Fairly stuffed for a party game. Don't really know for certain whether the other GameCube Mario Party games were like this, too, but this game has like a quadrillion modes, both for single player and multiplayer. I played it when I was a child solo and with friends and it was pretty fun, but now that I did it as an adult not too long ago... Yeah, it's awkward. Too many pauses and slow actions, so it's a tough sale for certain demographics.
Also, it's one of those rare GameCube games that used the mic accessory (and it does it badly) and it also features an 8-Player mode, which is fairly amusing, to be honest.
The minigames were fun, btw.

The memory card mic is goated even though they only have like 3 mini games for it. Took me way too long to beat solo cruise. Not sure why you have to play this multiplayer game by yourself to unlock more all of the maps. It’s GameCube Mario party so it’s fun. Oh and we need more lore about Koopa Kid.
I really like the 8 player mode and its mic minigames, but they can feel very gimmicky at times (especially the mic minigames). But overall I'd say this is a fun Mario Party game, though at this number it has begun to feel a bit stale compared to older games in the franchise. But if you don't own the previous ones, this isn't wrong by any means.

Ok, this game was good and had it's ups and downs, as usual. The game had good characters, boards, gimmicks, plot, and mini games. The boards, like the one with the windmills and the Chinese one were both pretty good, but I really liked the Chinese map, that was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed playing it. The characters are good, especially when they added characters that were from 6, which were boo, birdo, dry bones and toadette. And the mini games, like the one where you have to collect one of each different type of music note, I enjoyed that one and thought it was pretty fun. I also like the story. The story is Mario is just wondering around and toads worth offers him a ride on a boat with his friends and he accepts and then Bowser doesn't want Mario to relax so he went to the island (which is whatever board you pick) that Mario was going to. I thought it was good and is somewhat interesting. But of course, there are the downs, the graphics. The weird thing is, I think the graphics in this game are the worst graphics out of the four GameCube Mario Party games. They look like they didn't try there best on the graphics like they did with the other three GameCube Mario Party games. Overall, this game was good and and how it's ups and downs, as most games have, and I think they somewhat tried their best.
Of the Gamecube Mario Parties, this one was certainly my favorite. The main reason was because of the strength of the game's boards - there's a great world travel theme to them that works really well, also all of them have some neat gimmick to them as well. Additionally the game has a lot of minigames, more than previous games, which probably helped.
This is one of those games that's ruined by a single feature:
Bowser is OP.
I did not grow up with this game. In fact, I hadn't touched it until 2020. But now, I think that Mario Party 7 has some of the greatest boards in the whole franchise, and the minigames are quite good as well. But every single match runs the risk of Bowser completely ruining it.
Bowser appearing in the last five turns to shake things up is nothing unique to this game, but he's shockingly aggressive here. More Bowser spaces are added, and if someone lands on one, they have to complete a challenge to avoid a horrible consequence. Every single time any of us landed on a space, there were only two consequences that we got:
1. Everyone who loses at this minigame loses ALL of their coins
2. Everyone who loses at this minigame loses ALL of their stars
Out of 12 games that we played, 7 of them had all four of us lose everything we had in the final five turns, because these Bowser minigames are the most unfair and brutal in the series. Have a look if you're unfamiliar: https://youtu.be/5tLjiDWG6B0
It's a great game! But it is SO eager to rip all of your progress away from you, rendering the entire game up to that point a waste of time.
