Its sonic, its pinball, you get it. Assuming there is a Samba de Amigo stage but i didnt unlock it because i got bored. The game really wants you to learn the tables and how to trigger all the different table modes but its sort of a big ask and couldnt keep my attention.

Game highlight: sega makes fun chunky graphics and cool menus

Meh. I just played this to test out an emulator box I got and yeah, the box certainly works well. It played pinball...as well as you'd expect. I just don't like pinball!

A pinball game that has a story. After Dr Robotnik’s last defeat, he’s set up a pinball tournament. As Sonic, you take part in the tournament. The tournament has 16 players, but you’ll only encounter Knuckles, Tails, Amy and Metal Sonic (the other ones are just to tease you). After you win the tournament, it turns out it’s all a trick and you have to face Dr Robotnik (in a pinball match).

First up you’ll have to face Knuckles on the Neo Green Hill Zone machine and get 10,000,000 points. Progress will be very slow until you follow the arrows, three loops and hitting into the right hole will get Dr Robotnik to spawn, then hitting the ball into a hole will destroy him and get you the 10,000,000 points.

Then Tails, who calls Sonic a moron, and has glowing red eyes because its brainwashed (I like how Knuckles has been fooled to fight Sonic so many times that they didn’t even bother brainwashing him). This time you need 15,000,000 points in 5 minutes on the Casino Paradise Zone machine. This is when you’ll find out that all the Sonic tables are exactly the same, just with different colours. So you’ll be doing exactly the same thing to get Dr Robotnik to appear and defeat him, potentially twice, as it’s by far the best way to get points.

Next up is a brainwashed Amy, and you get to play a completely different table, based on NiGHTS. Points aren’t important here, you just follow the instructions until you win. The final stage of the “tournament” is against Metal Sonic, where you have to beat all seven stages of the Sonic table. To defeat a stage, you do the same thing I mentioned above to defeat Dr Robotnik. So you need to do this same pattern seven times.

Then Dr Robotnik will challenge you, you have 5 minutes to score 30,000,000 points, so three more goes through the same thing. Throughout the story, you’ll have repeated the same exact actions around 13 times. It’s incredibly tedious and boring.

Completing this will get you a Samba De Amigo machine. The three tables have hidden minigames and features like multiball to discover, but ultimately following the instructions will net you by far the most points. It’s just a pretty bad game.

By far the best mode of Sonic Pinball Party is the options. Here is a sound test with the music, which features renditions of Songs based on the classic games, Sonic Advance and some extra tracks like midi versions of Super Sonic Racing and Live & Learn, all using the GBA’s capabilities quite well. On reflection, it makes the music in the GBA Sonic port even worse as Sonic Pinball Party had some pretty good versions of some of the music.

It might be a good pinball game but idk cause I'm not really into pinball games. The only thing I was really interested in what beating story mode, but requirements get so ridiculous and if you loose once (and aren't using save states) you have to restart the whole thing. I wanted to get to the ending and I know what you need to do to beat the final boss, but hitting the ball in the exact right way as quickly as possible (and do it perfectly 3 boards in a row) just feels impossibly random.

This was the last game to have a tiny Chao Garden, which is pretty sweet. It's also got versions of Nights, Sonic Adventure, Burning Rangers, Samba de Amigo, and Phantasy Star songs in the Sonic Advance soundfont. As a Sega junkie, this is pretty fantastic.

In terms of the pinball game itself, it's pretty solid. Each table emulates the main goal of its respective series rather well, it has a gorgeous sprite style that really captures the beauty of Nights into Dreams in particular.

My main problem with this game is the threshold for advancement in the story is so high it was a real struggle just to advance the story. Such a pain in the ass that it made me want to just quit a ton of times. But honestly, if you're looking for a portable pinball game, leave Mario pinball in the trash where it belongs. Sega's got a premiere pinball experience that's hard to replicate.

If you pick this one up, don't play the story mode. Especially if you're on real hardware and not an emulator. Your hands will thank you. But yeah other than that nightmare, it's a fine enough bit of Pinball.

I'll be real I fucking hate pinball but this has Nights music so

I didn't finish this one because Metal Sonic's challenge is staying seated for 20 minutes and play all of the stages without dying.

Я уже говорил что ненавижу пин болл?

The boards suck, way too simple. Graphics are eh even for the GBA, the story mode is kind of just thrown together. Kind of a disappointing game since I love pinball games but this one clearly had no budget or ambition.

es curioso que el otro pimball sea mas divertido que este

this game technically punishes you for being good. getting multiball locks you out of being able to get the 10,000,000 point bonus and this can get really annoying when you're on the final boss who has a time limit and the goal is to get 30 million+ points.

tl;dr: this was the last game to have a chao garden and it died for pinball's sins

Lol fucking perfect I love pinball.

It's basically pinball. If you're a fan of pinball, you'll like this game.

I mean to start it already controls lightyears beyond the garbage that is Sonic Spinball so this is more fun by default. The best way to get enjoyment out of this game is to play Arcade mode for a bit and put it down until you wanna pick it up again. Story mode is actually ridiculous. Starts off kind of alright but the final 2 stages (Metal Sonic and Eggman) are such a cruel unforgiving steep difficulty spike that you start to go insane and wonder if they even bothered to playtest these campaign missions at all. These missions are just WAY too strict and WAY too precise and demanding to be handled with pinball controls and physics. There are many out there who haven't even beaten this game because of these 2 missions and honestly I don't blame them.
