Jogo muito bom que eu lembro da época do flash, mas a história é relativamente curta

It's sad that the devs made a masterpiece and stopped making games since then. I played this "gem" twice.

Fascinating music effects 🎶🎵
Thrilling story
Attractive art style 🖌️ 🎨
Natural Voice acting 🗣
Different kind of point and click gameplay style.

A veces me pregunto si solo yo recuerdo este juego.
Tiene buena jugabilidad y una historia bastante disfrutable.
Más gente debería conocerlo.

The Silent Age is a very simplistic point & click adventure with the usual time travel story that at least has some cool things going on towards the end but the short, selfcontained chapters make the puzzles all extremely simple in design. It's not bad per se but just not very interesting or special.

Solid game overall, considering that it was originally a mobile game. I played the demo for this originally back in 2013/2014 or so, and I was very intrigued at the time. Fast forward a decade later, and I was able to get it from Epic for free. The game has 11 chapters, and most of them are pretty straight-forward, however, some areas can take some time to figure out. In my case, I got stuck in the subway portion of the way looking for coins, afterwards, the rest was easy enough. The strong suit of the game is its atmosphere, and the first 5 chapters or so of the game. The mystery of not knowing what is going on and being exposed to the time traveling mechanics is very cool originally. I do feel that the story kind of falls apart a bit towards the latter half of the game however. While the ending of the game was not what I expected; nor wanted, it was an alright story overall. At the end of the day, one has to remember this was a mobile game after all. All in all, its a solid experience, you get what you are expecting for a mobile game, and its actually quite good relative to that context. If you have a dollar or two to spare, or got it for free, and have a couple hours to spare, it would not be a bad idea to play this.

The full art design of this game looks like a well worked flash game. What most catched me was the soundtrack, simple and atmospheric.

Boring point and click game with puzzles that are way too obvious, completely nonsensical, or both. The story is shown almost exclusively in large chunks of exposition, which makes it much more boring than it actually is. The reasoning behind time travel stuff is silly at times, but that's more or less to be expected. Laughed out loud at the plot-twists. I can kind of see the appeal of the game, but it's too clear that it was made for mobile from its design, which brings it down when playing on PC.

Time travel, puzzles and spooky atmosphere? Sign me up! I was pretty excited to start this game due to the artwork looking really nice and my interest in time traveling.

Sadly, the story and puzzles were very lackluster. It repeatedly mentions that it's about time travel, all the time. You forget? Nah nah, it is about time travel, you know. It's weird, but also gets quite boring fast. I did like the jumping from the present to the future mechanic a lot and using that for the puzzles was fun, even though the puzzles themselves were very easy to figure out.

The artwork is really nice and I was surprised how amazingly this pc-port of a mobile game worked out so well. The clicking did get a little annoying at times, I wished I could have used the arrow keys to move around. The soundtrack of the game was also quite interesting, as it was pretty silent most of the times, I guess hence the name, but there were some really cool atmospheric sounds used that gave the game an eerie feeling, which worked really well with the story.

I do think this game is worth playing through, but maybe get it at a sale? Very interesting game.

Game was like a walking sim in point-and-click form. It helps that I got drawn to the story, the puzzles were not that hard, and the music, graphics and game length are just right.

If I can find a game like this, I will play it, 100%.
It's funny I beat this game twice, android and pc

Um point-and-click que usa a mecânica de viagem no tempo com sabedoria. Puzzles simples e uma história que te prende fácil, além de ser bem curtinho. Bom para jogar relaxando!

tbh one of the best narrative-based mobile games of the early 2010s

The Silent Age is overall a nice point and click adventure game. The time travel mechanic brings back memories of the Day of the Tentacle. The puzzles are most of the time pretty easy but the story is interesting enough to get you going.

Short and simple. Loved that the puzzles make sense, but I found the main character pretty annoying.

I can't remember too much about it, but I remember really liking the style of this adventure game. It had a kind of 70s meets post-apocalypse vibe that you don't find that often. I thought it was pretty cool.

