This borders the line between a game and just a really cool simulator, but the fact that you have near-to-life accurate reproductions of vehicle physics and giant, sprawling, near-to-life accurate maps of existing locations (such as Moab, Utah) to just drive around in makes this a super cool experience.
There's lots of stuff to do in-game, as it offers a campaign along with scenarios and time-attack challenges, but I literally poured 10 hours into just exploring the maps and crashing in various ways THE DAY I BOUGHT IT. Strangely addicting. At some point I'll have to go and play through the campaign, and check out all the community created content and mods this offers.

Really fun car simulator............... I really don't have anything else to say I just really liked crashing cars and trying to get the worst crash I can possibly get.

i want to like this game but it has a long ways to go.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to make car squish good

Comments:

So, lets get this out of the way first: BeamNG.drive (in its current state) is not a game, but a true blue driving sim. If you are looking for a "video game" driving game you will probably not enjoy this, but if you enjoy: driving simulations, cars in general, or wrecks, then you will probably like this game.

There are some short campaigns and some scenarios that do add some narrative, and the AI controls allows for endless possibilities with a little imagination. Driving feels great, and you can do all of it here, from Sunday cruising, rock crawling, destruction derbies, and classic racing BeamNG.drive has it all. My only real complaint here is that there is no in game radio. I would love some built in radio stations, or even a way to add my own music/internet radio into the game, it honestly feels missing. With that being said, as far as I am aware this is the most realistic driving sim currently available.
I highly recommend it.

Overall Score: 4.5/5

Great racing sim... I just need a wheel to fully enjoy it.

istg dude this game is so fucking good

Please for the love of god this game is NOT just a crash simulator :(

Well made vehicle simulator.

Just picking a random car and driving around a big city is very relaxing.

My only problem is no native multiplayer support (as far as I know) and setting up a 3rd party one is incredibly tedious, (we still havent figured out how to set up a server) but I won't dock any points on that.

this game is so heavy on your pc for no reason at all but its pretty good, usually when i play it i just zone out and slam into trees repeatedly but it is pretty fun and relaxing

A super solid game/simulator hybrid that obviously had a lot of love poured into it by the developers. The constant additions of new material to mess around with as well as map and model reworks will never leave you bored.

Note to curators: BeamNG.drive was released on August 3rd 2013.

Lack of actual things to do holds this wonderful sandbox back from being a fun video game.

This game just never gets old, I think I will always have it on my PC just to have fun sometimes.

this game is so awesome its unreal its like the perfect game for some destruction shit idk why it frames itself as a racing game or whatever now but its chill i wish it didnt run like dogshit if you accidentally fuck with a slider or some shit too much

Not just a crash sim, the driving mechanics and details are incredibly in depth, with time this will eventually become a premier driving simulator.

"haha car go crhsrhshfshdh" is the most atrophy-brained ass take i've ever seen on what is ultimately, the most thorough simulation of vehicles, not just their operation, i've ever seen. it has become the ultimate "going for a drive to clear my mind" simulator as far as i'm concerned, and it doesn't have the risk of death along with it. i haven't needed to get any racing/driving sim since i got this back in 2016, because it does everything it needs to and then some.

(the following is copy-pasted from my steam review, still relevant, still how i feel)

at some point in my lifetime, it is likely that the internal combustion engine and its use in transport will be phased out. beam.ng will likely remain the most complete simulation of such explosive machines and the deadly carriages of metal (or plastic if you're saturn), not just a simulation of merely operating them. the entire machine, and its hazards, simulated. by the time most pistons are replaced by massive lithium heaps that stop holding a charge after 3 years, beamng might still be around, possibly still in development. i will likely be dumping photosynthesized oils into a soot producer to get a nice 0-60 of 20 seconds, and still be just as enthused about the simulated machines in beamng.drive then as i was 5 years ago.

Probablemente el juego con las físicas de deformación mas realistas hasta la fecha (y aun mas sorprendente es sabiendo que viene de un estudio bastante pequeño).

my poor laptop, powering this game: GOD ITS LIKE IM ON FIRE WHEN WILL THIS HELL END SAVE ME
me: heehoo im a lil bus driver :)

This is Arma 3 but for cars. Simulation over everything else. Find your own fun. Love it! However, unlike Arma 3 it actually runs well but doesn't have official multiplayer. You win some, you lose some. It's also the only game that works perfectly well with my extremely cheap racing wheel.
