jin kazama is so cool i wish he was real

JIN KAZAMA is excellent. Also the story and music is really good

This is Tekken's first start as the 3d fighting it is today, and its great. My main is Yoshimitsu and he is cool but goofy, the other character are fun to play and learn. This is what got me into Tekken

This is where Tekken really begins. Everyone got the lead out of their shoes, and compared to the first two games, Tekken 3 is blindingly fast. It's also really fun. It's stuffed with features that will have you coming back for more continuously. On Playstation, this game could actually hit 480i. Which is impressive for 1998. Every other Tekken has tried to capture the magic of this one, with decidedly mixed results. This game however is a certified classic. A game so good, it killed Virtua Fighter's relevancy outside of Japan. Even without the extra features of the PS1 version, it's a fantastic game. With Tekken Ball and the Beat-Em-Up side content, it becomes one of the greatest fighting games ever. Street Fighter 2, 3, 4, Soul Calibur, Virtua Fighter 2, Mortal Kombat 1, Marvel vs, Capcom 2, and Tekken 3. These are the most important games in the genre, in my opinion. So what are you waiting for? Enter the King of Iron Fist Tournament. Enter the Tekken.

Eddie Gordo and Hwoarong were my "mains" as a kid. My friends called me cheap for the former. Still loved it.

Gameplay still holds up to this day, which is very impressive. Soundtrack is cool, characters are all cool.

The game that changed Tekken as a whole despite the somewhat dated visuals (imo) and man the speed and physics in this game are on point, setting the standard for each new entry in the Tekken franchise. It's like they found the perfect balance between fast-paced action and smooth gameplay.

Having the addition of sidestepping really just changes how you play the game because in the previous games the gameplay was mostly confined to a two-dimensional plane. It was all about timing your moves and blocking and rinse and repeat until your opponent is defeated

Best Tekken on PS1!, love the soundtrack and stages.

Baita jogasso, gostei bastante do game, gameplay boa,uma boa variação de personagens e bem bonito pra época, diferente das cutscenes que são meio estranhas, mas aquilo é 1997,era outros tempos da computação nos games

Mad impressive how early they nailed Tekken's gameplay. This is also when they add all the cool characters (Hwoarang my beloved)

The first truly good Tekken, abysmal difference with its predecessors. Balanced difficulty, a lot of interesting characters, lots of content and game modes, cut scenes just as horrible as always. Everything is going well.

Nostalgia hits with this one. Classic Playstation banger.

Etwas veraltet aber trotzdem guter fighter

Reviewing this now since i will probably never beat this game.

As someone who as only very recently gotten into fighting games through the street fighter series, when i saw this at the thrift store for 15$ i figured why not give it a try. In the end i can say i can see why this game is so highly praised, especially when i consider when it came out. The graphics are absolutely incredible and though i am way worse at this than i am street fighter, the game-play has a sort of fluidity to it that is very hard to explain, you really just have to feel it for yourself. There are plenty of modes to play, in fact probably more than i ever will be able to play.

My personal problems with the game come with the inputs. While i think it is super cool that each character has such a wide range of moves, it is very, very difficult for me to remember which ones do what when i am playing, as someone who only as of recently can just barely handle all the moves in street fighter. Still, this is just an issue with me and not really with the game.

Overall i think this game is excellent and probably one of the best multiplayer games on the playstation, though it can be a bit frustrating when I'm completely one-sidedly crushed by my friends who are somehow 10 000 000 times better at the game than me.

It's a childhood game. I love this one.

Sin este juego, habría tardado mucho más en obsesionarme con los videojuegos. Agradezco mucho que me ahorrases tanto tiempo.

A pioneering 3D fighting game with Tekken Ball!

I remember playing this in Tekken 5's arcade history. Had a lot of fun, and I still have PTSD from fighting Ogre as a kid. Best retro Tekken game. This being a lot of my favorite Tekken characters' debut was also another reason why this is one of my favorites.

If Street Fighter II made an entire genre of video games go from novelty time waster to at least a somewhat contest where skills felt like an aspect of the equation then Tekken 3 goes the extra mile and makes the contest a full blown sport.

What’s the evidence for this? Well a very direct piece I found while playing this game on my system was how fast the loading times were. There is very little empty time when you play arcade mode and this game is almost 30 years old now, even continuing after losing is so fast you’re always given a chance to come back and get better. Another piece comes with what moves and movement mean here, Tekken feels “realistic” in the sense that your actions change where you are in the space of the map where your opponent can go in other directions because of the 3D with sidestepping being as powerful as blocking at times. With the movement, you could easily be a walking tank fishing out pain or you could full blown spring at your opponent and end a whole round in less than 30 seconds if you’re that fast.

I’m sure there are broken aspects in this game (it is 27 years old at the time of me writing this lmao) and I have not played Tekken 1 and 2 but based on hearing how 1+2 were slow and I’m sitting here playing a game as fast and tense as this I just think the evidence that this is a significant piece of fighting game software because of all these design aspects says enough.

Tekken 3 good, Tekken 3 significant, Tekken 3 addicting, Tekken 3 more like Heckken 3/3, Tekken 3

While Tekken 1 and 2 were good games in their own right, it was obvious Namco was still trying to find their footing with them. Fortunately, it was with Tekken 3 where they finally hit their stride, capping off one hell of a trilogy with an emphatic statement.

The immaculate stage tracks paired with satisfyingly crunchy sound effects. A glorious collective of badass characters sprinkled with a few enchanting oddities. The edgy presentation. The fun side-modes. Everything that was in this neat little package worked nothing else but in its favor.

Tekken 3 left a very memorable, life-changing impression on me as a five year old. This game was what led me down the Tekken rabbit hole and what helped me claim this series as my all-time favorite. Today, it still plays as good as it did and it stands the test of time as a true gem in the annals of fighting games.

Is this even a PS1 game? The whiplash of awe when this game released must be so big.

Fucking badass soundtrack that comes with one of the greatest fighting games of all time.

Tekken 3 é um jogaço, vale muito apena jogar!

If nostalgia is a thing, this one surely does it for me. One of the best fighting games, no... One of the best games of all time.
