It's so peak. I think the story can be a little... much sometimes, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

I've played a lot of timespinner randomizer as well.

Timespinner is unassuming, unique, unambiguous in the state of flow it carries as it weaves together a surreal, enchanting, even transfixing experience. The setting and characters are truly fantastical, unbound by our social, political, sexual, and structural norms yet all the more human for it. The world itself appreciates you for exploring by endowing you with gift after gift for doing even the smallest of platforming puzzles. The combat surprising you with its seemingly endless variety and allowing itself to become a true test of skill on the harder difficulties.

I truly believe Timespinner to be the peak of the Vania side of the Metroidvania genre. Taking full advantage of the strengths of the RPG elements while leaving behind the tedium. I played through this game in full 3 times back to back because I wasn't ready to let such an enchanting experience go that quickly.

pretty solid little Metroidvania, the gameplay that takes cues from Order of Eclessia works well, gorgeous pixel-art graphics and good enough soundtrack, great exploration that feels rewarding and fun boss encounters, everything that an good Metroidvania needs is right here and fans of the genre will feel right at home.

it's a bit too short though, having played other Metroidvania games I finished this in 4 hours with most of the endings done without breaking much of an sweat, the story was decent enough but difficult to follow, lots of time travelling nothingburgers.

nonetheless an solid game, I am excited for the sequel now, hopefully it comes out this year.

This was a pretty descent Metroidvania!
The abilities and weapons are well done but the Timestop mechanic loses its edge about 2 hours in.
The story is very lackluster and the gameplay isn't very hard. I played it simultaneously with a friend while listining to a podcast. So if you like playing without paying full attention, this is for you. We payed about 3 bucks for Timespinner.
For me it's 4 Stars because playing it with a friend was a very good time and we're excited to see what the second one has to offer once it's out.
