In a few more years, a huge number of people will associate this game with childhood. Just like Ocarina of Time did back in the day. 20 years apart, but it was still worth it.

Soooooo incredibly fun for me to get back into Zelda games! I used to play Wind Waker often as a child and loved the puzzles that would come with it as well as the open world exploration. BOTW offers this experience once again in a new and fresh way fit for the modern gaming era and for those that grew up with Wind Waker especially! If you like games where you can explore, complete quests, solve puzzles, and more, then BOTW is definitely a game you have to hit!

De los pocos juegos que me ha hecho sentirme como un niño pequeño otra vez. La sensación de curiosidad de explorar cada pequeño rincón del mundo es genial. Pocas cosas malas se pueden decir.

The first 20 or so hours of the game will trick you into thinking the whole game is full of surprises, when it's actually quite barren. There are very few ideas in the music, but they repeat so often that their dull, terse melodies become too irritable to be ambient.

Breath of the Wild is a great game that introduced a lot of people to the Zelda series, especially younger fans that may not have had the opportunity to play the early titles. The game was fun to go through and experience the first time, and the freedom to explore and complete the game at your leisure was nice as well. Despite all this, I felt like the game was missing something for me. It's a good game, don't get me wrong, but I don't think it feels like a Zelda game. There's something about all the enemies only having slightly upgraded versions of themselves, weapons breaking, and going wherever that really takes me away from the Zelda series as a whole. I think people who start with this game will enjoy it a lot, but if you're looking for dungeons to explore and a sizable (but not unreasonable) amount of collectibles to grab, then Breath of the Wild may not necessarily be what you're looking for.

This is a good ass game. For someone who has never played a single Zelda game before, this could be a good introduction, depending on what kind of games the person has played before.

It immerses you very heavily into the world, until the combat loop becomes repetitive

How did they make this game this good.

WOW, it's the most accurate word to describe my experiencie of played this masterpiece. GOTY by far. It's a game that everyone must try once at least.

Finished years ago but amazing game

y'know im starting to realize a big part of the reason tears of the kingdom feels so new and vast to me, outside of the fact that it just is, is because I played a lot of this game on my Wii U gamepad and I always forget that fact until it's brought up to me.

It was really comfy though, didn't make me love the game any less. What a masterpiece.

Also wasn't going to mention it but weapon degradation is something I actively enjoy because it endorses not relying on strong weapons to overcome every obstacle and keeps you from overpowering the entire game by playing out of "order".

Only thing I really wish is that the shield surfing didn't degrade shields as quickly. There are mods for that but it'd be nice if vanilla accounted for this somehow.

The first couple of hours It was utterly lost. I took only watching one guiding video on YouTube for me to figure out how to tackle the game and after that I was totally in love with it. I must add, this is my first Zelda game and I absolutely adore it.

Took me long enough to pick it up. So glad I found the opportunity to. This game got me back into the good feeling that gaming brings you.

The game isn't bad, overworld is beautiful and for the first couple of hours it feels great to explore. Problems start AFTER those first hours though. There are very few fun or interesting quests to complete and the shrines are extremely lame attempts at puzzles.

The combat is also bad, once you learn flurry rush it's a cakewalk. The only thing holding the player back from destroying every enemy encounter is weapon durability.

Everything that has been said about this masterful experience of a game has been said. This game will make you see things in a different way and snap away at least 40hrs of your life.

I don't think I have enough brain cells to write something intelligent enough to explain how incredible this game is. And I know, it took me a very long time to get my hands on it, but here we are.

This and Elden Ring have pretty much killed the open world genre for me, and for very good reasons. Unsurprisingly this is a near perfect game, I have a few nitpicks but that's a me problem, and I truly wanna revisit it one day now that I am less ignorant about it.

i could never get into this game. I always got to one divine beast then lost motivation. I realize you could just go tot eh end of the game, but I'm bad at video games

This is to the Switch what Mario 64 was to the N64.

8/10
Open world yayayay
Got boring after doing all the shrines

The reason I bought a Nintendo Switch. This title is a masterclass in exploration. Paired with an art style that somehow runs on the limited power that the Switch has. A true must play if you own a switch.

Game changer for realll. Constantly breathing in that wilderness with fun puzzles and open world exploration.

Finally my whiteboy hit the big time (for real dis time). Awesome at most things but there is basically no enemy variety, and the main dungeon bosses are also just okay.

I love this game, exploring the world was so fun being able to go wherever and climb wherever I love it..

i remember.. getting a nintendo switch in 2017 when I was around 9 for christmas.. the switch came with this game
first open world game I done ever played and I was cryin back then because I wanted more of the game

(ive yet to play TOTK)
