The worst Platinum grind of my life, but otherwise this game is incredible. I would personally consider it my favourite for the architecture, music, and bosses. Just do yourself a favour and don't spend 12 hours on the Silver Knights stairs like I did.

Utterly brilliant, whilst I wasn't a massive fan of the first half with what felt like sub-par versions of areas and bosses that Fromsoft have done better, I found myself utterly addicted to the second half and of course, the dlcs.

Easily some of the best bosses and areas the series and genre has offered and a game that I cannot wait to get the platinum of.

The main menu theme is AMAZING

Prince Lothric is the best fight in the entire series

The final battle of the second dlc is demancially awesome.

People really do over-glorify this game... The levels are ok until your consequent playthroughs. After that they become annoying. The graphics looked too washed out, and some places look absolutely horrendous (natural land formations, Archdragon Peak from afar...)

But the PvE is almost perfect, bosses included. The OST is something else entirely, and as always, Fromsoft's DLCs never disappoint... So it is still a masterpiece. I am harsh because I love them.

I ain't finishing this lmaoooooooo

Everything about it from the music to the story to the gameplay is executed perfectly and makes for one of the best experiences in gaming. I love Dark Souls III

I was too lazy to add it back then, but yeah, I bought that edition for my ps4 a long time ago and repleayed the whole thing again and it just reminded me how much I love this game

Dark Souls 3 is more or less the direct sequel to Dark Souls 1. If Dark Souls 1 was important to you, Dark Souls 3 does its best to wrap up the legacy that the series started. Dark Souls 3 really does feel like the end of things, either it being a refined mishmash of DkS1, DkS2, and Bloodborne, or its story beats making it abundantly clear that things aren't meant to last forever.

The Ringed City is a suitable ending to the entire series, and the Ashes of Ariandel gives a bullshit but enjoyable boss fight at the end of it. The DLC doesn't feel like Dark Souls 2 where it heavily re-orientates the core experience. It's just add-on content that's fun and, well, an expansion of the base game.

The gameplay feels like an advancement of Dark Souls 1 with sprinkles of 2, and heavy influences of Bloodborne in there just to speed things up a bit compared to its predecessors. Unlike the bullshit you dealt with in DkS2 and adaptability, everything just feels "right" in DkS3. Movement feels appropriate, i--frames feel fixed, and stamina is back to mattering unlike Bloodborne where it's merely a suggestion. The magic system was revamped a-la Demon's Souls where you have a proper magic/special move meter instead of the archaic Dark Souls 1 and 2 method of spellcasting.

Dark Souls 3 is in that awkward place where DkS2 made a bunch of changes to the game's formula, fucked up a lot of it, and DkS3 spends time undoing most of what that game set out to do, for better and for worse. It lacks some of the more adventurous changes that Dark Souls 2 had, even the ones that worked out well. Whereas Bloodborne felt like a step aggressively forward and DkS2 felt like a step, well, somewhere, Dark Souls 3 is comfortable just slightly moving things forward. Its only real flaw is that it feels a bit safe, that it does not push the series towards any meaningful direction. Less friendlier takes would call the game uninspired.

It's just comfortable with cleaning things up and playing the series out with some nice fanservice. Which is fine and good.

I don't care what people say, this is the best dark souls game

my first souls game, wish I could play it blind all over again

not as peak as ds2 but still pretty damn good

I decided to replay the game so that I can finally finish the DLC. What do I think?
Uh.... I thought I would find it better in this replay, but no I found it worse.
Areas are much more linear than I remembered, bosses and even basic enemies all do the annoying thing of having combos with like 10 hits ending in a delayed hit to fuck with your rhythm, difficulty is all over the place despite the aforementioned linearity, DLC was just alright, etc.
It's still better than most games, but I'd rather just play Elden Ring or really anything else from FromSoft.
Also I decided to go for magic this run as I've never tried that in a Souls game. I soon found out magic kind of sucks on this one. Oh well.

Some years ago, I rented Dark Souls III and I played it for few hours but I wasn't good at it and I never got into the series.
After playing Bloodborne, I decided to play Dark Souls III again... but I played it properly this time.
As a Souls game, Dark Souls III tells its interesting story and lore via environmental storytelling, which is an interesting way to tell a story.
The gameplay is slower than in a game like Bloodborne and it feels a bit stiff but it's very varied and enjoyable nonetheless.
The bosses in the first half of the game are lacking unfortunately, they're easy and disappointing for the most part, but the bosses in the second half of the game really make up for it; they're fantastic, some of the best in the series in fact.
Also, the music is absolutely incredible and the graphics are still nice.
As for the DLCs, Ashes of Ariandel is extremely short but the mandatory boss is amazing.
The Ringed City lasts much longer, it has more bosses and an epic conclusion to the entire series.
Overall, the DLCs are actually very good! Ashes of Ariandel is not as good as it could've been but The Ringed City is great.
Unfortunately, just like in Bloodborne, the camera is awkward at times.
However, unlike in Bloodborne, the level design is very linear in Dark Souls III and there is a surprising amount of areas I didn't enjoy, to be honest.

Pros:
+ Rich lore
+ Fun & diverse gameplay
+ Challenging & epic bosses
+ Incredible music
+ Great DLCs

Cons:
- Awkward camera in some instances
- Linear level design and many annoying areas

Gameplay: 7/10
Content: 9/10
Music: 10/10
Graphics/Audio: 8/10

Final Rating: 9/10
- Amazing -
Dark Souls III is a very exciting, challenging and rewarding experience, and a fitting conclusion to the Age of Fire, even if it's not as compelling as some of the other "Souls" games from FromSoftware.

Do I recommend it?:
I'd highly recommend it to the fans of the series/genre and even to newcomers, despite the high difficulty.

Just got the Platinum trophy today after playing this game for the first time in April 2022. The base game was amazing, the covenant grind not so much. Soul of Cinder was a pretty lackluster final boss for base game. I did 3 playthroughs and first timed him each time. The flow of the fight is good I just wish it was a bit harder(?) I guess. I didn't really like the DLC areas but the fights against Friede and Gael were so worth it. Next up is Sekiro

Dark Souls III is the definitive Dark Souls experience, doing what the first game does but a lot more refined and elegant. The only two complaints I have are that the levels are very linear which I didn't really mind since suck at navigation in games and the base game isn't very hard, but that can also be because I am more experienced with the series. Apart from those nitpick which I don't really have too of an issue with, this is one of the most solid games I have ever played. It has such a solid set of bosses with some of the best bosses I have fought in any game to bosses that are just okay, but it is impressive the bosses are never bad. The areas take the original's dark and dingy style and uses it to create a lot more unique areas with it with twisted and strange architecture and land masses. The combat is a lot more fluid than the original and is a lot closer to Elden Ring while still keeping in the quirks of the original Dark Souls' combat. In conclusion, I absolutely loved Dark Souls III and as I play more Souls games, it's going to be very hard for anything to top this one.

Oh my god I get it. I finally understand the love for this game and this series. The design at play with Dark Souls 3 is masterful. I won’t lie and say the game is flawless and every area is perfect- I have the standard gripes with areas such as the poison swamp- but DS3 more than makes up for those complaints with the bosses. For awhile I thought the difficulty of this game was a little overrated, but Pontiff, the Twins, and Soul of Cinder are a real challenge, and I adore all of those fights and the adrenaline that comes with them. Miyazaki’s storytelling is a prime example of the kind of storyteller I want to be, taking a show-not-tell approach. I really think this type of narrative shines in the gaming medium, and especially with the souls games. I can’t wait to play the others.

This is now my favorite Dark Souls game

Sensacional.
