Unsure why the elephant game for children has such an intellectual story. I wasn't really paying attention and then at the end there's like, musings on democracy and you're suppressing a robot uprising? weird just let me shoot peanuts and push boxes around until I solve the puzzles

Cute game. A little annoying in places and I have no reason to ever touch it again but it was nice for the couple hours it took me to play through.

This is one I've had on my wishlist since I got my switch 6 years ago. It was holding it up. But I've finally gone for it. It wasn't quite what I was expecting, in terms of story at least. Surprisingly philosophical for a cute game about an elephant.

The puzzles were pretty decent as were the dungeons, although the isometric view sometimes hindered depth perception. Otherwise, a decent enough puzzle oriented rpg, which very much has influence from zelda and final fantasy etc. It looks pretty good, too. Big, bright, bold colours. Very Nintendo.

I'm glad I finally got this off the wishlist at least.

Complete playthrough. Yono and the Celestial Elephants is an utterly charming game, with simple, bright and colourful graphics and an unchallenging plot. The gameplay is somewhat in the style of a 2D Zelda game, which is what attracted me to the game, and on that front it's serviceable enough, but very much on the easy side - to the extent that on occasion Yono can start to feel somewhat tedious; it is, however, quite short (taking somewhere around 3-5 hours for a full playthrough), so this feeling doesn't become too pronounced.

A very lineal Zelda-like game where we play as an extremely adorable elephant sent to bring peace to a world filled with puzzles. Both exploration and combat are fairly easy, but doesn't get too tedious. However, I don't know if I'd recommend this game to small children, as the story is pretty complex compared with what I was expecting from such a game.

I was so ready to love Yono.

It was announced in a Nintendo Direct, and my wife and I instantly loved the idea. An isometric Zelda-like where you play as a cuboid elephant?! It sounded perfect. We bought it day 1.

But here's the thing. Beyond the incoherent lack of direction (we spent most of our time wandering), the horrifying character designs and voices, and the obtuse puzzles, the game just flat-out handles poorly. Controlling Yono is a struggle at all times, and that was ultimately the last straw for us. The idea and aesthetic is cute enough that we would have completed the game if Yono the Infernal Elephant just controlled better.

extremely cute and charming Zelda-like adventure starring a baby elephant. Ends a bit abruptly and some of the writing is a lot heavier (relatively speaking) than one would expect from a game with these aesthetics, but that kinda adds to the quirky charm of it all.

Short, simple, and charming as heck.
