, you're going to love this game, which is why I recommend having it for your PSP backlog.

Really solid Monster Hunter game. If I was going to tell someone to go back and play an older game in the series, this is about the furthest back I would recommend.

Great roster of monsters, especially in comparison to Monster Hunter Tri. Also some great returning guys like Tigrex and Nargacuga, now with subspecies.

Game is a bit easy but it's also a lot of fun.

Monster Hunter Portable 3rd is one and if not, the greatest portable game of the MonHun franchise for the PSP. It has a lot to offer, from updated graphics and assets to better and semi-optimize hitboxes. It might be a short game with no G-Rank included, still it can go on par with the latest MH generations.

The new village 'Yukumo' is also a great addition to the series since the village itself has this warm and homely feeling to it every time I finish a quest, and the last time I felt this feeling for a village was with Pokke Village from Monster Hunter Portable 2nd or Freedom Unite. In addition, the new weapon that is part of Monster Hunter Tri which is a Switch Axe is also a great weapon and it didn't lack anything from its previous predecessor in the Tri and Tri Ultimate games.

The story is still the same old Monster Hunter formula with a new big bad flagship monster ZINOGRE and the amazing elder dragon AMATSU. This two monsters are a great addition to the MonHun's ever growing roster since I enjoyed fighting both Zinogre and Amatsu. First, Zinogre was one hell of a fight, I love every second of it, let's not also forget Zinogre's theme which still now hold its title as one of the greatest monster theme in the franchise. Next, fighting Amatsu feels like I'm fighting a god, for me I love boss battles when its 'against all odds' and yet Amatsu delivered that feeling in Portable 3rd! Lastly, the gameplay may be a little clanky and the graphics may be outdated, the game still delivers its title as the best Portable game of the monster hunter franchise.

In the end, Monster Hunter Portable 3rd is a solid PSP game and a solid Monster Hunter game, and it still has the essence of Monster Hunter.

The birth of my favorite weapon and one of my favorite ascetics There's quite a few things I didn't like(The dango system, the lack of gathering, the lack of monsters, etc.)

Thats one are amazing monster hunter game, Zinogre and Amatsu are my favorite by the way!

My favorite of the classic Monster Hunters. It really struck the right balance between FU and how the series progressed.

If Portable 3rd had a G version it would be the definitive classic Monster Hunter. 2ndG is marred by its technical execution, 3G features the contentious swimming, and 4G onwards added verticality to the arenas at the expense of some monsters not being adequately retooled to have their attacks accommodate the new potential height disparities.
The locales in P3rd are gorgeous, with a very lush color palette. This is also the point in the series where subspecies became slightly more than recolors with one or two new moves, this time featuring alternate elemental affinities. The new town, farm, and bathhouse/guildhall are maximally comfy too. Genuinely the only reason this game isn't 5 stars is due to my disappointment that the ideal version including G-rank doesn't exist.

- One of the best Monster Hunter games of the 3rd generation
- Upgraded features from previous monster hunter games, including new gameplay mechanics and weapons
- Its Portable! on PSP
- Have a massive hunting quest

I just adore 3rd gen Monster Hunter. The music, art direction, and monsters are just peak MH. Portable 3rd is absolutely gorgeous for a psp game and plays wonderfully, especially with tweaks via the excellent ppsspp emulator (seriously, that thing is almost Dolphin-tier). As much as I love Sunbreaks complex, high-speed combat, I do find a lot of comfort in this game's simplicity. It also has the coolest Hunting Horn ever: the Darkest Coffin!
Oh yeah, and this game has the best farm in the whole series. Just the right amount of convenience to avoid feeling like a chore. It just feels like home, and I can say that about the whole game.

Easily my go to game to introduce someone to classic Monster Hunter, perfect difficulty that eases players into learning the game, great variety, and some of the greatest graphics on the PSP. Get yourself the english patch and a cheap copy of the game and have a good time.

Unfortunately forever without an English port. Arguably the easiest Monster Hunter game to date but chock full of charm. No wonder this is a fan favorite title.

Played this for like 700 hours back in the day. Never received a G-Rank sadly. Great game.

i remember that one time when i was really sick and this is the only game i play, it always have a special place in my heart.

(beat village Zinogre, got the credits) This is the comfiest Mon Hun, mainly because it's the easiest game in the series and the controls finally started to feel good. God bless the PSP for fixing this series' controls. Anyways this is basically just Tri but easier and streamlined.

Played very little but it's probably the best game ever or something

La découverte du Zinogre, quel plaisir (et la découverte du hacking de console et des patch jp vers fr mais on passera ça sous silence).

My first ever Monster Hunter game that I've finished in 3 years. Thank you Uzuoku and Falcon Vade for co-oping this one with me.

Easier than 2nd and G with less content but there's plenty of missions.
Gameplay is much better with adjusted hitboxes and some new moves for every weapon. Need to do almost all the missions to kill all the monsters.
Amatsu and alatreon fights were pretty good.

PS: I miss the Pleshiot ;_;

After playing MHFU, i fell in love with this game because the hitboxes don't suck ass and there are no vespoids.
An upgrade to all that came before and a step in the right direction for the games that came after it.

A considerate upgrade in terms of content compared to Monster Hunter Tri for the Wii but the unique online mode was lost due to being restricted to a handheld.

MHtri'nin berbat çıkışını tamamen düzelten bir oyun. Monster Hunter serisinin en iyi oyunlarından.

I am now farm-pilled. I love coming home and doing chores after work! In this game, not in real life.

So much fun to play and so addicting. Has some truly epic fights and the village really stands out amond monster hunter villages
