I know in 50 years they're gonna say some shit like "Alright now turn your textbooks to Chapter 5: How to remake a game".

This game actually made me interested in Resident Evil. I saw that every game after 4 was just more action focused and deviated too much from their survival horror roots; then came this game and it seemed like a fresh straightforward restart for the franchise.

I wouldn't say this game is that scary, but it sure as hell knows how to keep you on your toes. Most of this game takes place in a police station infested by unkillable zombies and mutant monsters; even tho you have guns and tools at your disposal, most of what you are going to be doing is running away if you want to survive.

I also love the constant fear that no matter where I am, I always run the risk of bumping into a 7 foot tall monster that will stop at nothing to catch me and kill me. Mr X is not that much of a threat for most of the game, but man is it scary whenever I turn around a corner or open a door and it turns out he is right there, approaching me rapidly.

Probably the best survival horror game I've played....Granted, I haven't played that many......lol.

Claire.. <3 cLaIrE <3 claire <3 .. CLAIRE <3 CLAIRE REDFIELD, MARRY ME!!!

I haven't played many games that have put me on edge as much as this one did. After RE7, this is definitely the second scariest RE game. I love the vibe and story of the earlier RE games as in 0,1,3 and Code Veronica where its a grounded story about a bioweapon virus that goes to shit. The mystery/conspiracy and the survival horror element are very much present in this one. I haven't played the original but this remake was a great experience blind. It kind of made me dislike RE3 (which I played prior) a little because I didn't realize how similar the areas where to this, there's areas you visit in both like the police station, sewers and Umbrella HQ, although its not exactly the same, there are reused rooms. This along with the Nemesis which mimics Mr X in this game, Mr X is far more scarier though. Hearing his footsteps would traumatize me and I had moments where I slowly leave a room making sure my footsteps cant be heard then a quick turn around the corner and he was right there.

The dialogue is a bit cringe at times, and feels like it was written by Japanese who base their dialogue off cheesy 80s American action movies. It can be pretty cliche or there's lines that are completely out of place, like when Ada blows up a vent and then says "Like candy from a baby" it is such a weird time to say that and I don't even think makes sense in that context. The graphics and atmosphere are elite, and focuses more on psychological horror than jump scares even though there were some of those.

Something I didn't like was the A B story mechanic. I originally played as Leon, then when beating the game, I'm given the option to play Claire's side which was advertised to show what happens with her as you were playing with Leon, completing both A and B stories unlocks the true ending too. I decided to go ahead and do a Claire B story to find its the exact same game just with Claire. Puzzles are identical, the solution locations are slightly altered, enemy placement is also slightly changed as if that does anything, rooms and areas also the same. Bosses are also the same, so as Leon I would walk on a grate that collapses, fight a boss, kill it, then in Claire's story which happens around the same time, the grate is magically fixed, it breaks again when I walk on it and then I need to fight the same boss which is already dead. I ended up quitting the B story about 25% in because I found it to be a waste of time. Apparently in the original its very well done where different things actually happen, actions also impact the other playthrough so I might check that out in the future, kinda sucks they didn't do that here.

I've pretty much played every RE game now other than 6 which I'm not sure I will ever finish due to how bad it is, but I can say this game is def up there as one of the best and up there for horror games in general.

Incredible remake from Capcom. Set the quality bar for their remakes going forward.

Probably the best Remake ever made. Runs amazingly too.

Resident Evil 2 was another fantastic Resident Evil game that I’m so glad I’ve beaten. The plot centers around the outbreak of the G virus beginning in Raccoon City, and Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield retreating to the police station, where they believe they will be safe but are dead wrong. Gameplay focuses around exploring a variety of areas and shooting zombies when they get in your way. The survival horror element of this game is very shown, with a lot of puzzles having to be solved around the city and the limited resources you have. The game did get kinda tiring after going through basically the exact same thing four times and to see everything the game had to offer, but the contrast between Leon’s and Claire’s stories had enough for me and I realize that the preferred way to play it is to play Leon or Claire A then B as to not get burnt out on the same story over and over. The game at first isn’t too stressful, but once you meet Mr. X you will want to stay away from him. He will follow you throughout most of the game and can not be killed, so you’re gonna have to think smart with your strategies to make sure you don’t get cornered by him. Overall, Resident Evil 2 is a fantastic survival horror game and I hope I can play even more like it. The Resident Evil games have been fantastic so far, and I can’t wait to experience the rest.

Brilliant survival horror game, albeit a bit short and repetitive.

A triumphant return to form in survival horror gameplay. Excellent tension and atmosphere, great resource-stretching gameplay, awesome level design. Has the twin tensions of your first playthrough(s) being desperation in dreading what waits across the corner and whether you will have the resources to deal with it, with subsequent playthroughs (speedruns) having the tension of not knowing whether you'll be fast enough to make that S+ rank. Wonderful time. Shame they couldn't put in the zapping system and more differences between the campaigns, but nothing is perfect (it gets 5 stars anyway)

What an amazing way to witness the original R.E games. the replay-ability of this game is insane if you just like some fun zombie killing.

Mto pica. A gameplay é mto boa e divertida. Recomendo. A exploração é daorinha

Once I come back and do the other runs it might go up to a 10. The game design on display here is superb although it falls a bit after leaving the RPD.

Incrível, muito bom e a rejogabilidade deste jogo é muito daora

This is a masterpiece, loved every bits of it, played Claire A and Leon B scenarios (loved the story) and they compliment each other, the horror, jumpscares, combat and survival are S+.

A great representation of what a remake should be and even motivated me to go play the original Resident Evil 2,

- Great remake, faithful to the original in some ways and expand on it on other ways.
- Mr.X is the perfect hunter in horror video games and should be the blue print going forward.

this game just feels wrong in a way, i cant explain it, but its also amazing, i dont know how to describe it
this is the first game to make me scream in forever, dont judge me that big guy is creepy and he had no business busting open that wall

o nascimento do goat (leon scott kennedy)

True story: played this game blind and didn't know a thing about how the main enemy operated. Assumed all was normal, then realised what was going on. That kind of fear is priceless.

remake bom para krl zerei tantas vezes que eu perdi a conta obrigada capcom.
