It's a lovely designed Metroidvania which gets challenging half way through!

Monster Boy and the cursed kingdom

7/10

Uma aventura bem carismática, visual bom lembrando Akira Toriyama, OST bem simples mas com qualidade, Gameplay simples e legal e bem dificilzinho..

Vale a tentativa.

Graficamente hermoso! Aunque es facil ,es de los juegos mas disfrutables del genero metroidvania! Cuenta con un mundo abierto muy variado repleto de secretos. Un agazajo!

The first game in the 'Monster World' series since the days of 16-bit Genesis games. It's a surprisingly girthy experience that lasts a while but never gets boring. There's a bunch of new areas and hidden extras to find with each new form and there's even a mechanic that reveals undiscovered secrets on your map in exchange for a rare in-game currency. I can't think of a single way to improve what was done here making this a retro revival that understands fully what it needed to do right.

Up there as one of my favorite Metroidvanias, the exploration is incredibly engaging thanks to the use of multiple transformations and gameplay overall feels satisfying. What's keeping me from giving it a 5 star is that around the volcano area the game starts to become a slog for a while that you kind of have to force yourself to get through to get back to the fun.
