Scarface the world is yours is a pretty good game and recommend for people that like gta and the original movie. The story is a cool what If tony survived at the end of the movie and plotted revenge on Sosa. I feel like this a cool take on licensed games even if it cheapens the ending of the movie a bit. The gameplay has couple interesting gameplay mechanics that helps it stand out from Gta and accentuate tony like the balls meter, the way drug deals work, and other stuff makes it feel like the gamemakers were big fans of the movie and wanted to put that in a ps2. One issue is how tedious it can get for money and building your empire can be a drag at times. But overall scarface the world is yours Is a good gta clone and if you have the means you should play it.

Alternate reality where you smoke the fucker who shot Tony in the back? Genius!

The World Is Yours Chico And Everything In It

YOU WANNA A WAR??? OK I TAKE YOU TO WAR!!!

Let us start with the main negative – Scarface: The World Is Yours is simply a port of a year-old PS2 and Xbox game. That said, a good game is most often a good game no matter what platform it’s on and, unlike Prince of Persia: Rival Swords, Scarface doesn’t try to hide that. In Scarface, you take control of Tony Montana in the final scenes of the film – straight after “Say hello to my little friend” – and fight your way out of the mansion (rather than ending up sleeping with the fishes). The rest of the game takes place 3 months after this, where Tony has lost everything and must reclaim what’s his and get revenge on Sosa. There are no extras for the Wii version, so the main difference this time is the controls.

The main functionality is the pointer used for aiming and the camera. You chose between 4 different sized bounding boxes to get the right balance of aiming and camera control (the start of the tutorial lets you cycle through the modes without needing to change it on a menu – making it easy to select the right one for you). The pointer functionality works well, and if you point off-screen the camera will “reset” itself to a default camera, which is great for walking around – you can rest your arm like this. You can also use Z to lock-on to enemies, and mixing lock-on and manual aiming works great. Melee weapons are used by holding down B and waving the remote – unfortunately the chainsaw isn’t pulled off as well as it could have, as the controller doesn’t rumble when it’s active and no chainsaw noise comes out from the speaker.

The nunchuck’s motion sensor is used for taunting, which feels good when someone hits your car and it’s not your fault. The taunt is also mapped to a quick press of the A-button, which you hold to run. On a few occasions, Tony taunted (and he walks very slowly while taunting) when I wanted to run, but most of the time it works well. Speaking of driving, the layout of the Wii Remote & Nunchuck makes driving around randomly very relaxing, as your hands are not cooped up together. Aiming while driving is also made possible thanks to the remote – acceleration, turning, aiming and shooting is simply impossible on traditional controllers.

The missions in Scarface are split up into three main types. First are the standard missions you select from Tony’s satellite phone. There’s a bit of variation, but before too long you’ve done most of the different types. Some involve beating someone up, finding a gang hideout and killing them all; others require you protecting someone; basically they all require driving somewhere and shooting people, then driving away. The variation improves as you purchase a driver, enforcer and assassin – you can take control of each one and perform missions that are specific to each one. Completing the standard missions will get you supplies of cocaine, which you can sell on the street or to your fronts.

Fronts are basically businesses you can purchase. Before doing so, you must complete a mission. These missions are quite varied. One involves protecting the store from gangs, another involves sniping a target and another involves ramming someone off the road, and beating him up to get something off him. After completing the mission; you can purchase the place to use as a drugs front and to take over each part of Miami.

The missions which advance the plot are more like a normal action-adventure shooter than a free-roaming game, and usually take place in buildings, involving shooting your way past a small army to your target. This is where having balls becomes vital. Tony Montana has a “Balls Metre”, which he fills up by shooting people in specific places like the groin or kidney (extra balls are given for not using the lock-on), taunting after you shoot someone, completing conversations with civilians (who you can’t kill when playing as Tony – it’s not his style – but you can when you play as the secondary characters like the driver), and driving Burnout-style. When the Balls Metre is full, you can shake the nunchuck to enter “Blind Rage” mode. When Blind Rage is triggered, the game temporarily enters a first person viewpoint, and makes Tony invincible and gives him infinite ammo. Killing people while Blind Rage is active also gains Tony’s health back, so it’s best used when Tony is low on health. Blind Rage is vital for the more difficult missions.

