Ocarina of Time but infinitely better. Still not as good as Majora's Mask though. - 2023

I hate the Wii version of this because it flips the whole game and throws my sense of direction off, but it was still a cool thematic approach to Zelda that was a lot darker and scarier, and had possibly the most in-depth story in the series yet. I think linear Zelda is Zelda at its best, so games like TP will always appeal to me.

one of the best stories in any zelda game, the writing is amazing and really gets you invested in the world and the people living in it. unfortunately the characters kind of balance each other out. i love midna and shad but hate all of the children, who are sadly a big focus of the game (for a reason, they do have growth and are beneficial to the story but i personally do not like them). the world is beautiful but feels a little empty, however this is sort of fixed as you experience each section both in light and twilight. overall, a very solid experience that i hold close to my heart ♡

Almost perfect zelda game, only gripe is that it takes a while to start going

best zelda game, midzel canon

This is the most Zelda game of all time, there isn't any game that is more Zelda than this one, if there was a Zelda game award this would be the number 1 Zelda game because it is indeed a Zelda game.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD is an HD remaster of a Gamecube/Wii game from 2006 sharing the same name, this game follows more in the footsteps of Ocarina of Time rather than trying to be its own thing like Wind Waker. It pretty much takes the best of both Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker to make the ultimate modern Zelda experience, but did it deliver what Wind Waker couldn't? In my honest and humble opinion, it did a wonderful job at being Ocarina of Time 2.

Twilight Princess takes place in a more darker and realistic world with a really intriguing premise that starts really well but unfortunately gets dragged down by the recurring Zelda tropes that just keep Twilight Princess as a Zelda game and nothing more. What I'm trying to explain is mostly what Ganon does to the story, I personally have no issue with Zelda tropes I really do like them, and I get happy whenever I see a nod to a previous Zelda game, but then you already know what happens and what will happen, the whole dark world idea was great till it was revealed that it was just Ganon being responsible for everything, it's really just like any Mario game where the bad guy always ends up being Bowser, but then again it's just a Nintendo game, we enjoy them for the gameplay and not the story but it's always nice to see a nice and original plot from time to time, I love the Zelda franchise but I wish they did a bit more with it story-wise.

Outside of the story feeling somewhat unfinished and the Zelda tropes being overly present in this game whether you like it or not, the gameplay is still fantastic. It really feels like a big next step for the franchise, not an innovative step like Breath of the Wild but a step that just really polishes what was previously made. The game takes a more linear approach to its story, the idea is the same as in Ocarina of Time where at first you start with the three elemental dungeons and then go for the dungeon related to the mages, the only difference is that the "open world" is barely used, especially early game where you'll spend most of your time as a Wolf without the ability to do anything as Link. So the world ends up just being a transition in between dungeons with barely any exploration or character interactions, it may be a good thing for some but I did like the NPC-based puzzles in OoT with some nice fetch quests here and there, it made the world more alive and I barely felt like any NPCs actually matters in Twilight Princess, they ended up making a more realistic world but at the price of losing its liveliness.

The dungeons themselves are honestly the main focus of the game, most of them are overall really well made, some like the water temple can be somewhat infuriating to figure out but overall they all are fairly simple to figure out, a guide is not necessary for this game. The item pacing is really good and the new items are really fun like the spinner or the double Hookshot, god bless the double Hookshot. And surprisingly the bosses are really well made too, my favorite being Zant, it uses the boss refight near the end of the game trope that usually often sucks like in Wind Waker but this time instead of refighting the boss you have to fight Zant using the ability of the bosses in their respective arena making you use reuse the same item you previously used for that specific boss.

Overall this game might not be the most original game of all time, and it might have not inspired the game industry like with OoT and BOTW, but it did a really good job at being a Zelda game and I will forever appreciate this game as the ultimate 3D Zelda game, so unless Nintendo actually brings back the OoT tropes/formula, Twilight Princess will stay as the ultimate modern OoT experience.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess ist meiner Meinung nach eins der stärksten Spiele der Serie.

