South Park: Snow Day! is a fun, chaotic romp through a snowed-in South Park. The 3D brawler combat, while simple, is satisfying, and the co-op multiplayer adds to the mayhem. However, the lack of polish and variety in levels and enemies holds it back from greatness. Fans of the show will find plenty to love in the humor and references, but others may be left cold.

boring, generic combat, ugly, whatever story, just nothing much here.

What an unenjoyable basic experience this turned out to be, which is a shame considering the past two titles were an absolute blast to play.

The gameplay is so janky, the A.I is complete garbage. The level design is boring and set out in weird area type fights that end up looking the same. There is hardly much choice in terms of a build to your character.

Maybe I’ll come back to this eventually - I’m just glad I’ve gotten it through a subscription service and didn’t pay full price for this. Just seems like a massive cash grab.

This game isn't the greatest but it is definitely overhated. As long as you play this game with a couple of friends you will have a good time.

it was indeed a game that was indeed released and i've indeed played and finished in 2024, undeniably it is a game

For $30 dollars, this is one of the most worthy experiences I've had in a while. This game is ultra-fun in hard diffculty, full of the iconic South Park humor, and had plenty to like. I would love to see how it is with friends. Snow Day is vastly different from the past two games, but I think it is great that Matt & Trey are doing something new with the franchise.

Played this with my friend and it's genuinely overhated

This game is below okay. It had some good to it, me and a friend had some good dumb fun with it, it's the only game I know of where you can play as a transgender girl with a banana hat, and the flamethrower wand and the axe were easily the most fun weapon combo that also successfully broke the game in half. On the bad side the game absolutely lacked content with it's five whole levels, the level design is alright to atrocious, bosses were mostly all just kinda bad, and the story was also borderline nonsense, all it was good for was to retcon a random late 2010s episode from the show in the laziest way possible. I think I can say it's objectively undeserving of it's $30 price tag, I got it as a gift and I lowkey feel bad for the friend of mine who paid for our copies...

"I'm not just sure, I'm HIV positive" that 'South Park: Snow Day!' is a bad day.

This game is a tired, lazy, unimaginative, poor attempt at the continuation of the recent South Park games that feature you as the "New Kid" who moved into the neighborhood during The Stick of Truth, which was the first entry into these line of games.

I wanted to give this game the benefit of the doubt upon seeing the initial trailer for the game but Snow Day, which was developed by Question LLC and published by THQ Nordic, decided to rip away the charm and magic from the third installment of the New Kid Trilogy; all of which were reasons why the first two games were so special.

The immersion of being in an extended episode of the South Park animated series is is completely gone, therefore, the dialogue and humor you experienced in the first two games are now watered down and essentially non-existent. The change from 2D to 3D made the environment and all the characters in it appear lifeless (Let's just admit that outside the self-titled South Park game for N64/PS1, South Park 3D games do not work). But the greatest sin of them all was the attempt to change the combat and playstyle of a traditional turn-based RPG into a low effort live service, hack 'n slash, adventure game. The formula for success was right there and they squandered it.

I understand the need to try something different, they even addressed it in the game that "New Kid" has become too OP so they had to change the rules but they swung and missed on all accounts. If they wanted to switch things up, South Park does not lack material to take inspiration from. Although WrestleQuest did it first, a South Park attempt at a wrestling inspired turn-bases RPG would have been tons of fun and they already have an episode from the show to continue the shenanigans from. Or better yet, how about a spin on the game the kids play "Texans vs Mexicans"? An outrageous concept for a game sure but something a South Park game could getaway with and potentially pull off.

For the price of admission of $30, 5-6 hours of gameplay still feels very short, the combat is extremely repetitive, and worst of all, if you die mid level, you have to start the mission over. Maybe that isn't annoying to some but when the game is obnoxiously difficult on medium and hard but too simple on easy difficulty, finding the right balance for you can be a struggle to enjoy when trying to play the game.

I'm sure this game will tickle the fancy of some players and maybe my expectations for Snow Day are skewed coming off the success of two solid, well-made games that I enjoyed very much but this even as a standalone game would not appeal to me. It's a quick cash grab off a popular IP that is wonky and passionless. Not even multiplayer can save this mess of a game since there are so many better options out right now that you could be playing with your friends instead. South Park: Snow Day! is just another thing to blame Canada for.

Nada comprova a existência desse jogo nada
Sucumba jogo sucumba

This game has some interesting ideas, but at only four hours of playtime, it doesn't really have the time to build on them. There's just so little meat on the bones here. And there's so little replay value in this game. Some of the roguelike stuff is interesting, but again, the game is too short for it to be developed.

WHERE'S THE REST OF THE GAME

In Stick of Truth and Fractured Asshole, you're hurled from grand setpiece to grand setpiece. GIANT NAZI ZOMBIE FETUSES. TRAVELING THROUGH TIME WITH THE POWER OF FARTS. SHRINKING DOWN TO BATTLE UNDER YOUR PARENTS AS THEY FUCK. Fuck YES.