The Silent Age is a point-and-click adventure developed by House on Fire and firstly released on mobile devices, then later updated for PC in 2013.

You follow a story of a janitor named Joe Smith who you take control of. One day while he was doing his usual work he found a blood trail that lead him to Dr. Lambert. As he was fatally injured, he soon started saying that he came from the future and that he was trying to stop an exctinction event that will occur, but he didn't make it. So he gave to Joe tha task to go to the younger version of Dr. Lambert and to tell him about the today's event. So he gave Joe a small device that will help him to jump between two set times, Joe's present time and 40 years in the future (from where Dr. Lambert came).
As you soon realize this short, 3 hours long (10 chapters) story is full of small puzzles that has to be solved to get to your final destination. Giving players the possibility to use the time device to not only pass some locked objects that in the future aren't locked, but also to get items and use them in different time periods which adds depth to puzzle solving.
Graphically the game for what it is it's okay, nothing outstanding, the story is also decent enough while the ending was more interesting.
The only thing I disliked apart from how short the story is, is that when entering the game you're always prompted with a window where you have to decide at which resolution you want to play the game. But after entering the game again, the same will be asked to choose even though you have already done that before, the game doesn't save the previously chosen settings, fortunately, you'll probably be prompted with that window once or twice, since you will finish the story pretty quickly.

All in all, a decent point-and-click adventure, a pretty short one indeed, but it offers great usage of the time device when puzzle solving.

Sanat tasarımı ve atmosferi güzel. Pek fazla bir oynanış öğesi bulundurmuyor sadece puzzle çözerken zamanda ileri ve geri atlama olayı hoş. Hikayesi fena değil. Ortalama bir oyun oynanır mı oynanır zaten 3 saatlik bir şey. 6/10

I like the protagonist's moustache

I completed the free part which I replayed multiple times, because I really love the vibe and that you have to think and use past and future to advance in the story!

Amazing atmosphere, reminds me of old school Flash games, definitely check it out if you are looking for a good Point and Click game

Dialog/voice acting is hit or miss, story is fine. Puzzles are... standard I guess.

If I remember correctly, I found this game through the Vsauce3 series "App All Knight" ('member Vsauce3? I member!). I thought it looked cool, and downloaded it. It really stuck with me, and I've replayed it many a time! It's a cozy little puzzle game with aesthetically pleasing visuals, charming dialogue, and a fun story. There's not much more to it, really.

A very fresh take on the point-n-click genre and the theme of time travel. The unmistakable style does not ever stop to impress you with renditions of old and new places, fitting perfectly into the 70s aesthetic, and the switch between old and new is as depressing as ever, doing better than Singularity or The Great Perhaps ever did.

What I love about this game is that it presses on and skips the easy endings other games would've found, and actually ends on a good note. A wonderful tale about time, chance, responsibility and that sometimes, things might just turn out alright.

I played The Silent Age initially when it was released for iOS back in 2014 and remember liking it. Turns out, it's still good! Simple, short, atmospheric, and just tricky enough to make me feel like a puzzle champion without ever being frustrating.

The newly added voice acting doesn't really work for me, but it's not terrible either. Owen Thomas plays Joe with more of a youthful pep, whereas I'd always thought of him as weary and beleaguered. Oh well, at least it's easy to turn off.

Buena historia, y con jugabilidad sencilla y con unos puzzles que no frustran

This probably kicked so much ass as a mobile game in 2013. Thankfully though as a PC port played in 2022, it's still pretty good. Gameplay is your standard point and click affair, but it offers some decent time-travel puzzles to work through. Story is a fun little time-travel excursion that does a good job actually making sense... I think... IDK it was entertaining and made sense on first look so I'm not thinking too hard about it. I also LOVE the art direction and striking colors of each background, and I had a pretty good time overall. It's not gonna blow you away or anything, but its still a solid little 3 hour outing.

Point and click mediocre. Esta ok