Für jeden Fan ein absolutes must play. :)

Such an underrated game. The combat and characters are awesome.
Midna is the best companion

Really good zelda game, probably the best story in the series however it does drag out a bit at the end. 10/10 gameplay though. Graphics look incredible on the wii u and plus it’s in HD

unnecessary hd port? maybe. but i got the wolf link amiibo with it for $60, and doing the new dungeon to power it up and use in BotW as a wolf link companion was AWESOME. RIP in TotK

well-executed dark atmospheres and sound design. really good character designs too. wolf link parts can be kind of tedious since you're just looking for the spots the devs decided midna should help you jump up without any clear visual indicators otherwise.

Absolutely god-tier game that I've noticed getting some unnecessary hate for its bug-hunting wolf segments that last like fifteen minutes at most. Everything about this game absolutely screams "Dark Fantasy". The atmosphere, music, story, villains, settings, and monsters all feel more twisted, strange, and evil l than any other game in the series (besides Majora's Mask). It also has quite possibly the most satisfying combat in any Zelda game. This game is damn near flawless, and is even better than BotW and TotK for my money.

i like this one more than i want to admit.

These are easily the best dungeons in the entire franchise with their own mechanical and aesthetic themes that are just SO COOL. This whole damn game is so cool with its dark tone and epic narrative that just goes together so well.

Some gems nested in a bit of a muddy mess. Playing this game I just felt like it tried unbelievably hard to be edgy, at the expense of the offbeat humour I valued in other Zelda games. The Castle Town location is fantastic, there’s some excellent story beats, Wolf Link is a smart gimmick, and the Dark World is a great touch. But these are swallowed by an overwhelming need to be gritty and negative almost everywhere else. Some people love it but it’s just not for me.

Really fun and interesting game, I mean, it's Zelda. Some parts, like the graphics, feel kinda outdated, but the gameplay and story make up for it. The wolf mechanic can sometimes be a bit boring as well, and some areas were a bit boring, but other than that, it's great

It's a pretty cool Zelda game (i like zelda games)

An excellent Zelda entry. Nothing more nothing less. HD fixed being stuck on Wii/Gamecube

Top 3 zelda games, great character development, environments, dungeons and everything. Biggest flaws are the slow start and repetitive zelda tropes in gameplay

Here are some of my thoughts:

Just as a preface, great game, just that because zeldas my favorite franchise, i hold every game to a ridiculously high standard.

I kinda dislike the game's visual style, its very impressive visually (like every game in the franchise), but the overly gray and brown really doesnt work for me. I know that the whole shtick of this game is that its twilight so its gotta have a balance between light and dark and its atmosphere kinda works that way, but it really didnt do that much for me and a lot of the game (at least compared to other entries in the franchise) feels kinda empty to me. I dont think the game, both through gameplay and storytelling, doesnt really justify wolf link. And I think the items you got in this game mostly suck. My problems with the visuals sometimes really go over some of the dungeons who i wouldve liked a lot more were they more stylish, especially Lakebed Temple, actually the first 3 dungeons.

Good things: some are meh (lakebed boss, forest boss and ganon), but in general, this game has the sickest bosses this series has ever had, especially the fight against Zant, is just fucking phenomenal. Midna is an awesome character. Arbiter's Ground one of the best dungeons in the saga by far. It has one of the best Ganon incarnations, even though his boss fight is really underwhelming.

Overall it is a great game and, for a guy whose favorite game is OoT, I really don't get the people who say this is just OoT 2, like no, but there's a lot of things, especially stylistically and with a fairly underwhelming story that bring it down in the ranking.

The peak of old-school Zelda, from the Ocarina-esque story to the labyrinthian dungeons (the best in the series in my opinion), and sassy companion Midna. The last old-school Zelda and they ended on a high.

It's a very good game, but not on my list of favorite Zelda games. It just isn't as fun as the other ones. The dungeons were awesome, though.

Really slow pacing in some sections. Kinda weak title compared to other 3D Zelda games.
