Super charming, challenging, and visually unique with a great art direction that's somewhere in between Cuphead and Bloodborne. There were times when I couldn't put it down, however...

Good god getting around is the most tedious thing imaginable. An absolute chore to get from place to place, the game either needs far more fast travel spots or just an entirely different fast travel system. ANYTHING different than this.

I will also add that in every element other than gameplay this is the most blatant Dark Souls rip off I've ever played. The overall world lore, story, progression of areas, NPC storylines, etc. All right out of Dark Souls.

Enfim, inseto mata DEUS.

my favorite game of all time, i hate abs rad

guys i love hollow knight so much, its actually just peak

An extremely challenging (but fair) Metroidvania. There is a combat arena, where completing it's hardest Trial is one of my proudest gaming achievements. Also, there is a boss who killed me over 50 times, but it did not diminish my love for this game at all.

The Voidheart Edition includes all 4 bonus content packs, which blends into the main game perfectly. This game has a great soundtrack, excellent combat, and an absurd amount of interesting lore. All of this is accompanied by a huge map and a ton of rewarding secrets, making this a must play if you can tolerate the difficulty.

Might be my favourite game. Yeah, it isn't perfect and a lot of the bosses are throwaways but I think I just love the metroidvania genre and this game is a perfect example of 2d exploration.

Here we have it, lads, the peak of Metroidvania. How only 2 guys managed to do one of the best games of all time still boggles my mind.
The game has so much passion put into it and so much identity, it is unreal, the unique art style, the addictive and challenging boss fights, the rich and enormous map, the soulborne like gameplay and the narrative that is subtle, but beautifully presented.
The amount of love put into this game makes me love it as well. One of the best experiences I have ever had with gaming.

When I first went to go play this game, I really thought I was gonna think it was just ok. But then I played it and then it was just life-changing. The visuals are just so gorgeous with how simple they are. And the combat is super rewarding to master with how simple it is too. The world-building is great, the story is interesting, and the blank-slate mc is interesting. A good first intro to what indie could be.

One of the greatest games in the world. Thick little bugs make me gonna do something ima regret

AMAZING CUTE TOUGH WHACK WHACK

Musica: gozei
Gameplay: suave como um boquete
Direcao artistica: quero mamarlos

Todo o resto: merece nobel da paz

Lost Kin will continue to give me PTSD for the rest of my life,

Other than that, game is an absolute masterpiece. Would really like to complete it, but my save is at 69% and I really don't want to see that change.

One of the most satisfying journeys ever, holy shit.
112% + Path of Pain + Pantheon of Hallownest.

A perfect video game, with perfect music, combat, story and everything. Thank you, Team Cherry. Thank you for making the greatest video game of all time.

Holy peak. I played this free with game pass, and was blown away. Great music, visuals and gameplay. The vibe is just so surreal I love it.

Masterpiece, all you can really say about this title.

This game is a actual steal. They have no right to charge this cheap for a game of this quality. Is the game perfect? No. But for the amount of quality content you receive for your buck there is not much room to complain. The longer you play the longer it gets. and it's very replayable as well. If you like the genre or havent tried the genre yet please give this game a shot.

I started playing this game on, but stopped playing suddenly due to a work trip. When I returned to this game, I started playing it on my Series X, and it has become one of if not my favorite game of all time! The highest percentage I ever got to was 110%, and I accidentally deleted my main save doing speedrun and Steelsoul attempts, and I am now on my second journey through Hallownest, and I am at 106% currently! I have also started grinding speedrun and Steelsoul attempts again, and even though they are infuriating every time I lose them, it has become such a good feeling seeing myself get further and further on Steel Soul!

I won't talk much about the story because I will leave the lore to mossbag (I highly recommend watching his lore videos though!), but the way you slowly learn more and more about the world without being spoon fed is absolutely amazing.

The difficulty of the bosses is there, but at the same time the grind is never truly too much (except for NKG! I swear to this day that i got lucky when I beat him!). The ambiance and music are amazing, but at this point let's be honest. I am saying things that absolutely everyone is saying! The game is gorgeous, and please Team Cherry bring us Silksong soon!

In my opinion, Hollow Knight is an overall bad game carried by a select few immaculate, nigh untouchable moments. The vast majority of the game is directionless wandering until you’re inevitably blocked by an obstacle that only exists so that there can be a solution hidden somewhere else entirely (likely somewhere the player didn’t even know existed). Combat against standard enemies often feels clunky without the inclusion of any hitstun, and they instantly charge back at full speed after getting hit since there isn’t any acceleration.

There definitely are some high notes, however, like the White Palace and Nightmare King Grimm. The latter of which is possibly the most fun and optimizable boss in any game I’ve ever played. The soundtrack and art style deserve praise too. A vast majority of Hollow Knight’s problems come solely from it committing too hard to the tropes of the Metroidvania genre, which often serve to dilute the experience and waste the player’s time. Hollow Knight definitely isn’t awful, but I personally wouldn’t recommend it.

What is bad is locking Pure Vessel and Absolute Radiance behind the Pantheons. I don’t understand why I’m getting gatekept to the challenge itself--completely inane.

Love the artstyle and the music. The combat is well-polished and the movement system makes traversing the map feel satisfying. This combined with mostly amazing bosses makes it one of my favourite games. Markoth is still annoying though.

One of the best if not the best Metroidvania. Phenomenal game with a beautiful art style. Additionally, the value relative to the cost is extremely generous.

Great visuals, great music, got stuck but always enjoyed what I did play of this game.

This game just has a really special place in my heart. It was probably the first game ever that comes to mind that I just fell for completely and loved. Hallownest's world is so haunting yet beautiful and exploring it is just amazing. Nothing will beat the feeling for me of getting lost in one area, just to end up finding a completely new one to explore. The boss design is immaculate. NKG is one of my favorite fights in anything I've played so far. They're well-spaced, challenging and fair, and are usually just really really cool. And there's just so much to do on top of that. There are many collectibles and secrets scattered across, and I felt genuinely intrigued to seek them out. This is the first game that I've 100%'d, and that's because it got me hooked the entire ride through.
HK's story approach is pretty show, don't tell and I think that really fits the nature of the game. Hallownest's history is intriguing and beautiful, and yet most of it is pretty out of the way, and is that way for YOU to discover it.
My favorite game ever (so far...). 10/10. Cannot recommend enough. Made me cry while I was just walking in the middle of nowhere. Also sharp shadow is a good charm
