I honestly have no idea why this is so good, it just is.

incredibly fun level design and probably the best soundtrack in the series.

champion's road killed me, but I loved every second of it

A 2D Mario masquerading as a 3D Mario. Played entirely multiplayer and almost entirely as Peach. Peach was my main back on Mario 2 for the S/NES when I was a wee babbu, you see. Probably second favourite Mario now after Yoshi's Island.

classic tight 3d mario platforming. thoroughly enjoyed my time with this one but the frustrating camera keeps it from being up there with the best.

the superior version due to increased walking speed and other changes i do not remember but remember liking. great game otherwise

An OK Mario game that is still fun to play. Overall presentation is uninspired and platforming is not as precise as it can be. There were also problems with difficulty balancing, level design and depth perception. Still, it was fun to spend a day on it and best score I can give this game is 7.5/10.

Decent game. Completion criteria is obnoxious, though.

This one was way much better than 3D Land! Amazing graphics, stunning gameplay! Really stupendous!

Super Mario 3D World is such an unbelievable upgrade and sequel to 3D Land. Whilst 3D Land is still good and hasn't gotten worse since this released, 3D World is just so much more beautiful in its levels and music, to where almost every track is memorable and the gimmicks are fun and don't overstay their welcome. The co-ops makes this game a lot more replayable, as I've played with a few groups of people and it's been different every time. I'd have mastered 3D World by now if it weren't for having to do Champion's Road 5 times in order to 100% it properly.

Not as fun as 3d land imo. but still nice.
MP is a wild fucking ride.

pretty good.
Not spectacular but still good

Fun times, cool level design, and amazing music, but BOY do I suck at 3D platforming. So glad Wonder is going to be in good ol' fashioned 2D.

Fun in multiplayer. But it's also Super Mario 3D World. I don't really know what to say. Oh also the credits theme is wonderful.

Very good level based platformer. Even better with friends (i wouldn't know)

I have nothing but love for this game, from being a cherished memory of the Wii U days to its amazing return on the Switch. Soulful and fun to the very end.

i really love the chain link charge music

I overall forgot how fun this game is. Does it innovate or provide any crazy revelations for the platforming genre? Not really no, but it succeeds in two key areas: it's fun to play and it's very well designed. Mario 3D World is essentially what I'm looking for when I'm playing a Mario game; great course design that never overstays its welcome, fun level gimmicks, fun powerups, fantastic music, and in the Switch version the movement speed is cranked up to 11. Perhaps one could argue that the original Wii U courses weren't designed well for this speed increase but that just makes it all the more fun to sequence break stages and whatnot. This game also has a ridiculous amount of content packed into it with a plethora of extra stages to play after finishing the game, and a secret final level that's actually challenging (looking at you Odyssey). I'm not willing to 100% the entire game just yet as getting top of the flagpole with every single character in every stage sounds extremely tedious and repetitious so all green stars and stamps are good enough for me I guess.

Who knew that my favorite entry in the Mario franchise would be the one where he turns into a cat
