Stalker Anomaly is the definitive Stalker experience: for all the flaws the mainstream titles have, Stalker Anomaly ameliorates and fully immerses the player in the atmosphere & survival experience the Stalker series is known for. If you don't want to play through the three main games, Stalker Anomaly delivers everything they have to offer & more.

Everyone says Anomaly is "the definitive stalker experience" and I agree with that. But the caveat they forget to mention is that Anomaly is not exactly new player-friendly. It is mostly for people already familiar with the universe set by the originals, for players that seek an ultimate customizable sandbox, one that can create their individual vision of what a "definitive experience" should look like.

So if you have the patience to mod Anomaly and tweak every little setting to fit your view of what a perfect stalker game should be, then yes, it is wonderful.

If you got directed to Anomaly by some rando on twitter and are new to the series, just want to see what's up before Stalker 2 hits, I recommend sticking with the originals.

Only delve into Anomaly (and other mods) once you start to feel the OGs are not enough to satisfy your desire to wander the Zone. Once you start to have thoughts like "wouldn't it be cool if..."

The current Freeplay mod with a load of addons and a large community following.

This game is basically a bed for mods, you can have some of the most immersive and anti-immersive mods at the same time, ultra realistic shaders, upgraded and better guns, anime shid, basically anything, one of the best shooter games out there imo.

It does crash a lot depending on your graphics settings and how many mods you have tho.

The definitive way to play Stalker in 2022.

Objectively the best way to experience STALKER (until STALKER 2 comes out). Take the Call of Pripyat engine and make a standalone game where everything is modular.

Pros
- A stand alone game/mod for STALKER so the base games aren't required
- All the maps from the 3 games are present jammed into one,
- You can play as other different factions as well. Monolith, Duty etc
-You can customize your own experience before you start or in the settings to have the gameplay you want

Cons
- Playing the Trilogy is somehow err.. required in order to get the grasp of how STALKER is played, Oh and since it uses the same maps you can get familiar right away

S.T.A.L.K.E.R Gamma is just peak gaming.

GAMMA FUCKING SUCKS I HATE GAMMA FANS I HATE GAMMA FANS AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

Uma experiência de outro mundo, o carinho, a imersão, a profundidade desse mundo é incrível todo fã de jogos de sobrevivência, mundo aberto, mergulhe nesse mundo de cabeça, aproveite tudo, observe tudo, seja parte de um todo

Brilliant. It's free and has loads of community-made content that expand the play time. While I set the "Time Played" to 100 hours I may have much more than that. Thanks to everyone involved in making this available for free, and thanks for many hours (and many more!!) of fun... and stress!

The concept and design philosophy of the original Stalker games taken to their maximum potential and an outstanding piece of immersion thanks to the malleability of the base game and it's outstanding and passionate community.

Has caused the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. community to become infested with milsim airsoft kids but that's not really the mods fault. Not a fan of the gameplay, though I was never a big fan of any freeplay mods so take my opinion with a grain of salt. Do not play this if you haven't played the original games first.

Though this is a much more noble attempt to fix the wrongs of the original devs, it still feels like I'm missing out on something here. Like am I just playing a different game from everyone else or is this really just a "follow the mission marker, find out you can't access the area, walk into an anomaly, die to a status effect you can't find in the HUD guide menu?"
Like, I enjoy difficult design if there's a purpose to it, but these games still feel kind of more like "wander around til you're bored" mixed with "the menus and items are as inaccessible as possible because uh that makes it feel deep?"
Edit: I gave it another chance and played a few more hours, all of which were spent stumbling into an anomaly hidden in a bush then reloading my save only to turn around and wander into another anomaly hidden in another bush, only to reload and to get one-shotted by a group of mutants who had wandered into the main road and snuck up behind me. It feels more often like the game doesn't want to reward exploration, which totally devalues the entire formula.

