Mechanics are nice, but DS was more fun.

Fun mario kart but also it lacks the fun features of the actually good mario kart games. Honey Queen is pretty based though.

A fun game for the 3DS that's just what you'd expect out of a Mario Kart game.

This's pretty much the only Mario Kart game that's straight-up outclassed by another, that being 8. At the time this game was really cool besides the lame roster, but nowadays it's really hard to go back to. In any case, the quality of this game on its own is good, but I'd argue that it's far less worth playing nowadays than either of its two predecessors.

Mario Kart 8 iterates on 7's ideas to the point where it makes it a little redundant but that doesn't stop it being an excellent game in its own right and I do miss its Wuhu Island courses.

Why doesn't the game have a versus mode like the others? What a weird exclusion

like someone else said, a great experience for the mobile 3ds that is now thoroughly replaced by the switch.

I used to bring my 3DS to school to play this and Smash Bros with my friends. It was so nice to have a portable Mariokart game (8 deluxe killed it though)

This game added alot that mario karts today use normally so thats cool but cause of that its not very fun to go back to.

Holy fucking shit this game is so goddamn good especially with friends, my 2nd mario kart game and by god i will die on the hill of it being the best portable mario kart game. I love you mario kart 7. 9/10

There is literally zero reason to play this now that 8 is out. At least the other older games have some unique elements to set them apart, but 8 is just Mario Kart 7, but better.

A very worthwhile Mario Kart experience. Fits greatly on a handheld and the course selection is pretty good - holds almost zero reason to go back to it at this point though

It's Mario Kart. If you've ever played a Mario Kart game, you'll know what to expect. With that said, Mario Kart is quite fun, and this game is no exception.

Doesn't have Waluigi

It’s a fun game. Has new mechanics and new graphics. It doesn’t feel revolutionary compared to the DS version though, I feel like it’s the worse handheld kart game. Even so, its still a great game on its own.

Overall, this is a great karting game, and a must play for karting fans even if the DS version is better. 8.5/10, 4.5/5
