When I replayed this entire series before the kh3 release this game really stood out as special. Gameplay-wise it really isn't the best in the series but the atmosphere and story really have no match.

Acho os mundos muito interessantes e bem trabalhados, um jogo realmente desfiador e difícil de se jogar, mas algumas mecânicas são meio travadas mas no geral é bem gostosinho de se jogar.

Good gameplay and concept, but oh dear god is this the definition of anime cringe. If you dislike the horrible tropes of anime please don't touch this game, and if you do anyway don't take the game seriously. It's weird seeing the Final Fantasy characters and Disney characters in one place, but it oddly works so props to them. Just ok.

Probably the best (funniest) written game of ever

I never liked Disney too much but I found it really amusing how it was crossed over with Final Fantasy of all things, and that's what ultimately led to me playing through this game.

Pretty good, kind of elevated by being the start of a good, longstanding series. Combat is fun with some jank, but it feels good when you're used to it. Wonderland is lame and Atlantica is worse, but the other worlds are enjoyable.

Compared to the newer ones, gameplay is basic but man for the first game in the series it is still a banger.

This game has aged really well. The beginning couple hours are a slog, but the story is still simple and world is interesting and the gameplay is deceptively simple. Still absolutely worth a playthrough in 2020.

Probably the game that got me into jrpgs and action games

The beginning of my obsession with Kino

A shot in the dark that continues to pay off all these years later. A generally fun game with an interesting original story as well as varying takes on many well loved stories from your childhood.
Only negatives are you can really tell this was the beginning for this series,it has teething problems and can be frustrating at times, even on the ps4 version, and you'll more than likely have to look up what to do at points if you're unfamiliar with the series.
Regardless, this is where the series took off and it's an enjoyable and fun game that people continue to love even after 2 decades.

Pretty enjoyable exploring with good combat that would be improved upon on the sequels

Worst KH story, camera and gameplay is 2001 wonky

Game shows it age but its a really unique beast for its time and it has the best atmosphere of all the KH games I've played

a fine game as is, and is probably the only kh game that nails disney charm right, combat is fun but its levels are plagued with clunky platforming that does not feel good, also fuck deep jungle

honestly in need of a revisit after experiencing the whole series, but i was largely unimpressed by the gameplay and story. albiet both had sparks of interest that are later followed up amazingly in later games.

played through 1.5. ya gotta be a special kind of person to truly love it

Kingdom Hearts is one few games that I would say deliver on a real time JRPG combat system in a way that feels cohesive and enjoyable, while also delivering a touching and sincere story about a boy trying desperately to find himself and reunite with his friends. Highly recommended.

The story of this game is pretty good and sets up later parts pretty well, the gameplay is a little old and you can really feel it in the clunkiness of combat. Magic OP.

Peak comfy vibes in video games, and you get to beat up little kids to your heart's content in the opening section.

Best non combat content in the series by a country mile. There's a lot of love in this game for sure. That being said, the combat leaves a lot to be desired with pretty basic combos and pretty unresponsive moves and abilities. The level design here was unfortunately the best its been here. The platforming is not as bad as people say. I actually like it; you just have to get good and adjust to the lack of coyote time. The side content is also probably the best its been here thanks to the great level design. Forever grateful for what this game gave us.

A series I have no regrets in ever trying

a mid precursor to an amazing series

A stand-alone Masterpiece. Any imperfections in Kingdom Hearts 1 are small compared to the brilliance the first Kingdom Hearts has in every area. It is the best game in the series overall.
There will never be another KH like KH 1 with many of its wholly unique decisions, but that's alright. The series developed other strengths and features after this point, and that's fine.

I can't believe they explained why Mickey wasn't wearing a shirt at the end in 0.2
