Добротный перезапуск, но всё-таки кажется чутка затянутым

OH HOW I FREAKING LOVE FIGHTING BERSERKERS! The constant dash strafing, clumsily double tapping keys to heal, waiting until they turn their back to shoot them with a crossbow bolt. It's all so wonderful. Even better when there is two of them, or better yet, together with two shamans and two warlords. WONDERFUL.

Sorry about that, I needed to vent. The game is fine I guess.

Honestly, I'm feeling somewhat drained from playing this game, much like my experience with Doom yesterday. The constant search for keys to unlock doors and the repetitive combat, where I ended up relying mostly on a sword, have left me feeling weary. Additionally, the lack of variety in enemies, especially the absence of mini-bosses or other challenges, contributes to the monotony.

And don't even get me started on the mobs in the final stage – what's up with that?

The only aspect that I find truly enjoyable is the witty banter and humor exchanged between Lo Wang and Hoji. Their interactions add a refreshing touch to an otherwise lackluster experience. Surprisingly, when the story takes a more serious turn, it actually becomes less engaging, further dampening my enthusiasm for the game.

Got about 3 hours in before calling it quits. It didn't hook me with the characters, the gameplay, or the level design.

I tried to like this game, but playing through it felt more like a chore than being fun. It plays similar to DOOM 2016 but it's worse. Dialogue is a bit annoying at times but it was ok overall. Levels were fine but the some of the enemies were annoying with some of the most insane range. I'm certain some of them have the distance of ICBMs. The katana didn't feel particularly amazing to use even with upgrades which was kind of disappointing.

I just ended up getting bored playing through the game but I think part of that is down to it feeling a bit dated overall with a story that didn't interest me.

Chinese doom. Not as in chinese copy, I mean chinese inspired. I'll just write chinese again because I like how it sounds. Chinese.

I have questionably long hours in this mediocrity of a video game.

Basically if DOOM (2016) was set in Japan. Combat is so much fun but the story and humor bring this down a bit. Jokes that are completely unfunny and a story that is so predictable and typical, something DOOM benefited from by keeping it's mouth shut. Although from a purely gameplay standpoint this is great, however a little outdated in design as this came out in a time where area shooters were just making a comeback and were still figuring out how they'd fit into this decade (before DOOM 2016 perfected it)

Decently fun, but was a slog to get through at times.

Withouth SW 2013 tbere would be no Doom 2016

it's a bit weird in some places but it's overall not really bad. has some cool moments

Fps que lembra muito os classicos, apesar de ser um jogo com defeitos me diverti demais jogando, vale a jogada para quem curte este tipo de jogo.

A remake that not only improves upon the original, but also isn’t ashamed of it. Even keeping aspects of the original such as the humour, Japanese culture & fortune cookies. The story is fine, the gameplay & Lo Wang is what makes it great. Guns are solid and the skill system is rewarding to use. Definitely worth it if ya want a fun fps.

cutting dudes, getting to see what kind of new skill you will unlock, hack n slash.

Se centra demasiado en molar, pero se olvida de tener un gameplay satisfactorio

I tried my best to pitch this game to my friends as being an enjoyable action game with a trashy story that at least knew it was trashy, and no one listened, and then they made the sequel a loot game, and that's probably some kind of useful metaphor but it's more just the kind of trouble I get into, latching onto something good that it turns out the people who made it didn't see either.

Weaboo-redneck cousin of DOOM

Fun swordplay and shooting, middling levels, story, and humor. Overall slightly above average shooter.

Plays just like the beloved 3D Realms classics (Painkiller and Bulletstorm) except with less novelty/variety, but now there's three different upgrade menus requiring three different currencies full of exciting choices ranging from +10% damage against lesser demons to weapon alt-fires necessary to make them actually worth using. Lo Wäng being a kooky and salacious old man constantly flinging out action movie one-liners or pure puerility is unacceptable in The Current Day, hence why he was upgraded into a kewl young self-aware & hip d00d who collects comic books and exchanges smarmy quips with the Borderlands 2 character demon possessing him. The most impressive part about this Hard Reset total conversion mod is how much it blatantly inspired DOOM 2016, down to the secret retrö areas that're there to remind you of the titular game you would be better off replaying for the dozenth time, but at least in this they aligned the old textures correctly.

Surprisingly enthralled with the plot. And the combat is sooooo satisfying.

At first, Shadow Warrior dazzles with fantastic vistas and free-flowing combat. However, this is soon counterbalanced by a rapidly-increasing amount of bullet-sponge enemies and drab levels. It does end strong, with a super-powered climax to a story that I found surprisingly involving. But overall, the combat (outside of a few special instances) became more-so a obstacle to completing the level than an enjoyable diversion.

A bodyguard / henchman / hired killer is sent to acquire a very special sword, but when a horde of demons gets in the way and slaughters everyone before he has a chance to, he realizes there's something weird about his corporate overlords.

Remember the 90s classic? Lo Wang was a sort of oriental Duke Nukem, but unlike the notorious DNF, this one is actually a good game... a fast-paced, damn fun, insanely over the top, ultraviolent romp. From the same team of the also excellent Hard Reset.

Found a pixelated half-naked anime girl behind a waterfall.

An unfaithful reboot that falls short in so many places, I do enjoy the dialogue a lot. This was very easy to enjoy for 14 year old me, now that I’m older not so much.

This game starts out really fun. Getting to rip dudes apart with a sword feels awesome. This momentum only gets so far though, because after only two or three levels it starts getting very repetitive. You fight the same demons over and over and over to seemingly no end. There is some variety in enemy designs sure but the only weapon worth using is the sword, so every enemy feels the same to fight. You can unlock new abilities and all that but they're mostly just extra flashy ways to kill enemies. There is no tactical reason to use them, and in fact they are so impractical it is usually a better decision not to. The same thing applies to guns, but at least the guns are useful against flying enemies, which are the only enemies that really stand out because you have to pull out a gun to hit them at all. Enemies also take way too much damage to defeat. I can't tell if it's because they're sponges, or if the hitboxes are just really bad (or both). Every level is the cycle of start somewhere, clear out a shitload of enemies for 10 minutes straight, navigate a map with almost zero direction on where you're supposed to go in hopes that you find something, accidentally find a "secret area" that forces you to fight another 10 waves of enemies, subsequently find the right way, fight the same 10 waves of enemies again, and be greeted with a cutscene that can't decide if it wants to be self-referential and funny or to take itself seriously. I played up to the point where you get the Nobitsura Kage and I didn't care enough to continue.