You also have to keep an eye on the “Gang Heat” and “Cop Heat” metres. They basically show how much rival gangs and the police want you dead. You can reduce this heat by bribes, or intimidating gangs and sweet talking cops. Both of these make use of a special metre – You hold A to fill up the metre (it fills up, then “empties” itself just after its full), then let go. The aim is to get the bar as full as possible – there are different “success” rates on the bar, so getting a full bar will get the best possible result, and an empty bar will get you the worst possible result. This is also used for many other things in the game – such as laundering your money in a bank (if you die, you lose all the money not in the bank) to get various rates (the bank takes a percentage of the money you put in for itself) – this adds a lot of immersion into the game, as opposed to simply pressing a button to get one pre-set result.

The in-game Miami feels fairly large to start off with, but the sense of freedom is somewhat ruined, as there is pretty much only one route around the place – most of Miami is one big road with some side-streets (that mainly require you to get back on the main road where you get off), others are housing estates which may as well be one road with a few side-streets. It looks rather nice, too, particularly in the day (thanks to some good lighting). The cars are sufficiently detailed but the character models, however, are rather poor, and there isn’t much variation at all.

Another aim of the game is to improve your reputation. You do this by completing the main missions and purchasing “exotics”, ranging from henchmen, to decorations for your mansion to cars and boats. Cars and boats that you buy are then available from the driver menu, accessible anywhere in the game, minus plot-developing missions, so you always have a car nearby after a quick phone call – stealing cars bump up your cop heat. Once destroyed, you have the option of repairing the car, but this costs money for all but the default car. The default car is the so-called “QM Convertible” (cars are based on real ones, but with fake names, as always for these games) from the original move – complete with tiger skin innards.

That’s another thing that Scarface: The World Is Yours excels at – it retains the feeling of the movie. There’s a massive amount of swearing and gore when needed. The main character model looks like Tony Montana, walks like Tony Montana and talks like Tony Montana. Even though Al Pacino doesn’t do the voice work, he also sounds just like Tony Montana – the sound-alike really does sound like him. Al Pachino helped to pick him, too. The soundtrack uses music from the same time-frame as the movie, and includes music from the movie itself, so the soundtrack is rather fitting.

So, overall, Scarface is a pretty darn good game. There’s plenty to do, and it’s a lot of fun too. There a few problems and a little lack of variation, but the game works very well on the Wii. If you’ve already completed the game on another console, don’t bother. There isn’t anything new here. For those who are fans of Scarface, as well as fans of the genre, it’s well worth a look. There’s already two similar games on the Wii – Godfather and Driver: Parallel Lines – but this one is probably the best choice. There is an awful lot to Scarface, and always plenty of different things to do. Miami could have a better layout in the game, but other than that there isn’t really anything the game does wrong. Besides, none of the others have its own swear button.

One of the best film to video game adaptations

Ana görevleri yapmak için yan görevi zorunlu tutan geliştiricinin ta amk (ama oyun güzel)

Yes, a Vice City clone in a way, but it’s actually a lot more than that and in fact, I actually have to say this is better than Vice City. I loved the Scarface movie, so I knew I was going to love this game too.

This is a fantastic example of you take a What-If scenario and execute it. I love the idea of Tony surviving the mansion shootout and rebuilding his empire to get revenge on Sosa. It’s so awesome to come back and take down all those other guys too, like the Diaz Brothers, Nacho Contras, Gaspar Gomez, and Tony’s scumbag of a lawyer, George Sheffield. The game has amazing progression. You build relationships with people on the street, you get the money, power, and the women, and you can hear how desperate and worried Sosa is with each passing phone call. This shows how Tony learned from his mistake and now the tables turned. Tony definitely learned from his mistakes in the movie. He’s no longer a drug addict and you can hear him regret killing Manny in some dialogue. Sosa still was intimidating, so his phone calls had my worried with how hard he was going to be to fight. I was right because his thugs were no joke, but killing him was easy since I went straight for the head. I wish there was more to the story, but you really do connect with the criminal empire aspect of the game, so that makes up for it.

Scarface was the perfect theme for a criminal empire game to take on and having this be a What-If makes the experience worth it instead of just having it get undermined because Tony died in the film. I love doing distribution missions and walking into the bank to launder millions of dollars into my account like a boss. It’s so fun and it really feels like a game a chance because anything can happen. You’ll have some good days, but there are going to be bad days too and believe, I had a lot of bad days, either me getting killed from a freaking chainsaw (God, I hate those things in this game), getting ambushed from a pissed off gang, or having the car blow up with all the money and drugs in there. This game really captures how hard it is to build a criminal empire and I love it. At first, you have to get cocaine from small-time drug dealers, but by the end, you grow it. You have to get money to buy things and it’s thrilling once you get everything. You have an entire criminal empire, you got revenge on everyone, you own so much stuff, and you have sexy bodyguards once you get 100%. The only problem I have with this aspect of the game is that some businesses get attacked way too often, such as the U-Gin Shotgun Bar. That place got attacked so many times, like who would want to go there now that it’s the most dangerous bar in Miami? Same with Cabana Cigar. I mean, come on, do people really hate that place so much? I also feel the cops are way too aggressive in this game. They can get to the point where they’ll just kill you. And it’s just over a car chase most of the time.

