Always a series I've enjoyed but never one I've actually finished! Pretty sure I've played it on ROM, 3DS and Switch now. I got the AA Trilogy with my Switch around October 2020, my last save for the first game is November 2020, and then I basically dropped it until COVID when I played a chunk more at mum's, then dropped it until now. I enjoyed it for the most part - I probably wouldn't have ever gone back and finished it if it wasn't for the backlog sheet. I think part of the issue is that the 'gameplay' is pretty simple and repetitive, and because it's technically 3 games in one, there's no real growth in mechanics or depth from game to game and so it can get a bit frustrating being reintroduced to things you've already done. It's also annoying when you spot a contradiction ahead of time, but the game isn't ready for you to see it yet (I'm thinking of the receipt in the Mia murder one), or when you don't pick the /right/ contradiction. I'm glad I resorted to a walkthrough when I needed to, though it is incredibly satisfying when you manage to spot one yourself. I'm actually looking forward to the other trilogy combos, Great Attorney and Apollo Justice - hopefully they expand a little on the basis from Phoenix Wright. I enjoy the characters and the wild plots in the game - there's a surprising level of depth to the characters considering it's a mostly jokey visual novel series. I enjoyed the way that the Trials and Tribulations cases (mostly) linked together, especially with the two shorter Mia ones squeezed in to give context and background to the finale. I think I've talked myself into giving it a higher rating tbh.
Those gay ass loser lawyers.
That aside, it's a wonderful story about legacy, about family and amending the mistakes that have marred people for far longer than they should. Like any other visual novel game, it gets wacky, it gets crazy, it makes you want to reach your hand into the screen and reassure the characters.
You will listen to the scent of dark coffee jazz version at least once. Please play the trilogy. Please.
(If possible) Get the DS version "legally" too please, the sprites there are great.

A very nice collection of a banger trilogy. Played it enough to say that on 3DS works pretty good, although I still prefer the DS native versions of the trilogy than playing it there: it's feels slightly a filterish but at the same time not as horribly as that crappy iOS trilogy released prior to this.
I forgot i had this account. Anyways, I played this trilogy mostly because it was on sale for 9 bucks but also because of how easily I got hooked by it after just one ‘tutorial’ case. It was easy, it was maybe too simple, but it was something that hooked me to keep playing through with it. And after finishing it I can finally say that, yes my dear tumblr user from 2017, you were correct, this is a good series of games. I need to replay this so badly
Wanted to replay all the originals before Apollo Justice HD released, so downloaded this version to play through all of them on the Switch, game after game.
Really enjoyed playing through these games again, but my one negative with the game is I think the newer character models for some of the witneses/side-characters was a little lazily made; I missed the old pixel art for some of them, as they were better done! But the game hits the marks in all other ways! Music is banging! Great way to replay the originals, without cracking out the old DS!

Minha primeira visual novel.
