I played it in coop and it wasn't a good idea.
Its way better in single player. Cute visuals and fun level design with a lot of collectables.
Horrible music when lottery happens.
Fun for platformers and Yoshi fans alike.

La sombra de Yoshi's Island es alargada, pero sale muy bien del paso. Los escenarios son preciosos y aunque se centra más en la exploración que en el desafio, tiene sus momentos tensos. La peor parte para mi se la llevan las mecánicas del cooperativo

Like it's alright but.... not yoshi feel

I can't remember why I gave up on this game after only 2 hours, all I know is I have zero desire to play it again.

The only thing giving this game 1 and a half stars is the fact that it looks gorgeous, otherwise this game is absolutely atrocious.

whoever composed the soundtrack for this game i am approaching your location with malicious intent

the difficulty is just not there, and the style is not cute enough to justify it. it's still a good time though

Very cute game I love the little doggys

100% complete, including all flowers collected and all costumes unlocked. While the core platforming gameplay is undeniably on the easy side, key to fully experiencing the Yoshi games is going after all of the collectibles - and Yoshi's Crafted World is no exception. Evolving the yarn theme from Yoshi's Woolly World, this latest game now sees its levels being built from papercraft, and in doing so, there's some exceptional creativity on display - levels range from jungles to space and from rivers to haunted houses. Pretty much every level brings something new to the gameplay, including races, shooting and magnetic platforms to name but a few, ensuring that the game stays interesting despite the relative lack of difficulty.

When it comes to collectibles, there's the typical flowers, red coins and hearts to collect in every level (though there are now often more than the five flowers seen in earlier games), but these are now complemented by a range of 'souvenir' papercraft sets that the game challenges you to collect, with several different designs hidden in each level. These aren't ideally implemented, however, as only one type can be collected at a time, necessitating multiple attempts at every level which becomes overly repetitive - it's a nice idea, but there are about twice as many as would have been ideal in my mind.

The other notable downside is the game's music, which is very bland, especially when compared to the excellent soundtrack of Yoshi's Woolly World. While this didn't detract too much from the otherwise excellent presentation, it's definitely a disappointing aspect.

However, despite these two notable issues, overall I really enjoyed my time with Yoshi's Crafted World which stands up well against the other recent games in the series and really shines in creativity above all.

Yoshi games just arent for me I guess

🎮 Platform: Nintendo Switch

📚 Full Review:
This game reminded me a lot of Kirby's epic yarn. But just not as fun. This game was some how just missing the magic. There were a few levels here and there but just because its a 1st party title doesn't mean it has the charm, the music, the fun that oozes out of most 1st party nintendo games. I just can't put my finger on it. Its almost as if they hired the B team here.

The biggest Issue i had with this game was the gating of zones by # of flowers you collect playing each level. Because I didn't think it was a stellar game, i really just wanted to finish the levels and just beat the game, so i often rushed through levels which bit, me because i got gated to next zone for not having enough collectible flowers. Now I have to go back and replay levels to collect more and more flowers. I got to about 75% of the game and then when i had to basically start looking up how to replay levels to get more flowers on youtube (I am not a platform veteran/expert), i said i should stop.

Most of the levels were basic and fine. Few levels were creative and things i hadn't seen before. This is no super mario 3d world.

Love the vibes and art style of this game! Really charming and laid back, with a ton of cool ideas. Some levels did tend to drag on though, and a lot of the extra stuff is just not worth it imo. But still had a great time with the base content :)

It's fine, I guess. Nothing terrible, but it just feels like another Yoshi platformer to me. Doesn't seem to change much from Woolly World, and the new concepts it DOES introduce aren't really explored a ton.

A pretty underwhelming platformer. It's a fun idea playing the same level again from the "back" side, but it was weird and repetitive as heck and the mini Poochy seeking was way to annoying. Thank god that's mostly optional.
Playing in multiplayer is kinda fun - if you're not trying to achieve something in that game. Otherwise it can be so irritating, we left the game for weeks.
Woolly World had such top tier music and for this game it crashed down to that weird squeaky bs that gave me headache - how?? At least graphically it's on par with it's predecessor, and some levels do have creativity.

(impressions from demo)

This is some Nick Jr type shit what the fuck

bad music, BEAUTIFUL GRAPHICS, bad controls, bad game

You know what’s worse than a game being bad, being completely forgettable. At least an awful game can leave a lasting impact on you. I remember nothing about this game except for how ear-piercingly bad the music is.

I’ll probably forget it even exists in a day or two if I’m being honest.

Played this game with my 6 year old daughter and I can see how, if played solo, this game could be thoroughly enjoyable - The level design is great, the world is vibrant and beautiful, the story and characters are fun and the replayability is decent... However, all of these things amount to nothing when you're playing co-op with a 6 year old.

Yoshi can do a number of things - Jump (And float a bit), butt-slam, eat enemies to make eggs and throw said eggs. Unfortunately, someone made the decision that, in co-op, one Yoshi can sit on another Yoshi's back and be carried around without their consent, this causes further problems when the Yoshi doing the carrying is now not allowed to throw eggs, instead, only the Yoshi who's being carried can throw eggs - and with no way of getting the carried Yoshi off your back without repeatedly asking 'Get off my back! Get off my back!!', this becomes quite the ordeal.

Now, it's worth noting at this point that my daughter enjoyed being carried around, A LOT, I would argue probably most of the game, as you can imagine, this was a problem and I started to wonder why I suggested this game in the first place. Luckily for me, there was another way to carry her around - INSIDE MY MOUTH (Yoshi's mouth, obviously!) Of course though, this was also not a permanent solution as I can't eat the enemies to get more eggs if my daughter is taking residence inside my mouth the whole time.

Aside from these two MAJOR issues, the constant bumping into each other, all of the times my daughter's Yoshi blocks my eggs throws and that one level right near the end of the game that was so uncharacteristically terrifying that it had my daughter screaming 'CARRY ME! CARRY ME!' so loud that I thought I was going to lose all hearing in my right ear, this game was great! Poochy is the best dog.

Mid, but it's Woolly World's cousin so it's still pretty good.

Cute, creative level design, well-hidden collectibles and deceptively easy gameplay that becomes rather challenging towards the last fifth of the main game (especially collecting everything). An absurd amount of paper crafting polish from Nintendo here. The bosses were far too simple though and the music has practically no variety and plays the same level song for a good 20 levels…

the levels were fun but the bosses were boring. the suits you can put on are cute. 100% requirements are dumb

Cuteness can go quite a long way in making a game more palatable. Gameplay-wise, this is a run-of-the-mill platformer with almost no challenge bar a handful of weirdly tuned levels. Aesthetically, though, this is a total treat - every level has this adorable hand-crafted feel to it, and the soundtrack being made up of mostly recorders and kazoos (instruments predominantly used by children) adds even more wholesome energy to the experience. Not my favorite game of this kind, but I wouldn't trade the straight vein of good vibes this gave me for anything.

such a fun chill platformer with adorable visuals! too bad the music is painful to listen to and there's no option to turn it off separate from the sound effects

It's not quite as fun as Wooly World, but still a chill platformer that's worth checking out.

I loved this game. Loved the visuals and creativity. Super cute!