There’s something about the gameplay that makes it so addicting. Tony’s superpower move is really badass because you are invincible and you can kill anyone in seconds without losing bullets. Tony is like the grandfather of Trevor from GTA 5. This game is really crazy. You can shoot off someone’s left nut with a SAW from a distance. I love how different each gun feels so that you can get your own style of what you want. For me, I chose a SAW because that thing obliterates. You also get to taunt your victims and feel awesome. The Pimp Your Mansion feature was an interesting idea, but your items you place down despawn and you have to rebut them and unique items can’t be rebought. If you want a house designing game, just play Sims and make the Scarface mansion there. You also can’t jump, but there’s not really a need to do it in this game, but if there is ever a remaster, it should be added in there. The textures have seen better days, but at least they have that realistic impression. Besides, there’s a mod for PC players that can update the textures. The suits you can wear are awesome. I wish we had more to chose from than what we see in the movie, but it’s fine. There’s an issue with the frame rate switching from smooth to clippy, it doesn’t take away from the experience because the game still works just as fine.

The voice actors did an excellent job at their roles. There’s no way anyone can replace Al Pacino as Tony Montana, but Andre Sogliuzzo did a great job in the role. He was handpicked by Pacino and it’s clear he made the right choice because sometimes, I think it’s Pacino saying the lines. I could say the same thing for Robert Davi as Sosa. He was really intimidating in the role and such a worthy replacement for Paul Shenar. I like that this game finds a way to get Steven Bauer in the mix without him playing Manny since he’s dead, so he plays The Sandman, another drug empire kingpin that helps you get to Sosa. Robert Loggia, who played Frank in the movie, provides some great narration for the first time you enter a business that you’re about to buy.

This game has such an excellent soundtrack too. Along with the movie OST, there is a lot more. Definitely as good as Vice City and San Andreas’ soundtrack in my opinion.

Scarface: The World Is Yours is truly an underrated gem. It’s a big chicken, just waiting to get plucked. It has nitpicks, but it’s the perfect criminal empire building game. The sequel would’ve been awesome to have since it would’ve been set in Las Vegas and it looks like it had better gameplay than The World Is Yours, but I could only dream what it could’ve been. I am still happy with what I got with this game. It definitely deserves a remaster because this game is such an amazing experience.

I was hyped to play Scarface the game itself, because of the brilliant movie and because of the 80’s Miami vibe. The beginning made sense but after 5 or 6 hours of playing, I got bored because of the storyline. Am I right that the most important thing to do is to take over various districts right? You earn money by take out gangs and sell drugs to gain more money. After that you buy businesses and do everything again and again. That’s what I understand. Buying businesses sounds interesting, but from what I experienced is that it doesn’t really reward you for the amount of money you invest in it. For example, when you buy a property in GTA Vice City, you get rewarded with your investment but in this game it doesn’t really make sense (correct me if I’m wrong). The best thing about this game for me is the Soundtrack and the weapons versus the shooting combat. Unfortunately I had higher expectations from this title.

Um GTA Vice City wannabe, lembro que não conseguia passar do começo porque uma onça ficava me matando direto.

me (a film expert) (also a videogame expert): this character's name is tony montana

the best "GTA clone" out there
cant help but love tony

As a Scarface fan, a total disappointment...

my little sister always thought she drived the cars, but in reality her controller was turned off lmao. she still hates me for that

Arguably a better GTA game than most actual GTA games.

Genuinely one of the better crime sandbox games and at the top of the GTA-likes stack. Great soundtrack, great grasp of tone, shooting that remains fun throughout thanks to a unique aiming system, and some of the best vehicle handling I've experienced in a game; drifting has never felt better. The downsides are mostly in the progression department, and the story isn't anything special once you get past the extremely clever opening that subverts the end of the film

Set in the complex world of excess and greed of the epic movie Scarface, players take on the role of Tony Montana, one of the most ruthless gangsters depicted in the movie. The game's cast also includes Steven Bauer, Jay Mohr and Cheech Marin as Manny Ray from the movie, and James Woods, Miguel Sandoval, Robert Davi, Michael Rappaport and Michael York. The game has an average of 20 hours of gameplay with side content.

