I tried so hard with this game but in the end it just pisses me off more than anything. Huniepop 1 was a cute game and was over before I had a chance to get bored of the gameplay, so I was looking forward to this game!
Man oh man...The gameplay in this feels so RNG based at times that it feels like I'm just hitting a slot machine! Huniepop 1 was like this at times but never so offensively, it feels like you're always getting fucked over in some way by this game. It's not horrible or anything but it's super mediocre. Baggage, while cute in concept, can be really fucking annoying more often than not, and hinders my experience rather than helps it. This is Huniepop man I'm not here to tryhard I'm here to chill out, match 3, and see some boobs.
The characters though...I hate like 90% of the cast, most of them are really fucking annoying or weird and are just insufferable to talk to. One thing I do like is the double date system allows for some interactions between characters, which Huniepop 1 had very few of, so that was kinda cute I guess. But when the characters are THIS annoying I don't really care to see them interact at all! Shoutout to Lailani for being the only new character I actually liked, she's super cute.
Not even the porn is good. The artstyle is way worse than the first game.
So I'm sitting here 70% of the way done with the game and it hits me, I hate the gameplay, I hate the characters, I even hate the porn, why am I playing this?
And so, I'm not.

Polly's penis is cartoonishly huge, and also has significantly less detailing than the other women's vulvas , so it just looks aesthetically out of place. It's a shame, because she has the world's hottest accent.
I liked the double date gimmick and juggling the girls' baggages. It was nice to see the HunieCam girls again, but it felt like they lost something I can't quite place.
I didn't really like the last boss, but that might've been because I wasn't really a fan of the voice direction. They kept saying things in this weird Tommy Wiseau way that totally killed my puzzle momentum.
As usual a lot of the outfits aren't my cup of tea. They're skanky in an ugly way versus a hot way. I wouldn't be caught dead wearing these.
Also the dev promised prerelease it would be kinkier than the first game in the unofficial HunieCord, which I think is funny because the kinkiest thing is that now there are TWO women you can sleep with at a time.

I'm just writing the review now since I don't think I'll finish it for a while (I'll explain why in a sec).
This game is pretty good! I'm dead serious, this stupid virgin porn game is good. I am an avid enjoyer of the original HuniePop, and this game was also really solid. Admitting I like HuniePop is a little rough, since it's literally HuniePop, but the puzzle solving core gameplay is genuinely so addicting that I almost don't care about anything else. I also think it's foolish to act as if reward for solving a fun puzzle being hot anime women naked isn't just a cherry on top.
Now, there are improvements this game makes to the original, I think the idea of a "double date" is neat and adds a nice layer of strategy. But...this is where I get into the reasoning as to why I don't think I can complete this one.
It's. So. Fucking. Hard. The original HuniePop wasn't a cakewalk, but it was a pretty nice challenge that felt fair and challenging. Here, it genuinely feels entirely luck based, and later on in the game you need up to 10 absolutely huge moves to actually win. Especially because this game added a new mechanic called "baggage," a mechanic that really only affects Hard mode from what I hear (the mode I played). Basically, each girl has things linked to their past that effect how you play the game and tackle the challenges. While, at first this mechanic seemed really cool and added another extra layer of strategy, it's actually just incredibly obnoxious and makes everything feel unfair; as well as making misfortune entirely unavoidable. I made it 74% of the way, and I haven't passed a date in around 15 tries. So, for now, I am dropping the game and leaving it as is. If I ever return, I think I'm gonna knock the difficulty down to Normal, since it seems almost impossible on hard mode. But to be honest, I'd probably just return to the original HuniePop anyways.
Not as bad as all my friends were saying it was though, it's a pretty novel sequel that had some cool ideas. I'm sorry that I enjoyed the porn game and had a lot to say, it's fun and I'm tired of pretending it's not
Anyways they're lucky I don't give this game a 1/10 considering they cut my best girl Nikki from the game

This game is kinda disappointing. Ok so the one thing I DID enjoy the game was that some of the characters were memorable. The interactions were more interesting, the web of characters being connected was really fun to piece, and Jessie is just trying her best. I think this game leans a bit too much into campiness with its scenarios and some characters. WHiel I do think it did introduce some really cool strategic elements into the game, like having items matter a lot more into date composition, and baggage did bring another element into the setup, I just didn't find the game as fun as the first one. I was especially disappointed with the music not grabbing my attention too. Oh well, I still have the babes like Lailani
I started playing this immediately after beating the first game and... I was EXTREMLY disappointed. I like what this game's going for, the resource management aspect of the double date system is definitely an appealing idea but in execution I feel it falls a bit flat. This game has what I like to call "The MarioKart Double Dash Problem", in that it's main gameplay gimmick is a great idea, but feels like it should be a side mode in another game rather than a game all to itself.
Plus only 3 girls return from the original game and only 2 of them are actually datable which was a little disappointing as someone who loved the first game's characters so much.

Better than the first game visually, and the updates it makes to certain characters personality is genuinely interesting and makes them seem much more fully realized, but god, the double date mechanic is unbearable in my opinion. It makes some of the dates absolutely unplayable, the way certain characters negative traits will compound to absolutely ruin your chances of doing anything to win, to the extent that multiple matches were so frustrating, I figured there couldn't be any way in hell a human play tested this because if they did, they would have realized that they shouldve taken this concept back to the drawing board and started over.
