this was the first multiplayer game i ever played in my life and it scared me

I actually did play this as a very little kid with my parents. It was really strange and I remember it being pretty empty and inaccessible bc of paywalls. I kept all my funkey figurines though and sometimes I look at them like they’re ancient relics lol

the paywalling was pretty egregious, especially for the time. BUT it was undeniably vibes city

Rad childhood memories but when I play it now got dam the most decent minigame is the qix knockoff

SNACKS!!!! these bitches use to be bussin! They use to think i was plain hide n seek but i was really in the bushes eatin dese mfs

ub funkeys was my childhood game, so im incredibly binded by nostalgia. HOWEVER there is a lot of good in this game even if there is a lot of bad. to get it out of the way, yes toys to life was a horrible predatory scam that is only rivaled by the gacha system in games. That trend can be somewhat blamed on ub funkeys because it was one of the first ever to do it. The game still has so many things to love, the art, the music, even if the gameplay itself was nothing too special, the design and care that went into creating the world was real. The environments are really unique and nice pieces of art, the character designs are still fun and cute, and the games are fun when you are the intended audience, that being a kid. i have played the game to completion and over the course of all my life collected one of each kind of funkey (excluding the ones that were unreleased, some of them at least). I will love this game to death no matter how bad of a corporate scam it was. sprout is the best funkey btw and also please listen to the ost at least some of it the songs are fun

this game feels like something i imagined because nobody i've talked to ever remembers it, i don't know where my hub or my figures went, i barely remember the game and there's so little record of it online, but what little i do remember wasn't that thrilling and the bad guys running around basically everywhere meant it was really hard to get a moment to just relax and explore

we were too poor to really buy more anyway so i kinda quietly got bored of this game and stopped

Amazingly nostalgic. I still have all my old Funkeys. Too bad playing this game now requires more effort than med school.

I sometimes see these things at goodwill

This was clearly a scheme to bleed kids dry of any money. Can't say they didn't have vision, Skylanders and Nintendo later did the same but with more success.
I didn't feel like I got anything worth a damn back in the day tho. I should replay it, see what I missed.

The selling point was super cool back in the day, but I never figured out what you were even meant to do in this game. I thought it was gonna be like Club Penguin. It was not.

I had about two funkeys so couldn’t do much and no internet..I only remember it vaguely.

u.b. funkeys unironically goes hard as fuck

It's been literally like 14 years since I played this but I do remember playing with the figurines WAY more than the actual game. Like, why would I play some buggy-ass computer game when I can pretend this skeleton dude is The Undertaker throwing Jeff Hardy off of my nightstand??

My friend had this game and it was the coolest shit at the time
