(V2.0 Demo)

i dont think much was finished by the time i played but i liked the foundations already a lot more than i enjoyed undertale on its own, a really good fan game that i somehow forgot to log on here.

a review of demo v2.0:

another great fangame! the pixel art in this is gorgeous, the character swaps are interesting, and the music is a bop! sucks that it's a demo so far cuz im really enjoying this!

really cool ass fan game demo holy shit. i never really thought much of the original concept of underswap but i really enjoy this newer take on it where while the positions are swapped around still, the characters still maintain their original personality and giving a ton of cool new interactions and even some additional depth to characters like asgore or muffet who didn't get as much screentime in the original game. really excited for the full game whenever that comes out proper.

with us getting games like UT: yellow, Deltatraveler, and now this as of very recently, i really wanna see toby fox do something similar to the fnaf fanverse and let some of these really high quality fangames become officially licensed products, and be able to make money and be available to more people on different platforms.

Um fangame bem competente de Undertale que traz novas mecânicas, personagens e diálogos e também uma nova história. Ainda tá em desenvolvimento, mas já mostra muito potencial.

Pretty good. Would like to see more, though.

T.S Underswap is easily the best Undertale fan game I have ever played. It takes Underswap, an uninteresting character swap AU, and turns it into something special.

T.S Underswap swaps the roles of the characters, but the characters do not switch their personalities. For example, instead of Papyrus acting like Sans, Papyrus still retains his personality while taking up Sans's role in the story. This change makes T.S Underswap far more interesting than the original Underswap. Instead of feeling like Undertale but with different character designs, it’s something more unique.

T.S Underswap follows a similar setup to Undertale. A human falls into the underground and must find a way to escape. You have the choice to spare or fight the monsters you come across. It's similar at first, but the swapped roles of the characters cause things to play out differently.

For example, the ruins are more lively compared to Undertale's Ruins. There are a lot of characters to talk to, and there's even an entire city to explore. The in-game explanation for this is that Asgore is a lot more caring to monsters than Toriel is, so he constantly helps keeps the ruins safe. I loved the addition of the city. There are many fun character interactions and plenty of familiar faces to discover.

The gameplay is the same. You explore the overworld, solving puzzles and getting into combat encounters. The combat is identical to Undertale's. You have the choice to fight the enemy, or you can use the ACT command to spare the enemy. Each enemy is a puzzle. Attempting to figure out what to say to befriend the monster takes a decent amount of thinking. I do love how some of them are challenging to figure out. A mid-boss had me struggling to figure out how to spare them.

The music is fantastic. It’s unique, but still has the same flavor as Undertale’s soundtrack. The battle theme, "Tuffer Upper," perfectly represents this. It's very different from "Enemy Approaching," but it gives you the same feeling that gets you pumped up whenever you start a fight. Other music tracks I love are "We're not Feeling Grand," "A Place To Call Home," "Dogged Pursuit," "Chill by the Grill," and "Stargaze."

As I am writing this, T.S Underswap is still in development. Even so, the demo provided an experience I'll never forget. If you haven't played it already, please do so. It's easily the best Undertale fan game that's out now.