Incrivel como conseguiram fazer um jogo parecer tão novo mas ter uma jogabilidade pior que a dos antigos

despite some bloated systems and (potentially) shitty mod installations, the atmosphere and scale of this game never cease to make it way worth it. It’s also just the best way to play stalker

A fantastic mod for a fantastic game, with the option to install more fantastic mods on top of the mod. Stalker anomaly has successfully brought in new fans to the series and essentially helped build up hype for stalker 2. It’s an amazing survival shooter with complex mechanics and horrifying encounters with mutants and other stalkers.

i got suckered (fuckered) into playing GAMMA and while it was fun and immersive the load times got so bad after 30ish hours of playing that i was spending more time in loading screens than in the game. this seems to be expected behavior of the mod based on tech support convos in the gamma discord. if the jank doesnt fuck you up this is stalking pleasure but its definitely worth playing the original games (or even just call of pripyat) before playing an overhaul like anomaly/gamma

I hate anomaly fans, they are vegans of the stalker fandom

É bastante divertido, mas depois de um tempo da mesma repetição, cansa. Ainda mais que eu não pude experimentar os modpacks por conta de limitação de hardware.

i will never stop playing this as long as i live

This game is loads of fun. I've had more than a few sleepless nights because I stayed up playing this game. This game is actually a standalone mod, which builds up on another standalone mod of the original trilogy called Call of Chernobyl, which sought to fuse content of the three games while adding in extra content that was scrapped. While Call of Chernobyl is fun and I had lots of fun playing that, the game had its limitations, particularly with the engine. Anomaly sought to remedy this with the new Monolith X-Ray engine (an open-source custom fork of the X-Ray engine used for the original games). The results are absolutely wonderful, with graphics and gameplay that can rival most AAA survival FPS games (or their equivalents, I'm not sure of any modern survival horror FPS games to be fair)

Anomaly follows the premise of the STALKER series where we get to play as a random stalker of the zone, a place full of danger and profits. There are a ton of different modifiers beyond stat changes to enemies and the economy that can add a layer of difficulty to the game, such as an ironman mode and only being allowed to save in certain parts of the map and the gameplay is really immersive, where you get to feel that you are exploring a mysterious and unknown part of the world where the laws of physics seems to bend at the zone's will

Base anomaly is one thing, but thanks to the strong support of fans and a big modding community, there are tons of mods that can further enhance Anomaly, with new weapons and models, different fixes and changes on top of a whole other bunch of cool features.

Of course, this game is not absolutely perfect as (almost by virtue of the game's titles), the game has its buggy tendencies which can lead to a lot of jank and bullshit. This actually ruins one of the game's "endings" with the wishgranter (which is a monkey's paw so don't fall for it) where if you wish for the zone to disappear, it closes your game (which is technically correct). However, due to the nature of STALKER games the close does seem more like a crash, even though it was FULLY intended to happen.

(NOTE: The time played I have here is only the time I logged since I started using backloggd, as I've been playing this game for way longer but haven't been tracking the time since I launch the game via MO2)

its peak

infelizmente stalker 2 não será uma fração do anomaly/gamma

laptop bricked itself but ive seen videos on it and it looks amazing

this is my stand in review for all (conversion) mods for stalker games i played. probably played anomaly or something based on it.

anyways they all are free and, as far as i saw, never required any of the original games but are so good i ended up buying the other 2 stalker games besides shadow of chernobyl which was my first stalker game, just so i give back to the original developers/asset creators somehow after playing those mods what feels like several hundred of hours combined...probably i should give the modders also some money speaking off...

if u want a sandbox freeform rpg, as hardcore/tactially/survivally as u'd like single player experience and enjoyed the core mechanics of the stalker games (not everyones cup of tea), u should definitely try some of the stalker based mods

What the base game should have been, what Stalker 2 should strive to be. Tarkovky's favourite game of all time. "Stalker, free, for everyone, and let no one be forgotten!"

Modlarla mükemmel. G.A.M.M.A. ve EFP'yi deneyin.

-Tekrara düşen yan görevler.

Drank vodka, downloaded, and fought with stalkers for about 5 hours
