Definitely a step up in the setting, story, and soundtrack department. But its still stuck with those janky GTA3 mechanics. Shooting's still clunky, movement on foot still sucks, and there's some truly awful missions laid in here. The whole 'dying in water' mechanic is even more offensive in this game due to the setting.

IDK, I'm not big on the 80's so VC didn't have as big of an impact on me.

I probably prefer this to any gta game, the soundtrack is amazing and I used to fancy the hell out of Lance Vance.

THE CLASSIC AND THE FUTURE AT THE SAME TIME ROCKSTAR ROCKSTAR ROCKSTARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

A new favorite for sure. Plus, Dennis Hopper plays a porn Director, so of course I love it.

Only complaint is how some stupidly difficult some missions can be, especially depending on what platform you're using (PC in my situation). Still a classic, and I love the 80s setting and aesthetic.

Aged like Milk. Not a Certified Hood Classic.

San Andreas is my favorite overall, but goddamn Vice City is amazing. The soundtrack is the best in the series by far, and it captures the charm of 80's Miami really well. It's only hindered by being so short that it has a padding section where you have to grind your buisnesses to progress through the main plot near the end, and that really breaks the flow up to that point.

best GTA game, i hope VI takes us back to vice city.

Great aesthetic, soundtrack and setting but game loses steam when you have to start doing the businesses. Big improvement over 3 but completely outshined by SA.

My favorite GTA game, and perhaps the one with my favorite setting.

ever watch miami vice? neither have rockstar

Just to clarify, this rating is for the non-PS4 version, since it has all the good music still. There is nothing quite like popping this game in, stealing a car, and driving around the city to some amazing soundtracks.

The best atmosphere, music, and story of any GTA game. I love every bit of it.

Easily my favourite GTA game based purely on the 80s setting: this game got me into the 80s and I'm not even ashamed.

The bad news is that she has NOT aged well, the worse news is that i didn't play it when it was new which means that i don't have the nostalgia factor to add to it. The GOOD news is that even with all that, it's still clearly good enough for me to be uncomfortable giving it less than a 3

One of the easiest games for me to pick up and play casually, whether loading up a save or starting a new game to get a fresh sense of progression through missions, rampages, and hidden package collection.

I liked the cheat code video game as a wee lad.

One of the first games I've ever played. Opened my eyes to gaming.

My feelings on this are very similar to GTA 3. But I prefer Vice City for the obvious reasons of the setting, soundtrack, characters and mission variety.

aged pretty poorly but still has a lot of great things

The bugs in this game are so massive, it's impossible not to be affected by them, the missions with airplane are incredibly painful.

Overall it's a good game, not the best in the genre as it once was due to time, it became dated due to modern games like GTA 5 and RDR2 but still is a special game and a good one to play.

Taking the original game, tweaking the mechanics, if only a little, creating a more enthralling story with extremely memorable voice acting, adding elements that were missing from the first game... This is what sequels should be like, in all ways better than the previous game without forgetting what made it so good.

A perfect soundtrack, but the gameplay can be pretty frustrating, the map is kinda small and while the characters are pretty funny, the story and the writing itself isn't anything to write home about.
