the game presents such a unique idea and gameplay. The enjoyment that you get from your first and second playthroughs is amazing. However, after that, it became a little bit boring.

Really great idea for a rougelike, but after few runs it starts to be repetitive

Um jogo de RPG com uma roupagem de um computador do começo dos anos 2000. O jogo é bem bacana para quem gosta de RPG de turno e afins, vale a pena testar.

Amazing rpg using an old pc style for the gameplay was pretty genius. I never actually realized it was a rougelike until after I beat it cos I breezed through the game pretty easily.
My biggest complaint with the the game is the awful storage system, instead of just upgrading your main storage you get a bunch of mini storages that go inside your main one so you have constantly go in and out of different menus when sorting items its just really annoying.
I can definitely see my self coming back to this game occasionally for a new run

So much fun, it's insane how creative this game is

The looks of this game are so creative. Also, the gameplay loop is very good. It's challenging!

I think Kingsway deserves so much more love than it gets. While it is very much an acquired taste, if you like it, you'll love it. The novelty of the Windows 95-esque management of Kingsway has so much charm that it felt like it earned every minute I spent on it.

Normal ending, and I think I'll be calling it here for now having enjoyed my time. I know there are more involved endings, but after having seen how to exploit the combat system to the point of near invincibility, I have a hard time imagining it'll feel all that different. I'll leave them for if I ever get the urge to replay this.

Apart from the lovely retro appeal (I'll forever stand by late 90s GUIs and their primarily academic research-driven design), I really like this kind of window-based game. It reminds me of being a kid trying to figure Civ 2 and Freeciv out and being perplexed by a video game having more in common with Microsoft Word than Half-Life.

kingsway is such an ideal roguelike. i really bounced off this game the first time i played it. the ui seemed dense and hard to keep track of, the mechanics felt obtuse and confusing, i often felt incredibly overwhelmed and weak compared to everything i was up against. then everything just... clicked into place! i knew where i liked everything, i knew what numbers i wanted to go up and what items i needed and didn't. i started relishing certain events and areas, getting excited at a new modifier on a weapon that complements a build i'm doing perfectly. even if it all seems impossible at first, eventually it all just comes together!
this game has some incredible endings as well. the writing and story itself isn't too interesting or unique by my standards anyway (at least the original ones, the more recent update added a real fun one) and i really love how easy it was to figure out how to reach different endings without resorting to looking anything up. even the most esoteric one makes itself pretty clear after a handful of runs.
anyway if you like roguelikes and think this ones gimmick looks charming, give it a shot. the game is cheap. also the game has a little picrew customizer to make a little face for your character, but you can also upload custom images to it and it's obviously a very small thing, but i just think that's very cute and fun.
