Monty is probably doing kickflips in his grave over this

This is the most basic and boring Metroidvania possible with tedious fetch quests that pad it out. The only thing that gives this game any value is that it's RWBY so of course it has good music and that the cutscenes look like they are straight out of the show. Still, this isn't even worth getting on sale.

a decent time, but rather lackluster. you have to be a rwby fan to get the most out of this.

one of these days wayforward will make a fun game again

how do you look at a show with the coolest movement and fighting in any show ever and think "yeah let's make a boring platformer"
this coulda been celeste with badass fighting and instead its sonic 4

As a huge RWBY fan, I got this game as soon as it was released on Steam.

This game is far from perfect, but I actually had fun with it until the end!

It comes with cinematics as if they come from the actual show, the story is canon (if you don't watch RWBY, you'll be lost on this one, so... GO WATCH RWBY FIRST!), we can play with the 4 characters (Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang) and swap them anytime to use their special attacks, the boss fights were tricky, the game is a Metroidvania, and the soundtrack is nice and comes with an exclusive new song composed by Jeff Williams and with Cassie's vocals!

The downs are that I find it kinda annoying that we get damage just by getting near an enemy's hitbox without him/her even attacking! There are minor bugs (like if you jump on a platform near the ceiling, you can slide around without falling, basically getting you stuck there, but this can be solved by switching characters).

Overall, it's a nice game to play if you are a RWBY fan, but I preferred RWBY: Grimm Eclipse over this one (plus Grimm Eclipse had co-op to make it even better).

[Ref Played 2023] It's no Grimm Eclipse, I'd recommend to any RWBY fan that doesn't dislike Metroidvanias
Pros: Gameplay is solid enough, better than you'd expect from a licensed game though far from perfect. Art style is pretty okay and the voice acting is good, based on the plot of the show this was a pretty good place to insert an extra story
Cons: The music is good enough in the context of this style of games but compared the the normal RWBY OSTs it's really weak. The plot is a lot better than Grimm Eclipse's but not close to the quality of the show/ main books and is largely irrelevant to the larger world

Developed by WayForward, RWBY: Arrowfell is a 2D action and platform game, which explores the history of the RWBY series during the protagonists' stay in Atlas. The game is segmented by levels, and features four protagonists, each with a different play style and weapon. With a presentation that perfectly adapts the aesthetics of the original series, the game will delight fans. It should be noted, however, that the gameplay can be simple for most players, without any special features.

Fetch Quest: The Video Game + easy platinum

it SADDENS my 'RWBY SOUL' but this one's unfortunately pretty unremarkable!!! I was hoping for some CASTLEVANIA PORTRAIT OF RUIN type shit; where you'd be swapping characters constantly like a mad man to utilize fun rwby branded attacks and mobility options, but it just kinda all feels real stiff and uninvolving! (yang SUCKS LOL. they did our "sir" dirty......)

witnessing tha girlz go on literal 'VIDEO GAME FETCH QUEST' tier adventures for the plot, and the thing not being anywhere CLOSE to the level of stylishness you'd want from an aCTUAL RWBY EXPERIENCE doesn't inspire much enjoyment either!!!

misery and pain for all! nothing to see here!!!
