People need to chill put, its a fine game, avatar needs to come back, also Vector is there 7/10

Alright Sonic game that had some cool things. Avatar creator was really good.

The worst game to come from the boost era of Sonic.

this game is fucking trash, the NICEST thing i can say about it is that its stable. Its borderline shovelware

People are comically unreasonably mean to this game specifically for some reason

This game isn't even really bad, just kinda mid.

great example of a middle of the road "we did the bare minimum" type of game. the game works. it isnt inexcusably horrible and it certainly isnt good. it just exists. disappointing considering it had some potential.

One of the most mediocre pieces of media I’ve ever consumed, almost impressively so. Other than the soundtrack and a handful of memeable moments nothing here makes any kind of impression.

Sonic is Real, he is Strong, and he is My Friend.

This game is depressing because of how bad it is. Do not play this.

At the end of this game, Sonic says, "We have to fix the world we live in" and not just "the illusions" the Phantom Ruby created. This implies that Sonic is not into electoralism, a tool that is fixated on the aesthetic differences of power, but in a more material progress, rooted in environmentalism.

I'm not a real Sonic fan. My nostalgia for the character is rooted in Sonic CD. But as an adult, I don't have the reflexes or patience to complete Sonic Mania. As such, Sonic Forces is built for someone like me, particularly in the first 5/6 of the game, where deaths are almost all just dumb mistakes. But I found the final few stages....pretty damn enjoyable, from an arcade perspective.

And I mean....they did pay tribute to almost every era of Sonic. Does it matter why Silver is there? I mean, that's sloppy, but they didn't turn their back on the Sonic '06 fans. You have to admire something so overstuffed with fanservice.

Justice for Big the Cat, though.

I've been pretty disappointed with how 3D Sonic has been handled since Colors and Generations, especially when it comes to the story. It feels like now all the series can do is poke fun at itself and recycle the same basic tropes. Sonic Forces felt like, for the first time in a while, the developers wanted to try and make a story with at least some level of ambition, but were desperately cut short. In general, this game feels unfinished in a way that doesn't make it terrible, just barebones. I can do without the classic Sonic stages, especially because the avatar stages are just classic Sonic but with actually decent controls. The modern Sonic levels are really fun, albeit painfully short.

I think, in a lot of ways, Forces may show promise for the future of the series in trying to right the wrongs of the 2010's. It's sad that this is the best we can get out of 3D Sonic in the meantime.

Bad bad bad bad bad

Play literally any other Sonic game

My first Switch game and a massive disapointment. I won't even bother explaining why because if you know anything about this game you know how and why it's so bad.

imagine being upstaged by a game made by fans you hired and released in the exact same year

Im so glad i paid nothing for this, i played this on vacation

The thing that hurts this game the most is that the Modern Sonic playstyle is way better than Unleashed and Gens but everything else is so much worst

lost potential, this one just bums me out. i went into this hoping it would be the ian flynn archie-esque game i'd always wanted, but it feels like a half-baked attempt at a serious anarchist story written by two comedy men who can't write a plot (this is why generations and colors are their best games; they have naught but the bare bones of a story).
i think the problem with pontac and graff are that they didnt want to commit to writing a serious story, littering the would-be-serious scenes with too much banter. it's hard to picture there being stakes when things liek sonic being tortured for 6 months and knuckles unwittingly leading thousands to their deaths are treated more like jokes. this actually leads me to another issue; saying that P&G have flanderized every character and reduced them to one or two overused tropes would be the understatement of the century. i simply think knuckles has more to him than "im stupid" and i think amy should have more of a role than "the girl". Ian Flynn understands this! Evan Stanley understands this! It's too bad Sega doesn't, but theyre also the ones who get cranky if you introduce a "mechanic" character other than Tails and Eggman so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
I don't want to say this game was rushed because we dont have any proof of that, but....it definitely feels like it's 1/2 of a game.

the most blatantly 'consume product' sonic ever made but i got it for free and the speed still feels good so i guess i can't be too hard on it

I wanted to like Sonic Forces. I really did. Unfortunately, the gameplay and story just don't hold up, even though Infinite's theme is fantastic. I could have put up with boring gameplay if the story was good, but unfortunately they missed the mark there.

Love the game, but beat it in a day

I really like Sonic Forces. It's kind of like a modern Sonic game mixed with an Adventure Sonic game but wasn't fully realized.
The story definitely feels underdeveloped and I feel Infinite wasn't properly utilized, but what's there is still good and I really like Infinite and hope he returns in future games.
Forces looks amazing and the level design is solid. I love Capital City where Infinite manipulates you and the level as you play it.
The custom character was way more fun than I expected. I really enjoyed customizing them and trying out the different weapons. Their stages have amazing music too.
The free Shadow DLC is great too. It's good to play as him in a main game for the first time since Sonic '06.

This game is not as bad as people make it sound. I could be better, but it was just overshadowed by Mania coming out so close around it... 2D and 3D lvls were great... the avatar character lvls I could lose...

it's so unfair being a Sonic fan. but I guess I've no one to blame for that but myself smh

sonic movie the videogame directed by hideous hiroshima

The power of the Hedgehog Engine 2 can’t save mediocre level design, lazy villain reappearances, and wack controls.

I played this game at my friend's apartment. I played for about an hour and a half. It was probably the longest hour and a half of my life. I stopped playing for a while, and we chatted for a bit, before I said "fuck it, let's finish." It took another hour and a half. The only thing I remember is not enjoying playing this game at all. Soundtrack is p good tho.