In Snow Day, you begin in a grassy field covered in snow. Then, you travel to a grassy field covered in snow. BEFORE GOING TO WAR WITH KYLE, STANDING OFF IN A GRAND BATTLE FOR THE AGES IN a grassy field covered in snow. Ehhh maybe I'm not being fair. A TRAIN. I SAW A TRAIN AT ONE POINT. It didn't do anything but THERE WAS LIKE HALF OF A TRAIN KINDA STICKING OUT OF THE GRASS AND SNOW LET'S FUCKING GO WOOOOOOO

What's square, the attack button and square all over? SQUARE, THE ATTACK BUTTON, THAT YOU'LL BE EXCLUSIVELY PRESSING EVERY GODDAMN BATTLE. I accidentally pressed L2 at one point, triggering my ranged weapon. It did barely any damage. I went back to mashing square.

EVEN THE CUSTOMISATION. Do I want a hoodie with no colour whatsoever, or a hoodie with colour... WITH THE WORD “SNOWBOARD” ON IN THE BIGGEST FONT THEY COULD FIND. Now I gotta pretend to be passionate about snowboarding everywhere I go. I've never even snowboarded. I HAVEN'T EVEN TOUCHED SNOW SINCE 2017. Well I have now, IT'S ALL THIS GAME HAS.

And while shopping, THE CHARACTERS. DO NOT. SHUT THE FUCK UP. Despite you only being in the shop for 20 seconds because there's five t-shirts to browse, you WILL hear Tweek and Craig say the same joke three times consecutively.

BUT THEN THE CHARACTERS GOT NOTHING WHEN YOU ACTUALLY WANT JOKES FROM THEM. There you are, slogging through the grassiest, snowiest field you've ever seen, in DEAD SILENCE like the past 20 minutes, and OH SHIT! CARTMAN'S ABOUT TO SAY SOMETHING. YOU'RE ABOUT TO FEEL SOMETHING FOR THE FIRST TIME IN AN HOUR. “Remember you can press R1 to put down a healing totem”...

This game is the most early 2000s licensed PS2 game of all time. It's not as bad as you've probably heard, it's perfectly FINE… but just watch the cutscenes on YouTube dude.

Snow Day is quite a tricky one because I haven't tried the other SP games and it's my first one, some elitist will say that this game sucks for changing the gameplay into 2.5D in 3D completely but for someone like me the first time I played it was amazing, the combat felt nice the story was right for the series scenario and there's co-op missions to play.

Gameplay
Like I said, the gameplay looks very good the graphics are charmful combined with the snow theme but one thing that will always suck in this game must be the bots, they will always die no matter what you do in the 5 chapters of the game and you will be almost all the time awarded with the medic class rank. The gameplay fits perfectly with the RPG and fast peace movement and the cards deck are unique with the weapons upgrades and character customization, the game is optimized for a 2019 specs pc and it runs very well. Only in chapter 4 you will encounter some performance issues but that's the game fault since I played the version from the launch that came with some major problems. You will find gamemodes like waves so you will have some fun without the main campaign which is fairly short.

Story
Miraculous blizzard day strikes and cartman is happy to be home and play with his buddies, but this snow storm is not something usual at all but you are the new kid in town and cartman makes connections between you and stan, kyle, and kenny. The main antagonist isn't known in the beginning but you start in the early chapter to fight with kyle known as the elf king and then later on fighting with kenny as well known as the princess and the last one being stan the barbarian. After all of them cartman knew that the blizzard will end somehow and he betrayed all of you to maintain this weather so he will not go to school, after fighting him in his grand wizard form all of you realize that the main antagonist is mr hankey because he got canceled on twitter and to consume his rage he used his magic to strike a snow day in south park, after fighting all of these bosses which are your friends it's time to take the last one and the most dangerous one out that being hankey, all of you gather in his location and climb up to reach him and once you are there the new kid has to strike him but being so powerful it will make hankey fulfilled with magic power as well, after one punch he transforms into a huge shit monster and you have to take him out with cannons powered by toilet paper to wipe him out. So it is done, south park is saved and the group goes to school until jesus comes out of nowhere and he tells the kids that what they did to hankey was wrong when he was down and no one helped him so they decided to offer forgiveness to hankey and wish for another blizzard day.

After Having Played 104 Hours Of The Game I Think Its Safe For Me To Say I Enjoy This Game Alot And While I do Very Much acknowledge that it is 100% weaker than the other south park games but I really do think its still a great game. I Weirdly enjoy this games plot as I think it fits well into south park and could possibly be in a mid tier episode. I also think this game is an actually really cool speedrun as it features quite alot of glitches and skips but does sadly rely heavily on good rng

pure fun. it's good in a completely different way than the south park rpgs, which i do prefer, but this is just really well done action gameplay. the first 2 chapters are a bit of a slog, but the rest is fantastic. i love it!

just a little too janky, the humor just didn't really make me laugh I haven't watched South Park in a while so idk how this compares to the show but what is here is fine but not hilarious, the game 3d style is ok for adapting a 2d animated show to 3d but I am also not gonna lie and say it looks amazing

i cant understand why people hate this game i think its pretty fun i played with my friends i completed 100% and i want more this is awesome

I know making RPGs are really hard but man you could've picked a better genre then co-op roguelike button masher. It probably didn't help that I played the whole game by myself but really I don't think I'd want to subject my friends with 5 drawn out level filled with spongy enemies, shallow rouge like systems, and almost no variety for missions or objectives; this game really is just 5 hours of samey looking areas with the same button mashing combat with shallow systems and nothing else.