Fun fact they say fuck 5699 times

Spent a few hours with the Remastered Project on PC, and it's a really great piece of work. A vibrant update with beautiful new textures, full HD support, widescreen fixes, modern controls, and great performance on even a modest desktop. A top notch way to revisit (or maybe play for the first time) a gem of a B-game. I don't see myself finishing the game again as it's quite grindy, but I'll definitely keep this installed for an occasional Miami rampage when the mood hits.

Side note: don't bother trying to get this going on Steam Deck. I spent a lot of time tinkering with it and it never came close. The modded version is a no-go, but the vanilla PC version is unplayable without mods. A tonne of reddit threads are out there saying the same thing, and it's not something the mod team are actively working on. So save yourself some time and go straight to a Windows device.

Ahead of its time, has game mechanics that today are seen as revolutionary.

Maybe you can handle yourself one of them first-class tickets to the Resurrection.....

I played this game with the Remastered Projected in mind. Apart from that it was a pretty Vanilla experience. I had this game on a bounty because I never thought to beat it as a kid. It was really challenging and I am glad to have come back and finished the job. Scarface the world is yours is similar in GTA about its asset missions and that is about it. Most people say its a GTA clone but I feel like it stands out alone to which its more of a Drug Sim Empire kind of experience. What is there is really good. Haggling people as well as smuggling Ye-Yo overseas is pretty fun, but only the first couple of times. I feel like where this game struggles is its repetitive nature just to access the rest of the game. A lot of its system relies on the reputation meter which gives you more and more unlocks by buying exotics or businesses. You do a lot of rinse and repeat in this game which sounds good on paper and makes it seem like you are growing an empire but that's really all the game offers. I will say the shooting is WAY ahead of its time. It feels really good from the Carbine to the shotgun. Probably the best feeling shotgun I have played in a while lol. Celebrity Cameos are all over the place here but they only serve for a scene or two besides 2 characters who serve as "antagonists". Music is pretty good and has a lot of variety but I was mixed if it really fit into a "Scarface" game. Overall not a bad game, not a terrible game. Its a very interesting game. If you love Scarface, I think you will enjoy the "What if" this game has to offer and take revenge on Sosa. Apart from its repetitive nature I always kept coming back cause I love seeing Millions of dollars splashing on my screen lol

Starting this game at the film's endpoint and immediately letting you gun down all your enemies while a "balls" meter fills up is funnier than any intentional parody of this era of games could possibly be

This game is great fun to play, despite its look. The Story takes place after the movie and is an alternate timeline to see what might have happened had Tony Montana not died at the end of the film, this is a clever way to let people have fun with the open world without being restricted by the movie. The Characters from the movie also sound either just like their counterparts or just great impersonations through their voice acting, the new characters are also great, they feel they fit in this world and have 3 dimensional personalities despite them not being in the game much. The Graphics are the worst thing in this game, their bad, models look unrecognizable outside of Tony himself, there like almost no textures to parts of things, the environment has a good color scheme. The Controls are a bit stiff and don't feel natural like the GTA games or the Godfather game do, when shooting people, the screen tells you where they were shot, and there is satisfactory in shooting enemies, but there isn't an auto aim. The gameplay is the best part of the game, you go around building your empire again and kill rival gang leaders, you can buy drugs with a timing game that determine the amount you can haggle between buying and selling, you can use this for intimidating people, you can do a mission for the current owner of a business, and they will let you buy their establishments, so you can make money doing nothing while a manager takes care of it for you, you can pay for extra security for each one including your mansion, you can do gang wars and take territory from other gangs, they can also attack your establishments, damage will cause you to have to buy the damages, if you make money illegally you take it to the bank to have it laundered, interest rates are effected by the dame mechanic as the drugs minigame, and be careful when you commit crimes, because you have to pay off any heat you have, or it will never go away and not only will random cops and gangsters will come after you, but the price to pay the heat away gets bigger as the game goes on, the drug mechanic comes back if you have to fast talk a cop too, this helps with heat a bit, and, you can buy exotics, furniture and garages to deliver imports around the city and even getting balls improves peoples respect for you too. All these are really fun and get you into the Scarface world. The Music choices when you're driving are copyrighted tracks, which just like GTA are great songs and fit a different type of atmosphere you can come across in the game. Scarface: The World Is Yours can be your if you like great gangster games and can look past bad graphics to bring you a great time, and satisfaction to the Scarface fans.
