I might have some bias towards this game... It was the first game I ever played and for the longest time it was my favorite Mario game. Now looking at this game with a more critical perspective, I still think this game fucking rocks.

I'm very aware of the general views of this game and the era of Mario games that it came out in. And while yes, I fully agree that this game marks the start of an era in Nintendo where they were playing very safe with their IPs, especially Mario. What I don't agree with is the sentiment that this urge to play it safe is a bad thing. It's not. In my opinion it's just reassuring that I know exactly what kind of game I'm playing. Everyone KNOWS what a Mario game is and there's a bit of comfort in that because you'll be never surprised and sometimes that exactly what you need.

And that's exactly what this game is. The definitive 2D Mario experience. The worlds are the same Grass, Desert, Water, Lava, Jungle ect. that you expect. The level design is traditional 2D Mario game. The only thing that is unique about it is that the levels seem bigger which I assume is to take into account the 4-Player Feature which is a really enjoyable nightmare.

There really isn't much else to discuss with this game. It's a standard Mario game and not much else. There's the nostalgia but that's all it really has that makes it stand out to me. And again, that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Mario games are very good by nature and thats the same here. It's not required gaming for Mario fans but if you like Mario games you will like this too.

Le mode coop pour l'aventure, les nouvelles transofrmations et le Yoshi en monture en font un classique du genre.

This has awoken my trust issues

Much like the DS game, I think this one goes underappreciated.

Recomendo.

My apologies, but I have a heaping plateful of nostalgia for this one. Played through it together with my sister & a longtime childhood friend of ours & thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The NSMB formula didn't feel dull at this point & introducing 4-player co-op, even if it can get messy sometimes in terms of gameplay, was a fantastic move. Great new additions too including Yoshi & a slightly more involved world map. NSMBW, especially in co-op, brings a fun change of pace to an already fun franchise.

I never would've played this if not for the multiplayer, which is surprisingly LOTS of fun!

Probably the peak of the NSMB series back before it felt like they were churning out undifferentiated sequels to cash grab. Solid Mario gameplay, and chaotic fun multiplayer (and the ability to troll your friends by bubbling at inopportune times - and not having shared lives, so trolling doesn't backfire).

not fun ehkä oon vaan platform hater niin biased

Besides DS, this was the other New Super Mario Bros. game that I remember so fondly. I will say it is a bit carried by the multiplayer fun aspect as playing single player isn't as fun but the adventure you have with friends or family is a blast. Awesome new powers up as well! Great game.

I know this series is infamous for reuse of assets, but the multiplayer of this game is what makes it my favorite of the NSMB series.

Shelving at the start of World 3, the New Soup games may not be for me even if they're still quality games. Gonna be giving New Soup DS ago sometime soon though, may come back to Wii eventually :)

it was alr i love the multiplayer was fun

New Super Mario Bros. Wii brings classic 2D Mario action into a multiplayer frenzy. The core platforming is as satisfying as ever, with colorful worlds, clever level design, and nostalgic power-ups. Its true charm lies in the chaotic, four-player co-op where cooperation and friendly sabotage reign supreme. While the single-player experience can feel a bit simple compared to earlier Mario titles, New Super Mario Bros. Wii shines as a party game that will have you laughing, shouting, and reviving teammates endlessly.

du du du du du du du du du du du ba ba

a banger through and through. no complaints. nothing like carrying your other teammates and throwing them around etc.

It's a competently made, generic run of the mill mario game and nothing more. That being said, I adore it and have such fond memories of playing it with my older cousins and brother. I can't in good faith give it anything less then a 9/10.

Yo cuando tiro a mi amigo a un barranco y luego no voy a buscarlo... y después enciendo el New Super Mario Bros Wii

A great platformer and probably the best to play multiplayer

You've probably heard that this game is carried by the multiplayer.
It is 100% true.

shit went crazy at my 7th birthday party no lie
