El juego que me compraron porque quería un perro y no me iban a dar uno de verdad.

Release Springer Spaniel & Friends you cowards

this one has the best selection of dog breeds out of all of the DS games, in my opinion. speaking about all of the games, though: the microphone's already a bit tricky on original hardware and becomes more of an issue if you're emulating, but using melonDS and speaking closely to your microphone helps mitigate that. i have no idea how an accent or impediment would affect things though, i'm from one of the most mild-sounding places in the united states with no speech issues and had no problems with it recognizing what i was saying.

for what it is, it does its job well and i have zero complaints. if you don't like this game, i think it's an issue with you not liking the "virtual pet" genre as a whole. it doesn't help if you're playing this for the first time as an adult who never had any childhood interest in it.

These games have a lot of hype behind them that i dont quite understand. i think they must have been neat for when they released, but now its less impressive in the sea of nintendogs clones that exist. these games still probably have the highest quality out of any in the genre though.

i stopped playing this game after a hard week of school bc i assumed my dog starved to death like a tamagotchi. he very well may have idk at this point

The most BEAUTIFUL game to ever exist. i put in so much care & love into these pixel dogs & they will forever live on in my heart...... those championships were hell though i just got my brother to do them for me (we won)
also this might be a stretch but the nintendogs ost might be one of the best osts ... ever????? whats not to love about the bathtime songs ... the shop music does make me cry though but its so cute I love nintendogs shoutout to nintendogs

Cool to talk to your dog but there was like nothing to do.

Still waiting for dachshund to be playable in smash. Also I’m counting this as completed because I played the absolute fuck out of this growing up

If you're looking for a game where you can pet and walk virtual dogs this is exactly that. The dogs look really good, and when you pet them you can tell they enjoy it. You can play with them, take them on walks, wash them, and even do a few silly side activities with them. It's not much more than that, but for what it is it's really good.

This was an adorable puppy simulator for children who weren't allowed to have pets growing up!

I distinctly remember telling my mom that this game taught me "responsibility," so I should be allowed to play it every few hours during the day. As a result, I got to get in some gaming, even during study hours. I remember that the dog becomes sad and dirty and will even dislike the player if uncared for.

Goodness... After all these years, I can't imagine what a sorry state my dachshund is in.

this game was the reason i bought a ds lol

This game series really made me want a dog as a kid. I wanted all the collectibles and hats.

my apologies to these poor dogs- I’m sorry that i gave all of you horrendous names

Creo que es este el que tengo en casa, primero juego que jugué peak peak peak peak peak

I'm not sure if I put more hours into any DS game I owned more than this one. I adored this game and all the little dogs I had. My only regret is that I was never able to find the RC helicopter or any mario karts. I definitely wanna go back one day and find them finally

literally eaten by my real dog at the time

If you're willing to spend 5 to 15min of your day playing this game, it becomes this wholesome companion you can play with and take care of, while avoiding the hardships and sacrifices a real pet brings. A smart game that makes the most out of the virtual pet genre while staying in a well-known environment for anyone around the world. Great game overall.

This shit was ADORABLE.

If they made a better one for the Switch I would buy it for my daughter on DAY ONE. It can't take THAT much effort. I really feel like Nintendo is just leaving money on the table.

I should feed Patrick the Shih Tzu, he's been chilling in my DS cartridge for over 14 years

i still have my first dog in this game im sure it's the oldest game file i have. love u lucky. bestest boy

bb got for me played with dog and then broke 3ds

Between the stellar character progression and sophisticated plot, this is, to this day, the greatest video game of all time.

Dachshund enthusiasts will love this game. I am not kidding.

when i was a kid i was trying to name my golden retriever "golden" and it wasn't working so i let my step-sister play for a while and when i got my game back she'd named my dog something else and i was furious
