This game is a strange amalgamation of themes, tones, and gameplay mechanics that never should've worked, and yet somehow it does. That said, Jak II is brutal and definitely could've used a little rebalancing and more checkpoints, but literally everything else is pure gold.

The story is a hot mess and the difficulty is unbalanced in the opposite way from its predecessor but it's still a fucking blast. Spargus and the wasteland are the best parts.

This stupid overly gritty glorified kart racer has no business being this good. Or having a soundtrack that slaps that hard.

A technical marvel for its time that perfects the 3D platforming genre, but I just never vibed with it the way I did its sequels.

Decent spin off with solid mechanics.

A travesty.