I guess you could get some laughs from the game but personally I think South Park has gone downhill in the writing department for the past few years and this game just kinda proves me even more right that Tray and Matt are so washed.

If you really want to play a co-op multiplayer game with friends that’s less then 40 dollars just play Helldivers 2, honestly just fuck this game.

Brand new take on the franchise, that fell short of awesome. The story tries to tie in from Stick of Truth and Fractured But Whole - but the dialogue and game play falls well short of the goal with a tedious and boring combat system and repetitive voice lines - they should have stuck with what worked.

Mindless, weightless entertainment. Plays best with 3 randoms online. Really thankful for GameFly because there’s no good price to charge for 5 levels that last 20-30 minutes each. Please just give us a sequel to THE FRACTURED BUT WHOLE.

Nota: 3

This game sucks. I do not understand why Matt and Trey decided to go back to 3D, because it does not work with these designs at all. Even without that, the game is a drab to look at. The colors are ugly, the animations are not portrayed well, and it is overall just really ugly, but does not even have the charm of the 1998 N64 game. Also this game is HARD! I played on easy mode for most of the adventure, and even then it was too hard. I got to level 4, and had to quit, it was so boring and again too difficult. The only plus is the writing. For the few times the characters speak, the game can be funny. Even then, why did they think it was a good idea to bring Mr. Hankey back here? Not all of your fans will play this game, so you should have had him return in an episode of "special event." Pretty disappointing. Eh, at least I start with this and now can finally get to Stick of Truth and Fractured But Whole.

See, I understand the disappointment towards this game and, to an extent, I feel it myself. I never got around to playing The Stick of Truth and The Broken But Whole (I absolutely have to though!) and the trailer for this when announced at (I believe) The Game Awards last year left me awfully mild because of its focus on the co-op aspects of the game rather than its roguelike elements. After playing through the campaign, I feel it deserves just a little bit more than that.

Snow Day is a budget game retailing at only $30 and honestly it shows. The game's campaign features only 5 chapters and nothing else to do around the main map of South Park officially, each ranging from about 20 to 45 minutes and the only reason to continue playing are a free horde DLC, a difficulty modifier postgame in the form of "infernal maps" and a perk system using an in-game collectable. With the entirety of South Park at your fingertips, the hub world really is ultimately limited to just a little headquarters and that's a shame. Bosses are entertaining, but usually hinge on a single gimmick, such as the forced use of cannons or said boss hiding and giving sound cues to find them amongst decoys.

The story of the game is played surprisingly straight. South Park falls victim to a blizzard that claims the lives of many of its occupants but, more importantly, causes the titular Snow Day. Cartman, the New Kid and friends find themselves at war and begin to find out that something else lurks near, causing the blizzard to be eternal unless they team together. Cutscenes are honestly brief and the game seems to rely pretty heavily on its 3D atmosphere, which is barren of anything that separates each chapter as it's just South Park covered in snow every time. Some of the comedy in its short focus gives a decent chuckle but there really isn't anything signature here to write home about.

Gameplay is actually quite enjoyable and scales well with the roguelike elements, but genuinely could benefit with more card variation; every weapon (of which there are three melee and three ranged) and every special power (of which there are 8) has 2 or 3 upgrade cards available through Jimmy and scaled with toilet paper currency. Once in a while you come across Henrietta who deals with dark matter, which also is used to buy perks from Mr. Hankey, and offers you limited choices to do with your current upgrades in a run, from sacrificing one upgrade to boost your others to removing one entirely for a small sum in order to speed the tedious levelling process when you get back.

With so little in the way of changing gameplay it's honestly a wonder why they decided to make it a formal part of the marketing in the first place, because the only thing that ultimately changes the base gameplay are the addition of "bullshit" cards that alter how you (in about 4 ways) are able to gain an advantage and several ways in which normal enemies are able to operate to make your life harder cast sporadically or permanently through a run, such as a timed upgrade to enemy protectiles that cause AoE explosions or a permanent 5-10 second invulnerability on every enemy upon spawning. There is also a third currency exclusively used for cosmetic purposes and collected exlusively through an achievement system but it's honestly not worth talking much about, as the selections are entirely uninspired and don't really amount to anything more than a throwaway gag in the late game.

Honestly there is a lot to like about Snow Day but it feels incomplete, even for a game of its budget price. After beating all five chapters there really is little to keep you around because the expectation is to grind variations of those same five maps to a tee but with modifiers and a randomisation of the same tired upgrades you've already mostly exhausted. Perhaps if it put more faith in its own roguelike abilities and really tried to make the experience more procedurally generated there would be more to do, but in its current state Snow Day is fun, yet brief and disappointing in its applications.

The story is fun, continues the other 2 games scarcely, really short campaign, 5 missions 2 hours it took me, roguelike elements with new cards unlocked via achievements.
Sad follow up from the other 2 South Park games tho.
