same as the first one but now I'm older and my timings are slower

I enjoyed the first one. Never completed it, but soldiered on and completed this one, odd choices of side games included!

This game is basically a rhythm game with a coat of paint of Kung Fu. The gameplay is simple and can be learnt fast, and there's a level up system that helps on harder stages once you start getting upgrades, and compared to other similar games, this one felt easy enough to fully complete for someone like me who's not into rhythm games.

The game feels like a passion project, with rewards for completing side content like interviews with the two people behind the creation of this game, which is a lot better than what most games offer as a reward for 100% completion. Also, all the art that they created for the game just shouts "hey, we wanted this game to have its own core identity, even if it wasn't needed at all".

The only concern I find is that the gameplay can be repetitive, there's gimmick phases, but they're too similar to the main ones so there's not enough variety for a game that took me 25 hours to complete.

very barebones but fun concept, this gonna break your fingers i swear to god

One Finger Death Punch 2 is a masterpiece of minimalism in video game design. It's also unironically awesome which I find very refreshing in this day and age.

Remember those wild stick animations on newgrounds you saw growing up?. What if that...but YOU were the stickman.

This is a trophy hunting review

Honestly the game starts off pretty fun and actionpacked, similar to the first entry in the series. But the grind towards plat is a bit boring and many trophies are buggy.

It's exactly what you think it is. Play while listening to a video essay and it's fun enough.

Pretty fun. Very similar to the first one. Basically like a good game to play while doing something else. Only requires one hand.

rhythm games if they were badass

It's a pretty shallow rhythm based fighter. Love the art style and there are a decent variety of enemies, but you'd think they would add much more challenge and would spice up the gameplay much more than they do. They just get essentially become the same enemy but they go behind you and take two hits to defeat instead. Style over substance is true for this game. It is still pretty fun in spurts though, it's certainly not bad. It was good enough were I played a decent amount of it and enjoyed my time. 3 ★

Like the first game with more options, content, and animations. Still a very fun game to play in short bursts and one that allows you to control the speed and different options for better accessibility for visuals and gameplay.

The skill system is poorly thought out.

Cute game. A more refined gameplay loop than the original, which one would expect from a sequel. The game does a great job of getting you from out of one round and into the next one quickly so you don't feel like you're slowing down.

The map mode was one map longer than it should have been as the final map just felt like a chore to slog through at times. The game sometimes throws brawlers at you that have incredibly long hit sequences (I think it says Nemesis on the screen for these?) and they're so long that they really break the flow of a good round. It can also sometimes batch brawlers and/or bosses together and those are only fun when you use a revenge token because it gives you more time to regenerate health. I appreciated the ability to slow the speed down, but on the final map there were still times when it was too much to keep up with. From an accessibility standpoint this might represent a problem for some players.

Watch the ending video. It was extremely wholesome. I look forward to seeing the future games these devs put out.
