More of the same as Yo Kai Watch 1, with some improvements but also more downsides. The story is a good expansion on the original with both familiar and new areas to explore and even more Yo Kai to befriend. Held back by the annoying Key Quest feature that was made to pad out the story and an unnecessary barrier to entry for the post game content. Unless you feel like grinding levels like a motherfucker, you're not getting anywhere after the credits roll. Like the first entry, worth a casual playthrough but hard to recommend the post game stuff. Also, don't get Bony Spirits. Get Psychic Specters instead since that's your Pokemon Emerald or Platinum equivalent.

If you chose Fleshy Souls consider yourself an opp

Tiene todo lo que al anterior le faltaba menos el Gameplay que es MID

Ok this doesnt give a good reason for the downgrade in abilities from the prior title and the first two chapters being just reduxes of the first game felt like an error. Points for having a time travel plotline that doesn't fall apart when you poke a hole into it.

From a vanilla YKW2 perspective, it improves and runs circles around the first game (not that it was bad or anything), to the point where the first game kinda becomes redundant to play, especially after playing this game.

All the new things this game adds, from the Model Zero watch to the Wicked Tribe, they evolve the concept not by a lot, but just enough to become it's own separate beast.

The story is also pretty great. Quests are now more substantial and play a bigger role, shoutouts to the Jibanyan's Secret quest in particular. The villain, Dame Dedtime, is properly introduced at an appropriate point within the middle of the story unlike McKracken who was introduced near the end.

However, this doesn't mean there are problems, as there are.

The Crank-a-Kai is back, and with it, the bullshit RNG came back too. This is especially a problem with the all new Oni Crank introduced in this game, as a lot of evolutions from the first game are locked through this method.

Also like the first game, some Yo-kai designs are hit-or-miss. Some, like a majority of the Classic Yo-kai, the shrunken down Befriend-able Bosses, and Gutsy Bones's lineage all look fantastic. But there are also designs that aren't as good, such as Robbinyu or Snobetty. There's less duds, but that doesn't mean they don't exist.

Lastly, the dual-release format. Why? Wouldn't it be better to just release the game as one instead?

Overall, I'd recommend this game without hesitation, but I would advise to be cautious, especially with the dual release format.

va duro ojala kimerreal me hiciera una paja con los pies

not as good as the first one but its still aight

Well this sequel is all over the place and a bit confusing too, though there a lot of funny moments than the first like the beginning, when Whisper got trapped because of Gusty Bones and more, but I feel it drags on and not in the fun way like the first and the key quest are bit annoying but thankfully not all the time. This game introduced my favorite Yo Kai of all time, that is Gusty Bones! (He's funny and great design) and other mentions, Tolietta, and Memaridyn! Terror time... is a downgrade from the first, as you no longer fight the Oni's anyone but you can get prizes from the orbs. The post game is ridiculous as you in the other versions of Yo kai watch 2 to get more playthough and the other games are not cheap their really expensive which is frustrating. Despite that it's a decent game but a bit less good than the first.

The best Yokai Watch game ngl

Liked a lot

Falls short of the heights of yo kai watch 1. Just a bit of a strange game

better than the first in a lot of ways in terms of content, but the way you get some yokai; require the other games/eshop verion only is insane

good but i hate that they went for 2 versions instead of 1 nonetheless still good

This franchise makes my spirits really Bony

This game is just an embarrassment of riches, the world is so detailed and there are so many fun little things to do. In addition to completing the story and collecting the Yo-Kai there's also the special missions, tons of maps to explore, minigames to play, fish and bugs to catch, and also the mystery spots, the urban legends, the gatcha machine, the endless tunnel... you can lose HOURS to this game. Add to that the nearly lethal levels of charm in the design and writing plus a healthy dose of humor and you have a great game that deserved a lot better than it got.

Major drawback is that the level of RNG to the combat/capture system is grating at times, but even then the battles can be very compelling when you get into the groove of it.

I hate when you're in the school and you have to try and dodge the balls

My personal favorite but I do think the quests come way too late , other than that pretty awesome , albeit pretty cheesey at times
