got spoiled on it early but it holds up surprisingly well

dont care for the cast or plot. the only truly good things are the music and the look of the game and those wear off decently quick

Gonna be honest, this game's story is fuckin amazing. Way better than the other games, at least. It manages to have a consistent and thrilling pace while still giving characters time to breath, even if that time isn't always well spent.

THH, for a first game, still manages to hold up really well compared to the other two games. Like yeah sure the cases aren't that great, some of the controls and mechanics are outdated, the character writing is honestly pretty weak outside of a few notable examples, but it still manages to stand on its own despite that. I really do love THH and have almost a bit too much to say on it? Especially considering I 100% it, I've seen practically everything this game has to offer. While I wouldn't recommend you do the same because that was torture, this game is still worth playing. I might add more to this later, I dunno. Like I said, I have a lot to say.

If Ace Attorney somehow isn't over-the-top and anime enough for you.

I really enjoyed this game. For the most part, I was enthralled from the beginning. It was pretty interesting, and I’ve heard the ending is somewhat lame, but I thought it was pretty cool. I enjoyed it a lot. However, there are a fair number of characters that are just plain uninteresting or bad. And the script is laughable at times, falling into Kingdom Hearts bad with how cheesy the “Hope and Despair” talk is. Even still, I found this a very cool game, and the Saw influences are very apparent. And appreciated.

Weakest of the 3. The cast is more bad than good, the good ones are REALLY good though, but its not enough. A lot of the trials feel like they have filler and talking in circles. The ending is definitely the weakest of the 3 games and goes on for too long. I can't imagine going back to this one, with it lacking mechanics like consent.

i think that this game is absolutely without a doubt a 5 star game but i really dislike hifumi and chihiro is not handled well. those two things are unironically so horrible that it really casts a dark shadow on the game. but everything else about this game is SOOOO good

A game that has aged poorly with the characters have major stereotypical personalities or events, be it apart of common or anime. The DR1 cast obviously is not all bad because of Kyoko and Asahina, but there are some terrible ways they handled it like Hifumi and Chihiro. The atmosphere is best in this game, I love walking around the school and how its artstyle and lighting go so well to make the perfect dark tone you want. The only bad cases in this game are 3 and 4, they're not the worst but they're certainly not the best either. I can criticize so much about this game but, at the same time, I love it too much to do that.

Kingdom Hearts but written as a murder mystery

me:
danganronpa voice: danganronpa

Not quite visual novel, not quite adventure game. Still the best title of its kind.

This story of ‘Ultimates’ falls somewhere between melodrama and allegory, and it mostly works. That is, until it decides to explain every mystery and human motivation in excruciating detail.

Danganronpa just doesn’t know what to do with its narrative extremes. The shocks come so regularly they bore, and the conservative mechanics can’t keep up. Schlepping down hallways, clicking on clues, mini-gaming each trial – the game settles into rhythms that are already stale by the second murder.

And it goes on so very long. A 5-hour story stretched over a 25-hour game. This must be what they mean by ‘Ultimate Despair’.

Nenhum personagem é realmente bom aqui, nenhum dos assassinatos são interessantes, o meu favorito foi o do segundo caso mesmo, mas o jogo termina perfeitamente incrível, mas não chega aos pés dos outros da franquia.

Danganronpa

me: .... 760.. 5 ???

There's a few obvious points where DR1 hasn't aged well (nor was it better at the time, really) and Case 3 is bar none the worst in the series. That said, there's still a lot to love, story-wise—this is the only game in the series that takes its premise seriously—and the characterization and soundtrack are fantastic.

Haha Monokuma go puhuhuhuhu

this is probably the best danganronpa game, idk i havenmt played v3 yet

dangandropna do do od ododood odododod

a good foundation for the rest of franchise, but not really anything else.

It's good, and most of the music is excellent. But it's dwarfed by its sequels.
